Creo has since creo 11 the possibility to use tables as an annotation in a 3D Model and to show them on combined states. The issue is you cant show these tables directly in a 2D drawing files, so you have to copy the table on the harddisk and then to reimport it in the drawing file without a depenmdence. The idea is it that if there are tables shown on combined states that they can be also shown like normal dimensions and symbols on drawing in an associative way. so that if someone edite the table in the model the drawing will show an updated version.
We just switched from Creo 7 to Creo 10. There used to be a way to import a saved drawing sketch into a new drawing. I can’t locate that function in Creo 10. Any help would be appreciated.
We are using two life cycle for our product. CAD item and WT partCAD item which is used for Drawing release- Concept/ Release/InworkWT part which is for shop floor people to Identify wehter the product is Prototype/production.For CAD item to show inthe drawing - we use &PTC_WM_LIFECYCLEFor WT part to show in the drawing - we use &PTC_WM_PART_STATE_FOR_DRAWINGwe cant add this parameter in the drawing. its throws error (The name is reserved ).Please help us.Thanks in Advance.
I’d wanted to model one of those twisted flouresent light bulbs for a while, thought I’d do it for fun. Only, instead of a simple barrel shape like they are, I made it look (though not measured) like a normal incandescent bulb. I actually HAD a watch with radium numbers and hour and minute hand tips that was given to me as a kid by my grandfather (RIP). When the big radium paranoia happened in the late ‘60’s or early ‘70’s my mom made my dad throw it away. Bummer.
Hi,I installed Creo 13.4.1.0. When I click on "Creo AI Assistant," the program prompts me to log in; I enter the same email and password I use for the PTC portal, but it doesn't work.Has anyone else experienced this? Do I need to create new login credentials? Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer.
Hello all,I’m interesting in hearing from anyone that has used the Creo UG/NX Collaboration tool?We are starting manufacturing a product in the UK that is currently manufactured by our sister company in Germany. They have all the cad data in NX, but I think they use windchill as data management. The question is, does this extension really allow you to edit the NX data in CREO. I have seen something similar in Solidworks where it interrogates the CREO model and basically redraws the part in Solidworks automatically. This produced something that looked correct on the outside but the way the model was generated didn’t make much sense and consequently made editing difficult.I suspect that I’m going to have to redraw the parts on CREO manually as they are mostly sheet metal components, and I am doubtful that the conversion will be seamless.Does anyone have experience of this? Bearing in mind these converted files will be used for manufacture and be subject to revisons. Brian MenaghDesi
Hi everyone, i have tried all settings in Creo illustrator standard (12.1) and have changed my line thickness for 2D and it still no luck in seeing two different line thickness when opened in Adobe illustrator.Below is what i have done.Render mode set to HLR Change pen settings - In File/Options/illustration/Pens/Thick/edit - changed 0.35 - Apply Change pen settings - In File/Options/illustration/Pens/Thin/edit - changed 0.25 - Apply Export to svg - File/Save Figure as/Save as illustration file/File name - Tick Thick/Thin lines - Tick Polylines - Tick Fixed Size - Include hotspots for callouts - Tick Combine hot spots for same item. then click “OK” Open file in Adobe illustrator and all lines are the same thickness, so no difference in line thicknessNOTE: Only other change is my 3D page size to W170mm x H242mm When viewing in Creo Illustrator HLR i do not see line thickness difference either, not sure if you are supposed to.Thanks for any helpKind regards Gareth
Select multiple parts within an assembly and pull up all constraints in one go for all components selected. The idea is one can delete all constraints for the components selected in one go, or delete only a few of the constraints for some of the components selected
I am using Windchill Service Information Manager Release 12.1 and Datecode with CPS 12.1.2.3 The Windchill Method Servers is crashing or fluctuating between Up and Down states. We are experiencing unexpected restarts and service interruptions. Please see the attached Method Server and Server Manager logs. After this we add-on the Heap size for server. We are currently considering how best to design a frame using Creo Multibody, and we would like to ask for your advice on the most appropriate workflow. From a design perspective, the frame can essentially be considered as one box-shaped structure. Therefore, we would prefer to design the entire frame as a Multibody Part rather than creating and managing multiple individual Parts from the beginning. However, from a manufacturing perspective, the actual frame is divided into four sections: the top, bottom, left side, and right side. Each section is manufactured and welded separately, and these four sections are eventually assembled to form the completed box-shaped frame. This creates a difference between the way we would like to design the frame and the way it is actually manufactured. At the moment, we are not sure which approach would be the most appropriate in Creo: Keep the frame as a single Multibody Part throughout the design process and somehow use the individual bodies for manufactu
In Creo 3D MBD, when a dimensions is created (Annotate->Dimension) a Select Reference window will popup.Default options active is Select a surface means you can select only surfaces.Designers would like to Default to be active Select a reference means you can select even edge, planes, axis or surfaces without switching between Entities or Surfaces. It’s frustrated for end users always when a dimensions is created to change this Reference type.
