Is there a best way to import STL or OBJ files (mainly used for 3D printing) in CREO Parametric?I was not able to get parts with a smooth finish by using the OPEN function, those little triangles do not translate well to a nice finished surface, they look really ugly and blocky after I export/save them using the Shrinkwrap option. Even on level 10 for Shrinkwrap they still look awful in the end! Wish they had level 100 in there...Is there a better way to obtain a CREO part starting with an STL or OBJ file?Thank you!(I really hope I chose the correct location for this message)

I am using CFFT for calculations in Mathcad 14. Mathcad Prime 10 recommends using dtf rather than CFFT. However, CFFT and dft have different scaling. Hello! We use a large number of fields within our requirement trackers. Since we are always adding more and more fields, I was wondering if there is a way to divide the existing fields in a certain way? For example by groups. So that the end users will have a better way to look at the fields. And so the order and meaning of the fields will be clearer and understandable then the current interface. From the Codebeamer "Issue View", the tracker has already several sections such as tracking sections, description sections and details sections. Each section has a line separator, if we could have something like this in the editable fields section that would be great for me! Does anyone know if it is possible to do something like this? or similar?  Any advise would be appreciated! 

Hello, Looking for some help modeling an open pulley system using mechanisms.  We have a door that is opened and closed via an linear actuator and a pully system.  We want to model the pulley system accurately as it goes around the pullies to better understand chain length and actuator location.   Big question is can you do this type of constraining in creo?  No sure how to have the chain route around the pullies as the contact location will change as the door opens and closes. Any help would be great! Using creo 8.0

Support team. Can we show PDF file in View app ? I have tried include PDF file in experience by file widget.But when I was touch button as binding to file widget in the iPad , app control switch to browser like a Safari and show PDF in browser.Then we back to View app , tracking as lost. So, we hope completely include PDF to experience.For example include PDF on the popup widget like a image widget.Regards,   

Hello Mathcadeers,I am familiar and comfortable with legacy Mathcad (Mathcad <=15). But since it is no longer supported, I feel that I need to migrate to Mathcad Prime 10 (learning it). I am wondering if you guys can let me know what you think. Is it worth it to migrate to MP10 (need to spend some time to learn and get familiar with it), or just stick with Mathcad15? I am using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.6.0I upgrade CREO 10.0 from 3.0But there has one bad thing. Not so critical thing. But it happened at 2D drawingat CREO 3.0 Xmark that from point by 3D mode. it was slim and look good..but in CREO 10.0 it is thick and it blocks my sight.

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.0 and Datecode with CPS M030-CPS09We are finding in Windchill production that we are filling the vault directory up and it seems like the size seems big. We are seeing where the vault fills in two weeks and last time it filled the PTC person said it was documents. I was also wondering if re publishing the thumbnails would cause this vault to fill up. I would like to know how to minimize the grow and was wondering if republishing tumbnails would cause this. Let me know.

Hello everyone!In my company we have recently introduced Windchill and Creo 8 for our little mechanical office. We make machines based on Robotunits Modular Automation System, that means we use aluminum extruded profiles.Whats the best manner to manage this profiles? The minimum lenghth is 50mm and the max is 6m.We can use all measure between this min and max.I thought we can manage this with a family table where I let change only the length of the profile. But this means a table with 6000rows (one each mm).I don't thik it's the best practice.So I see on PTC support articles that it is raccomended (with the utilize of Windchill) a max numer of istances of 50.It's not so simple manage 6000 different length of profiles with 6000/50=120 family table..What can I do?

When creating a pattern in CREO 8, if the 2nd direction members were set to 1, the radial distance box would be greyed out and would not give any extra dimensions. In CREO 10, this box is always active and always gives you an extra dimension. Is there a way to prevent this new extra dimension?

Windows 11 will be released as early as next month.  Has anyone done some testing of the existing versions of Mathcad (i.e. MC15, Prime 3-7) to identify issues under Win 11.  Personally, I have a perpetual academic license for MC Prime 3.1, and as a retiree, I am loathe buy a subscription version.     Furthermore, I have had to reinstall MC Prime 3.1 several times and it has never been an easy task.  Unless I am reasonably certain that an upgrade to Win 11 will not be an issue for Mathcad Prime 3.1, I will simply stay with Win10.   thoughts?Mike

Hi, I want to discuss something, lets say I have a sensor that sends me readings and also the time stamp of this readings, this timestamp is not the same as the timestamp of the machine that runs thingworx and the database, so i want thingworx to use this timestamp that came with the sensor data to store it in the database as the timestamp of the readings, so that when i try to query these readings and say i want it from timestamp 1 to timestamp 2 they will be stored in the database with timestamp 1 & 2 that has been set using a timestamp originally from the sensor data not the machine or server timestamp, when looked into it i found that i have to use this function in my subscribers and cancel the need to the log checkbox in the properties UI .  // Log multiple properties in a single ValueStream entry Things["ValueStreamThingName"].AddStreamEntry({ source: me.name, tags: undefined, timestamp: timestamp, values: { Temperature: me.Temperature, Humidity: me.

Would like to know if anyone is aware of a effective compression (images/pdf) and archival mechanism that PTC clients can use to make sure vault size increases at a slower pace.
