Hello community.   I am facing some issues due to service timeout of my service that copies and builds a user usable mashup for connecting kepware tags to things.   The service reads each root tag from an industrial connection and then calls a recursive function to go deeper in the tree.   The issue we have for one of our sites though is that they have an older PLC where they apparently can't decide on which tags should be imported, so they have to import all of them (100k+).   Now, we could increase the timeout from 500 seconds, but I don't see it as a viable solution as what if we get 200k+ tags at some point?   The thing is, they have used some disable setting in Kepware for these tags. So they had thought that they would not end up in Thingworx.   Is there anyway to prevent this? I am in the process of upgrading from 12.0 to 12.1. I've done everything to install the target windchill system, including deploying customizations, running the custom column length command, and running the addcolumns tool. Our source database runs under schema user "WFUSER" and our target database was installed (on a separate host) under "WVUSER." I tried following the steps for importing to a different target schema username, but we keep running into issues with data being skipped. Can anyone help outline what the proper steps are here? Do I need to drop the "WVUSER" schema on the target (even though that's where our target application is installed to) and recreate using the <WT_HOME>/db/sql/create_user.sql? Should I be importing the source to the target under username "WFUSER" and do I need to use the create_user.sql script prior to doing that? The upgrade guides are extremely confusing to me on this subject. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Is it possible to add horizontal and vertical grid lines that are, very often, seen in graphs?   PTC Mathcad's plot has no lines - as default.    I don't see anything in the Plots ribbon that makes these lines appear.  The original Mathcad had the ability to add horizontal and vertical lines onto the graph.  I did find markers that could be added in PTC Mathcad - but, I could only delete one of these makers.  After deleting the first marker the "delete marker" button became gray and therefore stopped functioning.  Now, I'm stuck with three markers on this plot.   I'd like to be able to delete all of these markers at will - if at all possible. see screen capture. EDIT:  This is how I'm adding a plot to MathCAD PTC:  Plot > Insert Plot > XY Plot(see second screen capture)  

Hi All, I'm using PTC Creo 8.0 with simulate basic extension. I'm running into a very simple problem but can't find the right solution yet.To visualize the issue I made a simple strip with holes on both ends.In one hole I created a bearing load in the length direction of the strip.In the other hole a pin contraint.I my world this should give the same stress results in both holes. After all: "For every action in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction". But as shown in the screenshot below it isn't the same at all..I've already been testing with different solutions, but none of them resulted in equal results.Most close so far was to divide the hole in different regions and connect the upper region with a point in the center with a rigid link. However this means a lot of trial and error with the size of the region which is not very practical and very time consuming Somebody here knows what the right solution is? Thanks in advance!

I'm developing an application using ThingWorx 9.4.0.  I used the "Package" feature of my Project entity to create a .zip file.  When trying to import into my package as an Extension into our Test/QA platform, I'm getting the following error (redacted bits in <>).Application Log:  Extension Exception: Error parsing /files/ThingworxStorage/extensions/temp/<ProjectName>-1.1.0_<GUID>/<ProjectName>-1.1.0/Entities/ThingShapes/Entities.xml: (88, 37): cvc-complex-type.3.2.2: Attribute 'aspect.isDistributed' is not allowed to appear in element 'Subscription'.   Our Test platform is a HA cluster implementation, so it doesn't make any sense why the project is failing with the error "isDistributed is not allowed".  I verified that it wasn't a problem with this single project by creating a separate test project with a simple subscription and trying to import it to my Test system.  I got the same error.Is this a bug in the platform

I created a Template for the creation of a new change notice in Windchill 12.1.  I have tested it and it shows up as a selection in the Template drop down.  When I tried to train a user on how to create a Change Notice, the template is not available for him.  It sounds like a rights issue, but I just can't seem to find the location of where it is.  Any ideas? Thanks

Was on Creo 3, just upgraded to Creo 10. I'm not happy with the new GTOL features. It seems significantly more limited than it was in Creo 3. From videos online, it seems the upgrade happened in Creo 4. Main gripes:1. What happened to the ability to select placement (i.e. free note, leader, tangent leader, in dim, in GTOL, etc)? You can select a reference but the ability to select how you want it displayed is greatly limited.2. I'm attempting to add a feature control frame to a hole note. It's not possible and gives a very wonky result. There's no way to correct this within the GTOL.I found this suggestion which I can't get working, and it's a poor workaround for what was functionally possible in Creo 3 anyway.Solved: how to place a GTOL on a hole note - PTC Community3. I'm having trouble calculating the time (hours) and days between two dates Windchill provides (created and last modified) on a document. Google searching for Java examples results in tons of ideas but I haven't been able to get any to work. I think my problem is in how the stamps are stored or the format of the stored stamps. I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.5.0We have made bends tables for spec driven piping in .csv format that match the examples shown. The only difference is we have a range for min and max radius where as your examples show the same size for radius, min, and max. The issue is that we can't change the bend radius for piping. when you go under modify>corner segment and select the corner you want to change the bend radius pick list is greyed out even though we have a range of radii to choose from.

I trying to write some Workflow Activity instructions that include attributes (workflow variables) derived from enumerated lists chosen when creating the object. For example, we have a list of Technical Approves. Each approver has a unique internal name that is different from their display name. The instructions need to say "talk with J. Baker about this" but they are coming out as "talk with TA_JBaker about this". The problem is even worse when the user's name has changed (i.e. through marriage their display name should now be J. Reynolds). How can I tell the instructions to use the display name and not the internal name?We are using Release 12.0.2.12 with PLMlink 12.0.2.7.
