Beware of using the "stack" function with mixed unit matrices containing zero terms without units. Prime seems to "leak" the units from another term to the unitless zero terms:  Given that Prime is fairly pedantic about using units  - even on zero terms- subsequent computations using 0.N instead of 0 will fall over. This can unwittingly happen when radians are used, and you expect the value to remain a pure ratio. The get around is to ensure radians are inserted at source - even though Prime strips them off in subsequent results: If you copy and paste this result, into another expression, the rad unit will get swapped out for another:  However, this is of no help if the zero value is not an angle e.g. a zero count value.   

Hi , I found some Remote bound Things having alerts without properties in 8.4 version of thingworx.The Alerts were created and then someone deleted its  property. And now that alert is not getting deleted. This ghost Alert is not allowing us to migrate this entity from one platform to another. Is there any method or workaround to delete this Alert ? Regards,Sri     

Hi Every one, My requirement is to create an irregular pattern of holes. I have 'X' and 'Y' dimensions of points where holes to be made and will create a family table of patterns.but, after creating table pattern the points are reversely plotted (-ve became positive and positive became -ve). I think it is taking relative position instead of absolute positions. I can reverse the signs to get the proper results but I have to use the exact values of 'X' and 'Y' dimensions. I have attached the snaps of the problem I am facing. please help.     

I am running CREO Parametric 7.0.4.0 on Windows 10.I would like to use the boolean cut function to match some mating geometry. I've watched a few videos on how its done and it seems rather simple.I was having issues so I created 2 cubes and a practice assembly, however when I try and select the geometry to be used as the cut, it will not let me select it. (view in My Videos) I do see a feedback message in the bottom left that states: "Reference cannot be uesd due to the scope setting of NONE for Environment."  I could not find an obvious setting in the config to make this adjustment to locally. Any ideas?

I am thinking of upgrading my Alien 17 R4 laptop  (intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7820Hk CPU  2.9GHz, 32GB RAM ). I would appreciate any thoughts, guidance or recent experience on selecting a  laptop/desktop PC  suitable for running parallel instances of Prime - where each instance is running a large numerically intensive programme.  Many thanks  GeoffD

Hi,I am working on some Windchill customization for a client. I did a Java program, called as onpublish.afterloadermethod. I call some external REST web services and get back JSON response, which I have to parse.As Java 8 doesn't have native JSON parser and I don't want to use third party Java JSON library (possible maintenance problems and additional work involved), I want to use some internal solution (like internal JSON library, used by developers), which must exist inside Windchill and will be available with future WIndchill verisons.Can anybody help me?Thanks.

In standard javascript one would simply do this..   let key = "somthing" let jsonObject = {[key]: "value"}   But Thingworx doesn't allow this. How can I set a key using a variable in thingworx?  

Hello Community, I tried finding a way to order my network entity in the network entities services but could not find anything.Do you have any ideas on how to do it? My issue is that I have a network where the user wants to be able to move nodes in the network around.But doing so "ruins" the order of the network. If I move a child node that was first in the parent node to a different parent, it will always end up at the end of the new parent node. I realize I could probably do this after the fact, when pushing the data to my mashup, but I wouldn't want it to cause any performance issues as some of my networks will get quite big. My preferred way would be to order it by name. Thanks,Jens 

Hello, I want to preface this post with saying that I am not very good with Java, so please excuse any glaring rule breaking. Anyway, I wanted to try and make some company specific boilerplate snippets.I have managed to create a custom extension and I can import it into my platform correctly.However when used, it returns a function like; let ResultTypeName = doSomething(); Instead of what I am returning from the "doSomething" function. I'm certain I am doing something wrong. What I want is basically something similar to how the try/catch snippet works, or really almost any other snippet.  I started with following this PTC article and also this document but felt it didn't really cover my needs.So if anyone has any other resources around this, I'd very much appreciate it if they could post them here. I'm also uploading my metadata and src file in case it is of interest. Thanks,Jens

We are currently on Creo 4 and Windchill (Intralink) 8.  If I do a ptcstatus.bat I see 15 Intralink 8 licenses available.  Unfortunately, we need about 25 until we get ourselves upgraded to Creo 8 or 10 and Windchill 12 later this year.  We have purchased numerous licenses of Windchill 12 but they're just sitting there, waiting for implementation.  It would be great if we could temporarily transfer those to Intralink 8 licenses for a short period of time. Is there something we could do now w/ PTC or are we stuck until we upgrade? Thanks..

Hi!We currently have our TW server configured for SSO via pingFederate.  That part works great.  I now want to use some android tablets to access TW mashups on the LAN which bypass SSO. I have done the following:1. created an appKey and can set an expiry and userID to it.2. Checked the boxes in the platform system settings to "Allow Request Method Switch" and "Allow Application Key As URL Parameter"3. Added ApplicationKeySettings: enabled=true to the sso-settings.json file4. Opened an URL on the android tablets in this format: "https://<ThingWorxServer>:<ThingWorxPort>/Thingworx/Mashups/<MashupName>?appKey=<AppKey>&x-thingworx-session=true" I am still getting directed to the SSO SAML sign-in page. I can't seem to find any other documentation on how to use the appKey approach and SSO at the same time.  Does anyone have any other insights? We are on version 9.3.8 Thanks!   

Hi all,I have the situation that after creating and deleting a bundle I am left with new cable segments (one in each cable where the budle previously was), which leaves me with three segments per cable.The segmentation sometimes leads to unwanted effects when moving location points.The use case is to lengthen or shorten the bundle sleeve. This creates new segments each time.Is there a way to go back to the original state (one segment, or join segments into one?

Hi, In some of our assemblies we use varying lengths of the same item, defined in a family table. We have been able to drive a parameter by the length of the instances no problem, and this places the different lengths of the items as separate lines in the BOM as desired. However, we would like to have a separate table which shows the total required length of that item. For example if we use two 100mm and one 200m strip of the same tape we require a table to display the part number for the tape and the total length of 400mm. In some assemblies we use also use multiple kinds of tape which we would like to display all in one table. Is there a way to combine parameters between parts with the same name and description and display as a single item in a table?  thanks    

Good morning, we have a problem with local cache sync on Windchill 10.2; if I access Windchill from different workstations i presume that files should be the same but, for some reason, they are not. it seems that local cache cannot be synchronized.do you have suggestions?
