We are looking at moving our younger students to use Onshape instead of Creo. Mainly as it is web based so student can use a home as it wont be limited to a Windows PC. However for our   A-Level and GCSE Students Creo would still be the go to programme due to the increased features it offers and the rendering capabilities. I understand that OnShape can export STEP IGNS files etc but is there anyway Creo can open an Onshape file which can be Edited  in Creo Ie retains the model history. On  one webpage I found  it doesn’t mention the option to export directly to Creo   But I can see this option on the education version. Is this a possible future update to allow both to work together?

Hi guys.   I have a quick question about simplified reps in drawings. I know you can change the simplified representation for new views in the drawing models sidebar, but I need to know if there is a way to change the representation for already created views. I have a part that was drawn as the master rep, but for a long list of reasons, that iteration of the part is now a simplified representation. Is there a way to keep the drawing the same? In other words, can I change all those views from the master rep, to a simplified rep without deleting and redrawing them all?   Best Regards, Alex

Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: users can not see the library unless they are in the Organization Administrator groupDescription: First I am NOT a windchill expert, far from it, I just need this to work.We upgraded from an older version and I am trying to cleanup the previous configuration. All users were administrators in the old config and when I put them in the correct groups they can not see the library or the library only list 37 objects out of the over 1000 objects. If I put the user in the Organization Administrator group they can see all the library objects.Is this a permissions issue?What would need to change?    

Hello colleagues of Partslink, Does anyone have imported a csv/xml of Partslinks attributes massively with a global enumeration already created in Windchill? What do you write the specific collumn?Is it the internal name of the Enumeration created? I would assume yes. Thanks!!

I can only find one question posed on this and the meaning of the green question mark wasn't provided. Nothing in the online help either. Mathcad also indicates that there are errors in the included document, but there aren't. Wasn't sure if the green ! was related to that. The included/reference document expects to see some values defined before it because the included document does calculations based on the pre-defined values. So in actual use with required variable definitions provided prior to insertion of reference doc, everything should be fine. When you drill down into the reference document, Mathcad acts like it knows nothing about the previously defined variable (which sort of makes sense) and gives me errors (red boxes) on some of the calculations I can't remember, but I thought Mathcad v15 had an "if defined..." function so you could make local definitions if something wasn't already defined. Am I remembering correctly? I haven't seen such a function in Prime (v11)

Hi, How can Mathcad 15 skip steps in a loop with skip stepping dictated within the loop? Here increasing i by two inside the loop only affects the one step not the counter i which jumps back to 7? Any ideas as want to skip one or two loop steps within loop dictated by calculations within the loop.   Cheers Terry

Version: Windchill 12.1   Use Case: Upgrading to 13.0.2 requires change object links be converted to flexible links before UpgradeManager can be run. Description: When I run the Flexible Change Converter in report mode, it says I have 164 links to be converted. When I run the convertlinks action, it fails and says that I have an enumerated type of URGENT that is not defined. I have added URGENT to RequestPrioirtyRB, ComplexityRB and IssuePriorityRB and it still fails. I have deleted ALL Change Notices in the system and the report still shows 164 and fails with the error of unable to resolve the URGENT enumerated type. The change notices were created back in WIndchill 11 or 11.1 days (2017-2018) and have been upgraded since then to 12.0 and now in 12.1. The 12.1 is a test system using the 12.0 production data. I have had a call open with PTC since early December on this and no resolution from them. I would think that deleting all of the Change Notices would allow the convert links

Hello,I have created a small C++/CLI library which make calls to a C# DLL, this library works fine if I call it from any other C++ project, but it does not work if I call it from my Toolkit application (based on Creo Toolkit 10.0.6.0).The application compiles and links fine, but it fails to start from the Auxiliary Applications menu:  Checking that trailfile info, I only can see these lines related to my app not saying any clue about the possible root cause error:  What I'm thinking is that Creo doesn't support Toolkit apps involved with C++/CLI code, but I would like to confirm that, do some of you have experience this? Thanks.       

Hi. Was wondering if anybody can help. I am an admin of a new Windchill instance. I am a site admin and also an admin at two organization levels. My account is a "Product Creator" in one of these organizations. I am also a user listed in the table under "Participant Administration" at the organization level. My account is a member to the "PTC Windchill Base License" group and is also assigned to the "PTC Windchill Administrator" profile. The license profile called  "PTC Windchill Base License" is enabled and the system is recognizing that I'm consuming a license. I have Windchill PDMLink installed. Yet, I am still unable to create a new library or product. The button simply isn't displaying when I go to "Recent Products" > "View All". Can anybody explain what I am missing please?

