Why doesn’t Mathcad Prime 11.0.1 no longer accept ASCII code [13] for carriage return (new line)?It appears to work in version 10.0.1 but not in 11.0.1. Is this true for everyone else or just me?I have both versions on the same computer--is there something I am missing?

Hi there,I am trying to fetch the required gross concrete cross sectional area of an RCC column using the SYMBOLIC Solver function as shown below. But I could not figure out what is causing this abnormal output. Could someone kindly clarify this issue? I would be much obliged.   

What I have here are two measured displacements over the same time with an equal interval of 1 second. Both oscillations tend to approach the resting asymptote, which is the same for both. The first one at the end of measurement didnt manage to approach, but the second did.For my task, I had to find periods and amplitudes of oscillations. To get periods, I simply used the difference between two interceptions of oscillation with asymptote via root() function. One of the arguments for this function is a guess points between which this interception should be met. For those points I pick local extremas (or peaks shortly). To get them, I need to know the first derivative of the oscillation function and look for the points where derivative becomes zero. But in my case, I have only empirical data, which I have to use to get proper constants a and w for the oscillation equation.Based on this, I created splines for both data sets, and started taking derivatives to find a slope.To get local

Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: I am using two groups within the context of a product in my Windchill instance. One group is a member of the "Members" role and one group is a member of the "Designer" role. None of these roles have the "Rename" action enabled in the "Configure Actions for Roles" table.Description: Both groups are able to see an option for "Rename" in the "Actions" menu of a part instance contained within my product. Both groups are members of a license profile which provides the "Rename" action to them. However, according to https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS110240?source=search , "Configure Actions for Roles setting will override Profile setting". The groups I have referred to are not assigned to any other role which has the "Rename" action enabled. Can anybody explain why users in these groups may be able to see the "Rename" option?

I'm using MathCAD 9.0.0.0. I have 2 equations with 2 unknowns. I need solve for "DF" and "DG." I've attached 2 files. The file I need help with is "MET211_ProjectP2_Sections.mcdx." The other file "MET211_ProjectP2_Joints.mcdx" I attached as reference because I already solved for these variable using another method. Those of you familiar with Statics know there is the method of joints and the method of sections. Not that you need to know Statics or need the reference file to show me how problem solver works, I just added it incase it helps you understand my situation better. The way this was demonstrated was the demonstrator had a fancy calculator with a "problem solver" feature that allowed him to plug in 2 equations to solve for 2 unknowns. I don't have a fancy calculator. All I have is MathCAD, so I hope this can do it. Thank you,     Brent

HelloI am using advanced control text box with python to do conditional formatting. Unfortunately if the variable is undefined I cannot reset the formatting to warn the user something is wrong with the control which results in previous value being displayed. Our Kepware server (v6.16.203.0) is connected with a Siemens PLC 1500 with the Siemens Plus Suite - (KWP-SIEMP0-PRD KWM-SIEMP0-ATT) driver. The PLC has defined a datatype WString of 10 characters long (24 bytes). Which datatype should we define in the Kepware server as the datatype wstring does not exist (only string). When we define the tag as DB1101.STRING0034.24 we receive no error but when reading the value from the plc we get a blank result. If we define as bytearay or hexstring e.g. DB1101.HEXSTRING0034.24 then we get the value of the PLC returned as 000A0000300068000... which seems as the correct hex representation of the PLC value. However it is not clear how to write a value to the wstring. We tried several notations with the Quick client, but always get errors like: Failed on item <tagname> synchronous write.Changing the PLC program or address types is not an option - we can adjust or IT application (=opclient) but need to know how to write to this datatype wstring

Is the "Creo University Free Edition" available for all students, or does my university need to have some licenses for it? I am asking because my university for sure does not have any licenses for Creo. But if it would be free to use for all students, then I could still use it. I am from Germany. I have copied and pasting equations from Mathcad 15 to paste in Word document. The word document will be edited to be part of a book. the Editor told me that the quality of the equations was not good, that only had 96 dpi of resolution (I do not know what this mean). But for print, the quality of the equation, as seeing in the word document, has to be 300 dpi. Does anyone have idea how I can improve the quality of copying and pasting equations in word documents? thank you in advance,   Rogelio

Hi, we are using the "Import Status" to identify between releases of the supplier what has changed between two deliveries. Unfortunately the import status is not automatically cleared when importing a new ReqIF.What does this mean? We have to go through 50k items (26 trackers) and clear the status. We also tried this via script but this takes longer then doing it by hand. Is there any best practice on how to do this smarter/faster? Is there even any update planned on improving this in the import mechanism directly? Thank you,Manuel 

Dear ptc communityI am currently using the U-CON driver in Kepware to collect data from a device over UDP (not TCP). The system works stably for the most part, but intermittently, the tag values stop updating in Kepware without any errors or changes in status. The data quality remains "Good", but the values become frozen.To clarify: I’ve verified using both Wireshark and Kepware's diagnostics tools that UDP packets are still being received from the device at the expected interval and in the correct format.Despite this, Kepware stops updating tag values, and there is no indication of failure or timeout within the application.Only a restart or reinitialization of the U-CON driver restores normal operation.The device always ends its transmission with a consistent termination character. I’ve tried both termination-based and fixed-length receive modes, but the issue still occurs occasionally.I would appreciate your help with the following:What could cause the U-CON driver to stop updating v

hi guys, Could you know whether Kepware Server can support communication between Siemens PLC and Siemens Desigo CC via BACnet/IP? Although Siemens provides a BACnet gateway for BACnet integration, its network configuration does not comply with IT security requirements. Hi,   We are migrating from Postgres to InfluxDB for time-series data. Thingworx will stay on Postgres, but time-series data will be logged in InfluxDB.   We are trying to set up the InfluxDB on the Amazon Timestream. We are looking for some best practices for Influx on the Amazon Timestream and what its cons are in terms of the PTC best practices of Thingworx.   And does anyone know how many Measurements can be in a single bucket of Thingowrx? When I find a new function and want to know what it does and what its arguments are, I go Resources > Help and enter the function name. Let's say I enter "augment". When I click search, I get dozens of hits and it takes me a while to find the one that actually explains how to use the function. Is there a more straightforward way to get right to the usage of the function? I'm using Prime 11.

Hello. We created a job order with ID 343 in the RTPPM System. However, when we tried to open this job order, the job order with ID E53435P001T001 was opened instead. Apart from containing the number 343 in it, there is no similarity between them. In fact, the job order with ID E53435P001T001 is not even assigned to the machine that was opened.At first, we thought this was due to editing the job order creation mashup, but we realized that the same issue occurs even when we create the job order using the StartJobOrder_JOR service inside the machine’s thing.Also, sometimes job orders that have no such similarity with each other are opened in place of one another.Another issue is that the description field of the opened job order becomes empty. The synchronization on the machine’s thing is turned off.

Hi dear, I'm having trouble with the "for" loop when I create a function and try to graph a spectrum as a function of time.I have MathCAD version 11. It worked in the old version, but in this latest version, it shows me an error message stating that the variable T is not defined.Why is this happening?
