We are trying to create a surface that fills in a sketch and uses 2 curves to create a domed top. Can anyone tell me how to do it?Here is a quick sketch of what we are trying to create. The 2 cross sketchs are raised.I have attached a model of this skeleton. Some functions are only recognized by the symbolic processor. I am looking for a way to encapsulate some of these functions so they are available to the numeric processor via a normal function call. An example with one such function - Si(x) - is shown in the attachments, with various schemes I have tried. The element-by-element approach in item 2 works for assigning values to an array of arguments, but is a bit more awkward than I prefer. My attempts at defining a function in items 4-6 haven't worked.Is there a way to define a function that is recognized by the numeric processor that does effectively what is in item 4, but works? If it can be done for a scalar, then I would assume that vectorizing this function would allow evaluation with array arguments, since the symbolic encapsulation is isolated in the scalar function definition.If responding with a file, please save in mcd11 format.Thanks,Lou

Everybody,I have a situation where i need a point at the intersection of a cycinder surface, with two datum planes witch are normal to each other.This wil create two possible intersection points on the cylinder surface.When I variate the cylinder diameter parameter, the intersection points sometimes switch from the left to the right & vica verca.I noticed this because I had placed two datum points on the intersections (pnt1 & pnt2), and they switched position.So my question: Is there a way to overconstrain this point ,or define a pos x-dim for this point, or define a quadrant for the location of this point, so it always uses the intersection at the right side for example.RonaldThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I know I can create an Attribute at the Org level called 'Bread", then create a new document type called Sandwich.I can then select to add the attribute 'Bread' and add the Legal List of "White|Brown|". I am make it required and add a default.What I want to know is how to make all "bread' attributes have the same list? It looks like I have to copy and paste the list in each time I make a new document that has the 'Bread' attribute?The example would be a document specification that has a list of “Buy|Make|Both”. I need to make sure that anytime anyone is searching for any of the several specification doc types (Matl Spec, Artwork Spec, Label Spec etc) that they get the same results.

Hello everybody,I'm trying to convert matrix to (x,y,z) data set. The matrix is obtained from an image and i want to extract only certain features of that image (see mathcad file). I've menaged to do that by setting a treshold and by using binarize and scale functions. As a result matrix/image S is obtained (see mathcad file). I want to extract only those matrix elements that have value 255 and to present it as a (x,y,z) data set where x and y should correspond to index i,j of matrix S.Indices i and j are important because they are correlated to dimensions of the flourescent screen (initial image is a snapshot of a screen) and additional mathematical operations on (i,j) i.e. (x,y) should be performed. I'm attempting to create an internal e-book for our company which can be used to perform a complex computation we are working on. However, after creating separate xmcd files such as: splash screen, TOC, and some content pages, I cannot figure out how to print the entire book. I would like to be able to have the user print the book as a reference, but still be able to create their own version usign the e-book copy and paste function to their own document. Does anyone have any idea how this can be done?

How to save mathcad 15 file to .xps format ?

Hi, I'm trying to copy a surfacing toolpath using the "copy" and "paste special" function but I'm ending up having to redefine every reference to EVERY entity on my model. Does anyone know how I can copy the tool path with maybe only having to redefine the walls, floor and corner radii references? This would be a big help.Thanks

Hi all, I'm trying the new version of Creo Direct 2.0 student edition and I have a big problem with copying and pasting. When I want to paste my piece, I cannot move it on the left or the right with an angle of 0. I can only move my «Pasting» into 45 degrees ! Help me please. How can I move objects in an horizontal way ?Thank you a lot for you help, I really need it now !

I have a note that calls for ## holes in the part.The print dimensions the spacing between the first two holes and says (## - 1) spaces.I looked through the tips for text thread ( http://communities.ptc.com/message/185313#185313 ) but couldn't find anything.Is there a way to perform this math within the note?i.e. 14 holes there for 13 spaces (where the 13 is the pattern p## less one).Thanks, Dale

I recieved a drawing from a vendor with their template on it. I need to get our template on the drawing with our legal statements and logo. I'm working on partial differentiation and I need to differentiate partially and ordinarily to then carry out a chain rule and check my manual workings as I go along. But for some strange reason Mathcad keeps returning a null (0) for a 1st-order derivative and not differentiating partially for d/dy displaying a warning (i.e. f(x,y) displays in red).Any ideas?

As my system is very slow the method server takes 900 secs to start?there is no possiblities that our organization will increase the processor speed and ram size for me. as method server takes more time to starti get 2 - 3 instances of method server. i searched in community thatif timeout is increased we wont get 2 - 3 instances of method server.where to change the properties. "wt.manager.serverStartTimeout=180"is the one i should change?can i directly change in wt.properties.or should i run xconf manager?if yes how to run the xconf manager ?is there any tutorial for the same ?

Hello,I am new to Mathcad and am trying to solve a set of linear equations. (Context: given environment and pipe pressure conditions, need to find minimum wall thickness)I have tried many arrangements and tutorials, but am still not able to reach a solution. It's gotten to the point where I am literally out of ideas (I also tried to use range variables and matricies)I doubt it is the equations, since I am referencing them directly from an industry standard.File and reference material attached.Any help would be very (GREATLY) appreciated,Amy
