Hi, I have been creating sweeps of a small rectangular sketch attached to a spiral trajectory. I am trying to create a bimetallic coil, like the one in the photo below. I wish to model it in Ansys. However, to do this there needs to be two different materials (i.e. red and blue in the below photo are separate materials, and therefore separate objects).My problem is that I have created the two spiral sweeps, and I'm having difficulty creating an assembly of the two joined together. They tend to overlap at the very center, and are constantly at 'partially constrained' status.If anyone could help I would be very very grateful. The only constraints are that the entire assembly must fit into an envelope size of 50mm x 20mm x 15mm, so i left my outer spiral sweep with an outer diameter of 20mm. And that each material must be no less than 0.5mm thick. Thanks!

Hi Everyone,   I'm trying to call a service whose name will be stored in a variable. For example, here's how I would normally call the service GetJobOrder:     let params = {UID: '7'}; const result = me.GetJobOrder(params);     However, I want to be able to execute a service if the service name is stored in a variable rather than explicitly typed out. For example, this is what I've tried:   let scriptName = 'GetJobOrder'; let params = {UID: '7'}; const result = me.svc[scriptName](params);     I wasn't able to get this to work as shown below:      I tried various ways to try to call the service but none were successful:      Does anyone know if this is possible? How do I enable tooltips next to the cursor when I hover over an icon? My system only shows them by the message area, which is counter-intuitive to me since the other dozen or so programs I use daily display them next to the cursor.   Using Creo 5.0.0

Hi,   I want to write a code where for some vector [25 15 23 20 .. n ] i want to find if the ratios of the adjacent values exceed 1.2 of each other. The output result would be like "Yes" or "No". how do i go about doing that?   For example: for vector [15 25 20], because 25/15>1.2, I want the answer as "Yes". But I would also want the same answer "Yes" if it was [25 15 20] because in this case also for the adjacent values 25/15>1.2.   Thanks.   Edit1: added "ratios of the" Edit2: added example

Say I have an InfoTable called searchResults.  I just realized that searchResults.length returns the same as searchResults.rows.length and I can access the row data in a loop using searchResults.rows[i].fieldname or just searchResults[i].fieldname.  What is the difference, if any, and has it always worked this way?  I'm using 8.5.1, not sure it works like this in other releases.  

When I open my mashup in chrome, it is not loaded correctly 40 % of the time, see the screenshots. I do not get any error in the logs. I'm using Thingworx 8.5. Does anybody know how to solve that problem?

Units in annotations and repeat regions is very weird. I made an assembly where I used component parameters to set tightening torques for screws. I set the Unit Quantity of the parameter to "Torque/Moment" and get to choose the unit "m N" (bit weird; it's usually expressed as "Nm", but whatever). So far so good.   To test it, I set the value to 10 on all my screws. Great. Now I'll add it to my repeat region. I add a column showing "&asm.mbr.cparam.torque". The result? 9999999994.879. What? Where did this come from? Where is my 10 Nm? Looks like Creo shows the value in a different unit. My suspicions are confirmed when I try adding a parameter with the default unit (mm^2 g / sec^2) instead. Indeed, here the value is conserved, and is displayed as "10.000" in my repeat region.   Hm, ok. Let's see the units, then. I change my repeat region to display "&asm.mbr.cparam.ptc_unit.torque". I have a datatable with productname as primary key. i have two list widgets, one for product name and one for quantity. Now, for examples, if i select a product,say, a PCB and quantity as 2, then my datatable should make 2 entries having product name as PCB only. how do i do that? 

Hello everyone,   I have a Collection widget set as Table (view), so the repeated mashup fils the whole row. The repeated mashup is advanced/new responsive. I created it such a way that the height of the mashup extend according to the warped widget and containers (yes, containers warp by extended the height without scrolling, thanks to CSS addition). Because of this, when my row get thiner, the mashup warps well but the height of the row stays fixed and a scroll is displayed. I want my cell to be automatically extended with the height of the mashup (the thiner it is, the higher the cell should be). I tried to use the CellHeightField to have a flex height. I noticed that only number is accepted. For example, if I put in the field "200", it is consider as 200px. If I put "200px", the collection displayed nothing. I tried 100%, also doesn't work. I also tried "max-content" (it works in CSS like "height: max-content;") but not taken in account. So I tried to see the CSS of the collect