Version: Windchill 12.0   Use Case: Automating BOM imports from an external process Description: I have a tool that exports out an Excel BOM to be imported into Windchill. Has anyone worked on a method for "import from spreadsheet" that is started from an outside process? For instance my tool could run some script that would automate the import from spreadsheet workflow in Windchill for a given Excel file path.   Has anyone worked on a script that does the import automation?   If it helps, we use single sign on so the user would not have to authenticate with Windchill.

Profile Milling with Tool Compensation and Ramp Entry or helical for Internal Profile Hello CREO Users,I am working on a milling operation for an internal profile (similar to a valve seat geometry) in Creo Manufacturing. My objective is to machine the internal contour using tool radius compensation (CUTCOM) and to ensure smooth ramp transitions between Z-level passes or using helical folling the profile to avoid marks on the final surface.I have tried the following approaches:The Cut Line strategy allows helical movements and smooth transitions between passes, but it does not support tool radius compensation (CUTCOM). This is a requirement for my process.The Profile Milling strategy does support CUTCOM, but it does not offer ramp or spiral entry between Z-level cuts. As a result, the tool plunges vertically at each level, which causes unwanted marks and steps in the internal diameter of the part.I've tried to explore all the SCAN_TYPE parameters. Hello Community,is it possible in Codebeamer to share resources across multiple projects?I have two projects in Codebeamer which use the same machines for tasks like mixer, heater, plumber, etc.I want to avoid to define machines in both (or more) projects, so looking for a way how to place them in one place and share it across projects.Additionally change for resource in Project A will be visible also in shared resource and Project B and vice versa.   thank you

Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: When checking in new objects into windchillDescription: I am trying to check in a large number (>1000) objects into windchill from Creo.  When I upload and associate the parts it defaults to "Part". I cannot see a way to change this in any settings or preferences and it looks like the table requires each object to be editing manually. These parts are being used with WNC bridge so they MUST be an "Electrical Part". Any ideas how to do this?

Hello, I am trying to build a Mathcad sheet to find pile capacity. The maximum number of soil layers available is nine (9). The user can choose to use all or, some of the layers within this 9. I am trying to build a logic to assign unit weight based on the layers I have subdivided to. The issue is if all layers are not being inputted, then the logic for unit weight says "Array Index invalid". Please help on this issue, my version is Prime 10. Thanks

Hello, I am trying to make a fix for a turbine with some complex geometry in Creo 10.0. I don't want to just sketch a shape and extrude it, but rather I am trying to get it to follow a curve. This feels like it should be easy, but I am struggling with it. This is the shape and that is the type of curve I want it to follow. What is the best way to accomplish this. 

ThingWorx 9.7.1-b346 I have a mashup which is to contain multiple collections that will contain multiple cells each. The number of cells will depend on the user selected input parameters at run time; anywhere from 3 cells up to 12 is the most (I believe). Each of the collection widgets are using the same child mashup and will use the same configuration however will use data from different sources.My collections will be in a table format with each cell forming a row the full width of the container. My child mashup and the collection settings are such that each cell needs to be 100px tall, any shorter causes visibility issues for parts of the cell/child mashup.I need all collection cell rows to be visible at once, not hidden outside of the limits of a container requiring the user to scroll down in the collection container. With multiple collection cells having independent scrolls this can become a significant issue. I have not been able to have all cells visible without scrolling th

"Manuel Mode" is activated by itself during a job order run, without any error log. Manuel Mode button is not clicked. It's not a periodic issue, happens once a day or week. What can be the reason? 

Hello All Depending on the magnitudes of the intersection drifts, Drift1 and 2, the supporting member ( support 0,1,2,..) might have a uniform snow load from drift#1 and an additional triangular drift from drift#2.  I still have few "minor" issues.  I have some questions inside the sheet-Prime 9 in red text.  Thanks,Sam

We are currently displaying 3D images in ACD 7.2. I understand that in ACD, users can rotate the 3D image using the middle button of a mouse.However, when our users work outside, they often only bring a laptop and do not use an external mouse.In such cases, we would like to request the addition of operation patterns that allow users to rotate the 3D image even without an external mouse. If that is difficult to implement, we would appreciate it if you could add more orientation patterns as an alternative to the rotation function.Specifically, we would be grateful if you could add more isometric view patterns in addition to the existing ISO1 and ISO2 angles.
