hello,is it possibile to visit dimensions from a assembly drawing and get information about from which PART the dimensions is from? As far as I understand Creo it works as following:open assembly filecreate new drawing modelassembly-model (as one piece/element/whatever) is connected as drawing modelIf I try to visit dimensions I found "ProDrawingDimensionVisit" for reference (manually added) dimensions in the drawing and "ProDrawingSolidsVisit" for the dimensions from the drawing model. But both methods dont deliver any information from which part the dimension is driven from.E.g. just for assembly model (NOT drawing) it works just fine if I do:traverse through assembly-Model via "ProMdlDependenciesList"for each assembly model run again "ProMdlDependenciesList" (recursion)for each part model, call "ProSolidDimensionVisit"I cant use the same in drawing mode because I need some extra information (like in which view the dimension is) so I have to use "ProDrawingSolidsVisit". Hello.I have assembly with subassemblies and need to create a copy of one of the subassemblies. The top assembly is open.When I open the subbassembly and use save a backup and point to the backup directory it saves all the assembly include all the parts.It's ok but the opened subassembly and parts in the session points afterwards to the files in the backup dir. It means when I continue to work with the subassembly (or assembly) the changes are saved to backup dir. and not to the working dir.(note from help: "If you make changes to a model after backing it up and then save the model, the changes are always saved in the backup directory.")To continue working I have to erase the top asm from the session and open again....Is it possible to do this without reopening asm?thanks for helpmichalThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I have noticed that the Organization entity contains a few bugs, for example, when using the AddOrganizationalUnit() service we cannot add a node of the same name that has previously been added (even if we have deleted the node and its members from the Organization).To get around this we decided to restart Tomcat and can now no longer save the Organization. Hi can anyone tell me the difference between to two configs pro_colormap_path and global_appearance_file ?I found that he first one the path (of course) where Creo looks for a files namedappeatrance.dmt to lod wehn Creo starts.Is this correct ?So whats the other for ? global_appearance_file also leads to a dmt file.Is this just added to the first one ?

I changed my wireless card from an n to an ac card. The software did not work when I did this. I changed the card back again to the n card and the software worked so the card change is the cause of your software not working. I don't want to use the n card on the computer anymore can I use another licence on my computer so I can use the ac card?

I'm having trouble getting a volume sequence to output with a G41. I have the comp parameter turned ON and a small lead in/lead out radius value. I also have a small .010 tangent step with a 90 deg approach and exit. I've used volume sequences before with C-comp successfully. Don't know what I'm doing wrong this time? In the presentation this morning on the new Arbortext 7.0 version, two questions1. Will Arbortext 7.0 work with Arbortext Content manager or just with Arbortext SIM2. Will 7.0 work with ACM, but some of the new features mentioned as working with SIM will not work if you have ACM.If I want to upgrade to AT 7.0 then will I have to upgrade my ACM to PDMlink/SIM. I will need to know as we start budgets for next year very soon and I would have to include these costs.Ray

I have lid that is a mirror of the lid on the opposite side of my container. I would like to make a drawing for both lids but when I place a view of the mirrored one, it shows all the surfaces from the mirrored part.  They are hidden in the model.  Is there an easy way to hide them in the drawing?This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Hello,   When creating a drawing of a sheet metal part, we currently use the family table method to have two models in one sheet. We would prefer not to use this method as it introduces an extra part number that we must track. We have tried using simplified reps however, this means all parent assemblies must have a simplified rep as well!   Does anyone have an alternative to using family tables that will allow us to put a flat pattern view into a drawing without using simplified reps? My compnay is moving to Windchill and wants to search and clean up our current files for duplicate before bulkloading. Is there a specific program out there that would work best to do this? For example our engineering team would like to know where any file named asm001.asm would be located in a folder and all subfolders. At this point the only functionality needed would be to find files on a network drive. Any deleting or renaming would be done through Creo or Windows Explorer.

I've noticed that when I examine the relations in my start part I made few months ago, there is inserted into the text a red arrow with a cryptic error:->Invalid data type combination at left side of expressionI couldn't really understand it and so I tried to restart from scratch.  But now when I write this sample relation into an empty part:if string_ends(MY_FILENAME_STRING,"prt")   MY_FILENAME_TYPE = "PART"endifand try to save, the system says "Relations have errors"and there is a less cryptic error flagged with a red arrow inserted into the text like this:if string_ends(MY_FILENAME_STRING,"prt")-> Invalid symbol 'string_ends' found   MY_FILENAME_TYPE = "PART"endifMy first guess is that the function has been removed from Creo 2.0 (M160)?  This is because it doesn't show up in the available functions list.  But this post shows that function used to be in this list in 2014...Is string_length() still a valid relation function?But I'm also thinkin

Hi AllI have a User Creation form and was wondering if I could create some kind of feedback (for example a message box) that would notify the user that a process has been completed?For example:When the user clicks on the "Create User" button a message box appears stating "User Created" or something similar?So far I have utilised the "Confirm Action" facility when clicking a button but it would be great to have something that pops up to give the user feedback that an action has been completed successfully (or not).Any help would be greatly appreciated.Many thanksAshley

Hi everyone,   I'm facing an issue regarding an expectation from designers of my team.   They would like to set a range for flexible dimension.   For instance, I insert a spring in my assembly. I've recently taken a position with a Blowmolding production plant as a tooling designer.  I'm coming from a SolidWorks environment to Creo 3.0.  I'm being tasked with finding the best method of using customer provided Creo files (solids) to generate preliminary blow mold surfaces for use in a seperate simulation package.  I think I've found a way of converting the solid files to surfaces, eliminating all of the surfaces I don't need and saving as a .stp file, but I'd like to know if Creo has a function or tool I could use to "split" the remaining geometry along a mold line.  Does anyone have any tips or experience with this, or even another community post that could shed some light?I appreciate any advice offered and thank you in advance.Mitch YurkovichThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team.