Hi all.Can someone please help me with this please?I have a part in my assembly that i want to add grease grooves to the bore 6mm wide x 3mm deep.I’ve tried sketching on vertical plane and then projecting the sketch onto the bore surface - which works, but then i cant extrude that projected sketch.I’m using Creo 11.Thanks
Hello,How can I make the machines I have visible in the milling work center assembly tab in the milling environment? I have machine assembly files downloaded from Grabcad and from this link (Article - CS314559 - Information about Tool motion Simulation and library of Basic machine assemblies to show Machine Kinematics within Pro/NC). Many CAM software programs show machine movement, could you help me with how to do this in Creo?
Hi,My async OTK C++ application calls:cpppfcAsyncConnection_ptr conn = pfcAsyncConnection::Connect("", "", "", 10);This fails every single time on Creo 11 with pfcXToolkitError, GetErrorCode() = -48 (PRO_TK_CANT_MODIFY), GetToolkitFunctionName() = "ProEngineerConnect".The exact same code worked fine on Creo 6 and 7 — it only failed occasionally there when a feature dialog was open, never unconditionally like this.Already checked:PRO_COMM_MSG_EXE is set correctly (full path + filename), file exists nmsd.exe and pro_comm_msg.exe are both running No Windchill/PDM involved, purely local models My app isn't registered as an auxiliary application (no protk.dat loaded via config.pro)Question: Did something change in Creo 11's async connection handling (permissions, registration requirements, etc.) that would cause Connect() to fail unconditionally like this? Is protk.dat registration now required for async connect to work? Thanks!
Hello All,CREO 10 user here. I have hundreds of models that are declared to notebooks (layouts). All of these hundreds of models are declared to and use parameters from the notebook, in their respective relations and program. Is there a way to find all the parts and assemblies that a specific notebook parameter are used in?The only thing I can seem to find is in the notebook relations, under the “show” menu, there is a “where used.” When i choose this, it shows that my specific parameter is used nowhere, but i have an assembly open in that same session that uses it. I also know of at least 3 assemblies that use this specific parameter but trying to see if its used on any other models or assemblies I am unaware of. I did not create all these assemblies and parts, just maintaining them.Thank for any help!!

Hi there, using Creo Parametric 8.0.4.0… I am fixing a BOMs region by using the Fix Index in the Repeat Region command. It is saying the region is successfully fixed, but when I go to my .asm and place a new component in the assembly (bottom of the model tree) it is taking up one of the already empty f/n slots. My .asm is at rev C with many empty f/n slots before and after the slot it wants to keep populating. I have 157 f/n’s.