Hi ,I have a requirement:-In a workflow for a particular activity , when a user recieves the task , user should see two attributes 1. Company 2. Country in the task page.Also the input for the attributes should ONLY be a drop down list.In the Workflow template , i have created two variables in the activity of type name : wt.org.WTUser to achieve the drop down but this only gives the names of users in the Windchill system in the drop down list.Please suggest. Hello I'm working to modify the HTML5 video widget I was able to add an input event "Play" (bindable to a mashup event) that does the play of the video.   I'm now trying to add a bindable output parameter that is the length of the video (this is available with the "duration" property of the HTML5 video object) I added this param correctly (VideoLength), I can see this on the mashup and I bound it to a label to see the value), I can set and see a "test" value with this.setProperty('VideoLength', 100); executed when a new video file is set   but I don't know how to retrieve the "duration" DOM property ... it should be somethign like this.setProperty('VideoLength', ???.duration???);   can someone help ?

How to create Notification triggers from Javascript services? I tried the pair "CreateNotificationContent / CreateNotificationDefinition", but it doesn't seem to create a trigger. What's the difference between NotificationContent and Trigger? How to access and/or update NotificationDefinition objects from Javascript service? The entity collection "NotificationDefinitions" doesn't seem to be exposed in scripting context. We have 5000 things, each one with approximately 10 alerts (each firing once per week on average), and we'll need to configure notifications on them programmatically (users can choose which notifications from which devices they want to receive), potentially resuling in 50K NotificationDefinition objects, each one with a single trigger defined. Why is it that whenever i type 1000lb equals to i get 0.102 (s^2/m)*kip, while i want the output as 1000lb=1kip. Why is it that I can't get a simplified answer in kip or something other than a fundamental unit including acceleration.   Thank you.

Hello,   I am trying to make an assembly for a chain drive which consists of hundreds of chain links. Each individual link is connected to the previous with a axis constraint at the pin-hole. How can this be patterned to avoid linking each individually?   Otherwise, is there another way (a proper way) to make a chain drive in creo?

We have been using Reference Balloons on detail views for years and they have been appearing with the letters REF under the balloon, which is what we want.Today, one of the engineers went to add a reference balloon and instead of REF, he got "Default". I created some new parts, a drawing and a detail view, added a reference balloon and got the "default", also.If I add Reeference_bom_ballon_text to my drawing options and set the value to REF, a new reference balloon comes in like it did before.What is strange is that we have not updated our Creo2 install in about 6 months, so why is the software suddenly giving us things we don't expect.Creo2 m220Windchill10.0 m040

Last week I was exploring the PTC Windchill site, and I think there was a page where you could try REST API calls to a Windchill server using Swagger. Hi, I am getting the structure from api initially for 3 levels in the tree advanced grid widget. Now, I want to pass the expanded node Id to other service (getting data from api) which is fetching data for 1 levels only and this service, I will bind to child data in the tree advanced grid widget. I tried Selected row, but here if I am selecting the row then only id is getting passed to other service. How to pass the id of the last level selected node to child service to fetch the details.   Please let me know how to achieve this!  

Hi everyone! This can be a very simple question for those of you that are expert in signal processing. Suppose I have two time series y1(i) and y2(i) corresponding to two sensors, affected with noise and measurements errors. Known of course is also x(i), the times of the measurements. It can be assumed that the sampling frequency fs is constant, so that x(i)=(1/fs)*i. Is there a simple way to estimate mathematically / statistically the time delay (if one exists) between the two measures? For example the "human eye" could see that one signal, if shifted a certain Delta-x, pretty well correlates the other one.   Is it possible, even if the two signals have different numerical magnitudes (say, the second signal is not only delayed but also weaker and maybe with a different constant term) Somehow I believe this should be possible using the correl(y1,y2) function but some quick tests that I made do not seem to work. After merging all of my checkpoints on my test server, Windchill HTTP Server no longer wants to start.  It wasn't giving me any logs either so I tried starting it from a command prompt and got the error message that says something was already using Port 80.  It was find before I did the merge, but now every time I start the computer System is taking Port 80.   I found a really old, WC 9.1, instruction on how to change it, but was wondering if anyone had any instructions on how to change from Port 80 in Windchill that are newer, like for any version of 11.  I'm on 11.2.   I do have a help call open, but once in a while I like to see which is faster.
