I have just installed Creo Elements Direct Modeling Express 6.0 and have gone through the tutorials to understand how to model in this environment.The difficulty I am having is, I would like to assemble two parts, having the constraint remain constant, e.g. a pinned hinge that can rotate about the pins axis.Watching the movement of the lid on the printer in the QuickStart tutorial called 'Repurpose a model to create a new product', it seems this is possible. However, I've been looking and can't locate proper contraints in the program. Additionally, when I watch the lid motion from the side, it appears the motion is not pure rotation, but an interpolated combination of translation and rotation from one position to another. It is basically faking a constraint using the configuration animation capabilities.So, the question is, are there proper constraints somewhere in this free 'Express; version? If not, are they available in the paid version? Also, if not, shouldn't there be a clear ment

I am working on a lathe post for the first time in a while. Our lathe offset command needs to be 6 digits, tool nose radius, tool number, offset number like T010101. Is there a FIL command to make the 4 digit number repeat 2 more digits like the previous 2?

I just created an exploded view of a car with 4 wheels and when I clicked on the exploded view icon everything shifted to the left. I was hoping the wheels and rims would explode outwards away from the car.How do I change the settings for exploded views?

Hello,   I'm trying to make a mold using Creo Parametric 3.0. I've watched the tutorial on the PTC website and it seems simple enough but I'm getting stuck on one step. After I import my reference model I click on Workpiece and then Automatic Workpiece. This is where the problem arises. There is line that says "Units" and for me that line and the drop down menu are blank and I can't pick my units. I have performed a least squares fit on a data set and fitted a 21st order polynomial to the data. However, within the forum I could not find a good example of how to extract the polynomial coefficients. Since this is a 21st order polynomial automating the process would be the preferred way to go. From what I can garner through other discussions on the subject there may not be a trivial way to do this - am I correct? Anyway has someone accomplished this feat and is willing to alter my worksheet to show me how to do it. If not I may have to buy Curve Fit Expert but Mathcad methods are of more interest to me. I have been working on my PRF files to get IsoDraw environment the way I want. I have noticed that in the PRF file there isn't a portion of the file for setting drawing sizes. I have a topic where I would like the image landscaped. We have modified the style sheet to give us this capability by setting outputclass to landscape. I functions and turns the table with the image in it landscape. The issue is that it does not keep it on the same page as the title. Is there an easy way to make this work? See attached files. I can rotate the image in IsoDraw and have the table at the bottom of the image. I think it would look better rotated.ThanksBryon

My team recently moved from Arbortext 5.4 to 6.1 M040. With the previous, version we could double-click an image and the image opened in our image editor. Now, double-clicking throws this error:[A60329] Unable to open document: file:///C:/dita/source/web/task/..\image\image1.pngFor context, our file structure keeps the DITA topic types and images in separate folders: web concept image reference task topicIt's as if Arbortext is trying to resolve the image but is appending an absolute path to the topic folder (i.e., task). We must use relative paths in our content so our build servers can create the documentation.Any suggestions or help are welcome!

This week, the next one created was CR-00061.What do I need to change in the OIR to get the system to give me a steady sequential numbering scheme? If Windchill cannot do it automatically, we may have to fall back to a manually entered numbering scheme from an external database which we are trying to replace with

I like to use abbreviations. Usually, after entering a command, the text in the user input line goes away, but since I switched to modeling express 6.0, sometimes, it goes away, sometimes it stays in the uil. If I type a couple of abbreviations in a row, the new abbreviation text is appended to the text already in the input line. Is there some setting I can use to turn this off? I measure the points of a real curve, and I put it in an Excel file. Now, there are several points and I do not want to put it in the table one by one. I know that I can import tables, but I don't know how to make a .pts file that allows me in other ways, copy and paste the points, to import them to Creo. I am trying to branch an existing document to a new document. My ViewSet is set to document author. To do so, I start with a query and select a document of the same type. In this case, it is a requirement specifications. I highlight the desired document, go to the top menu and select "document", select the "branch" option in the drop down, and select a destination project. I have tried the "as of" "now", and other options. I have not selected the "also branch" options. I get the following "PTC error" - "MKS124311: No valid initial states for type "requirement specification". Can someone please shed some light on this error and how to resolve it?Thank you,Phyllis

I can change plot type from line to points, but then I need to make my step size very small and the plot does not look as pretty.