I've created several mapkeys lately so I thought I'd share some general tips I learned to write it down for next time. Please share your own tips below to expand the collection. This was done on Creo 3 M060 but the ideas should hopefully be not specific to that.Mapkey Writing/Editing TipsGeneral Tips:Mapkeys often break when upgrading between Creo Versions (Creo 3 vs Creo 1) but they can save you a lot of time in the year or two between versions.Open the mapkey menu by searching for Mapkeys in the upper right. Also, if someone knows how find the Mapkey menu behind when its behind other Creo Windows, please share. Record commands from the RMB or the Quick Access Toolbar to eliminate extra Mapkey lines that just moves around Creo for no reason. Most commands can be launched without being on a specific interface tab.Mapkeys skip any commands they cannot execute. This lets users add in some logic to close menus that sometime popup or d
Hello,We received from customer Bend table in format which SolidWorks read well, so we are trying to apply that in Creo (Creo 11.0.3), but as we noticed Creo has a little bit different format. It has radius and thickness and values inside are bend allowance if i understood correctly, and the table from SW have thickness, radius , bend angle (which is not affecting k-factor if u see table, so it can be ignored), and k factor as value derived (0.618, 0.619, 0.693....). Does anyone know how that should be applied in Creo and have maybe some examples, or is bend table a right way in Creo to apply this.
Hi everyone, I have a very small part (see attached file) under 140 N, (40 Ni Cr Mo 3)How you analize this test?I tried standard analisys definition and Non linear/large deformation: I obtain the same resultsand i think is not good Can You try to analize it?Thank you for helping! Federico
Hello I have a lot of measured points and like to create a best fit plane through these points.Does Creo provide such an option? Many thanks in advance for your help.Regards Pius
Hello Creo 12 users,I’ve recently been having a problem with creating curves. When I go to Options for the curves and adjust the points, the curve jumps back to a different shape after I click OK. It looks as though the points aren’t being saved.I’ve attached a video.Does anyone recognise this problem and have a solution? Thanks and best regards,Ramon Bohne(Siemens Energy)
Hello everyone,I’m facing a problem yet again: I have modelled a door system in Creo Parametric, consisting of a door frame and a door leaf. The dimensions for the frame and the door leaf are specified in the assembly’s relationships. To make the assembly easier to use, I now wanted to define it as a family table, so that I have individual assemblies for specific assembly scenarios and can work with them. However, the individual parts do not change when I alter the instance’s parameters. The background is as follows: I would like to be able to insert any adjustments to the relationship logic just once, rather than having to insert them multiple times, as would be the case with copied components. So the situation is that I currently have one System.asm consisting of a frame.prt and leaf.prt. I now want multiple instances for the system.asm for various mounting situations of additional parts without copying the system.asm.Do you understand my problem and could you perhaps help me out? I am working with a model that has a curved body or feature, that looks likes it was created with a resolve. I checked the fastener hole edge curves on both sides of this feature, which is nonplanar. One side of the hole is made up of two split arc edges. The other side of the hole is made up of two spit spline edges. The spine edges is an issue in creating a fastener in Simulate. I tied to use the Round to edit the spines but if this is the correct tool I can’t figure out how to replace the spine edge with arc edges. Does anyone know the approach to doing this? I only have the Creo Parametric not any advanced design add-on licenses.
Hi there. I built a pretty typical 4-axis desktop CNC machine with an ‘A’ axis which rotates in the positive X direction and controlled by Mach3 on a USB controller. Overall it works well for any 3 axis milling/roughing/surfacing operations. See below configuration.Unfortunately when I go to set up an indexed 4-axis program, the included post processors in Creo skip the NC path’s rotate command:AAXIS, ATANGL, -90.000000and do not include it in the exported .tap/ G-code. I assume this is normal as most of the included post processors are only for 3-axis machines. However, I have attempted to “roll my own” using the included option file developer, turn on a 4th axis option, and using the UNCX01.P11 post processor as a base model, but no luck so far.The material removal simulation in Creo shows the appropriate rotation happening. I can also manually type in the “A -90.0” command into the exported G-code in the proper spot, which works great on the machine and allows me to accomplish my g
