Dear community, We have a case, that a user used references within Creo for hole postions in Part B from Part A. When he now wants to create a copy of Part B, Windchill always wants to also create a copy of Part A. I have a feeling this should be preference which can be set, that the system does create a third part (call it Part C) which is a copy of Part B including the references to Part A. Do you know of such a preference or how to handle such a case? Thanks in advance and BRCHENAMA

Again I need help dealing with symbolic arithmetic in MC14. In the German mathematical school magazine "Alpha", issue 2/1993, I found reference to a strange sentence. In the limit towards 0 it concerns the ratio of the area of a curve segment to the area of a connected tangent triangle. Proving this theorem for special curves whose functional equation is known is not difficult. But the theorem applies to arbitrary, often continuously differentiable, curves. The associated proof in the original work involves a lot of writing work. I would like to understand this using the symbolic calculation in MC14. I have attached a “test file” for this purpose. Unfortunately my calculation fails because of the MC message that terms are becoming too large. Maybe I made mistakes too. But the calculation method is easy to describe. Currently, my setting in Preference Management for "Set Revision for Part" is set to No (I am looking to change this). With this setting, a user could create a CAD object and check it in without creating the WTPart. If after some time passes, and the user creates the WTPart, can the WTPart version be set to equal that of the CAD object. I've done some searching on this topic and cannot seem to find how this could be done. Up to now users have checked out the WTPart, and checked it back in until they have the alignment. I am looking for the process to do this without doing the checkout/checkin multiple times. 

Hello! I am struggling a bit with the symbolic representation of some complex problems. Please, take a look at the attached file. How can I properly define complex function on form z=r*e^(i*phi)? Should I write z(r,phi)=r*e^(i*phi)? If I do so, then the symbolic evaluation of complex potentials (Phi and Psi) doesn't get along. Also, I am trying to use Re and Im functions to define the real and Imaginary parts of "z" without any success. The same goes to the conjugate of "z": it should be z*=r*e^(-i*phi).Hopefully somebody can help me out. UPDATE:I did some progress, but still can't define properly function "z" without Mathcad telling that some variable is undefined. Dear Community Members,    Hope you all are doing well. I have subscribed to Mathcad Prime 9, the student version for one year. It was running perfectly, however, yesterday I tried to open a file but I was unable to open the file, Then I changed the PTC filename to Old_PTC in C drive ( solution on this community page). Now when I am opening my Mathcad, the watermark of "Mathcad Express ..." is in the background of each page. Hi, I have installed KepwareEx6 (v6.14) with GE Ethernet Suite option on a VM and set it up to read from an Emerson (old GE) PLC that has a CPE330 CPU. On the same VM that Kepware is installed, I have also installed a GE Historian Collector that is set up to collect data from Kepware using OPC DA and send the data to our native GE Historian. This way I can log data from the PLC to our GE Historian every 100 ms. My PLC scan time, however, is between 4 to 5 ms. So, for every sample logged by the Historian I am missing potentially 24 samples from the PLC. If I know when Kepware reads from the PLC then in the PLC I can use that signal as a trigger to find the Minimum, Maximum and Average of the 25 PLC samples of data that correspond to the one sample that Kepware reads every 100 ms and log these statistical values as a separate tag to get a feel about the missing samples. So, this way for each signal of interest from PLC I will have 4 tags: The instantaneous value of the tag

I  used the line chart with multiple data source and I apply the legend filter on it but by default all legends are selected and then we can choose the the legends but I want to select only one legend by default.         How to do that?

when I click on windchill commonspace after changing my network from VPN back to intranet in my office, I see an error: windchill commonspace folder cannot be displayed community  

There are revision parameters in the 2D template I made, but after the new project drawing, the revision parameters are not called successfully, and the parameters are lost. How to solve this problem?  2D template：New engineering drawing：   

I made a recent change where I needed to turn off visibility/write access to specific attributes on WTParts. So profiles seemed the way to go. I made a profile that made the desired attributes be read only and added users to it.  Now, none of those users have the "New/Create Change Notice" option in Actions. Both the standard profile i made and the license profiles of the users have "Create Change Notices" and "Start Change Notice Executions" checked, though.  If I take the users out, the "New" with it's submenu returns. Why?

Is it possible to do a rolling upgrade going from Thingworx 9.4.0 to 9.4.1?  Specifically I'm looking at upgrading a HA cluster.  The matrix on Upgrading ThingWorx High Availability Clustering (ptc.com) does not reference 9.4.x and I was unable to find any other pointers in the Help Center. 

Hello, I am trying to upgrade my project from Windchill 11 to Windchill 12. I face the below issue when trying to compile the source code in eclipse. The error points to LoadPart.java file "The type wt.vc._MasterIteration cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files" I have included all the necessary jar files in the build path of the project but the issue is still there. Cleaning and re-building of the project also didnt help. Kindly let me know if anyone has any idea as to how to resolve this. Thanks,     

Hey all, I'm using windchill 10.0 and despite trying my best, I'm unable to generate or create any change request or notice or any other option related to change family. I have seen many videos where there's direct option available for change request or notice etc etc but I cannot see none in my PC. I've tried generating new projects and giving my best to arrange a perfect workflow which in my opinion was the problem at first but I was wrong. I searched this forum and yet clueless. Let me specify my problem exactly. Problem: There's no option for change notice/request. Only promotion tab available. (also I've changed some settings for my site which are now not letting me even generate promotion request. would like to reset it as well to default settings first).   

If I change wvs.property to increase the default generated thumbnail size - can I force the regeneration of thumbnails?  And - of course - is there a way to kick this off over a weekend?  (or do it on a selected subset of parts?). thumbnail.generator.width=800thumbnail.generator.height=600 PDM/Link Release: 12.0.2.3    

In Windchill PDM Link, under a Document's "Related Objects" tab, Is it possible to have actions on "Referenced By Documents" table just like how "References Documents" table has actions to add, create, copy paste. Please go through the screenshot attached for clear understanding. Is it possible to enable these actions through Configuration? Please suggest the possible ways and steps to do it. Hi,  I hope this message finds you well. I'm new to the Thingworx SCM - I have tried to install EMS & Lua in same local machine for exploration and after that I have tried to deploy the demo package in local machine but i couldn't able to track it. In Track Dempolyment Page its showing some error message of "Unable to Invoke Service QueryDeployments on TW.SCM.TrackDeploymentsThing: Could not count Entries for deployment Could not get Entries due to null" . But the package  was migrated to end devices.
