3D Part & Assembly Design

I have next to no surfacing experience.  I have a solid part that has a concave curved indent, made up of individual "surfaces" I guess you would call them.  Protruding from that set of surfaces is a recycle symbol that I need to edit, or, remove & replace.  My initial intent was to remove it, then extrude a different one, both using the "up to" reference and the quilt being that ref.  I selected the surrounding surfaces, then Copy & Pasted.  That gave me the quilt fine, but I think there are "holes" in it where the recycle symbol is.  I can't extrude to it from the front or back, it just fails.  Help me out...?  Something to fill the holes, or a different approach entirely?  I am at my wits end.

I'm not sure PTC understands the concept of a model. It’s supposed to represent reality in a simplified form — yet PTC simply ignores threads and doesn’t display them at all. A thread should be immediately noticeable, but in Creo I still have to search for them. It’s absurd. Please tell me there’s a solution that doesn’t involve wireframe graphics from the last millennium.

I am using Creo Parametric Release 5.0 and Datecode5.0.5.0I created a PRT family table, where my variants are two features, which I named "A," "B," "C" (Feature 1) via "post-regeneration" relationships, and "D," "E," "F" (Feature 2).In some instances, feature 2 is suppressed, even though the "family table" displays "*" in the values ​​for feature 2, so "D," "E," "F." The table displayed in 2D inserts the generic values. (The 3D of the instance is correct, so feature 2 is suppressed.)How can I fix this?

I am using Creo 12.4.2.0.  I have an engine model that was created in Autocad.  The base units are in inches.  When I import the .dwg, the units are correct.  As soon as I save the file with a new name (File --> Save As Copy), it always re-scales the model to mm.  It's not converting the units. it's multiplying all the inch dimensions by 25.4, and then saving the file as inches.  I have tried rescaling (Model --> Operations --> Rescale), but no matter what I try, the dimensions don't change or convert.  I have also tried to change the units from IPS to MKS, but I don't have the option to convert or interpret.  These options are grayed out. I misspoke in my initial post.  It's a .dwg file, not .dxf.  The forum will not allow me up upload this type of file.

With these Box, Lasso, and Trace selections that are new in Creo 11. Is it possible to turn these off? So it works similar to Creo 10 and below? I'm still dealing with selection issues in Creo 11. PTC is of no help, as they say the don't see this issue.  But myself and every other engineer here all see this. When selecting surfaces or edges..it takes 3 times longer to select now in Creo 11. Id like to narrow down its not something to do with this lasso, Box and Trace stuff added in Creo 11. (when we first started having problems) Can I turn these off? Thanks,Jay

Hi everyone,I recently submitted an idea to add a Convex Hull creation feature.   In geometry, a Convex Hull is the smallest convex shape that fully contains a given set of points or geometry. It can be imagined like a rubber band stretched around the outermost points. If you have ideas for how Convex Hull could be useful in your workflows, please comment on the idea and share your use cases. This will really help show the need for implementing it. Hi, in an assembly "A" I have a lot of this parts "B" (lets say 100). When I modify another subassembly "C" (or parts "D") of the assembly "A", It takes a lot of time to regenerate the 3D model "A", and in the left bottom of the screen it plot these messages"Relations have errors/warnings. Refer to the message log for the details or visit relation UI.A - assembly A - regeneration completed with 94 suppressed feature(s) or component(s).Part 'B' not changed since last regen".I think it is a tentative to regenerate parts that are not in checkout and takes a lot of time to do this tentative.How can I fix this problem? Thank you in advanced. Michele Barile

Hello everyone,CREO Parametric 11.0.2.0 here. I am attempting to superimpose my companies automation system onto a provided floorplan. I have converted the floorplan I got into a .drw. My most recent (fruitless) attempt involved creating a drawing with the model and perspective that I would like, and then copying and pasting that into the floorplan .drw. This fails every time because it identifies a mismatch in the units. I have attempted to change the units of the model before pasting into the floorplan to no avail, so I am not exactly sure what it is that I am missing. I am also not able to identify the units that the provided floorplan are in using the creo software, and when measured, it returns some nonsense number that indicates to me that it was scaled down before I got it... Ultimately there are several independent sections of our system that I would like to make this compilation out of, so whatever the solution is, it would be nice if it was easily repeatable.Thank you for you

I am trying to modify the crosshatching in a part drawing section.  After selecting the area, the  "edit hatching" menu appears, but is greyed out.  Any suggestions?

In Creo 9.0.10.0, creating circular bends or crimps with varying thickness is often a bit clunky, as it requires cutting material and then re-adding the crimp or bend feature, usually as a revolve or sweep. I’m looking for a simpler, more efficient way to do this, similar to how Sheet Metal bends work, where bends can be suppressed in a simplified representation at the part level. This would be especially useful for parts that currently use family tables or flexible modeling. I’ve looked into the X-Section Property Control options in the Spinal Bend feature, but I’m not sure if any of those settings can be used for multi-directional bending. Specifically, can things like moments of inertia or centroid coordinates allow a bend towards the center of an axis or csys. I'm hoping to find another method that can directly apply the deformation like a bend to the existing length of material without cutting out features. I am having issues with opening a CATPART file on CREO. When I open the file, I am getting some import errors and cannot see any of the geometry of the part. If I edit the definition of the data import I can then see the part surfaces but the import will fail to regenerate if I click OK.  I cannot add the data as surfaces (greyed out on Import As tab), only as bodies so it may have something to do with how it is saved in Catia. I have tried correcting issues in IDD but cannot afford to spend as much time correcting issues with every import. Can Import settings be adjusted to allow the data to be imported as a quilt/surfaces? I am using CREO 9.0.8.0

Hellois it possible to create a straight hook with a incorrect radius? if you look at the below image, it would come off at an angle rather straight. is it possible? 

Happy Monday! In an assembly....is it possible to change select tool default from Geometry to Part so it's always default. This has been a pet peave of mine for years. In assembly mode I select parts an overwheming amount of times. I always forget to change from geometry to part. A slight annoyance. There probably is no solution and I would doubt anyone else even cares about this. LOL. 😁 Wayne

I am creating a drawing in Creo Parametric 11.01.4.0. I have a diameter that I have a runout GTOL on that is also a datum. When I place the datum on the diameter witness line it is also automatically attaching it to the GTOL so that the datum is displayed twice. If I remove or move either of the shown datums they both move or are removed. The dimension shown on the drawing was originally a displayed dimension driven by the 3D. I tried recreating the dimension in 2D to see if that fixed it, but it too is having the error occur.   

Hello, I've searched here and there for information before posting. Is there a way to export transparent background png (or whatever format) image files from illustrate? Or even set the background as "no background" instead of a colour? This would avoid the need to go through Photoshop to delete the background.   Any answer's appreciated Thanks in advance

I created a wire spool. I routed a wire using the spool. When I go to edit the spool, save is greyed out. It's new, so its not a permission thing-I think? I go to add and remove columns and I can't save it. What's up?

I am using Creo Parametric Release 12.4 and Datecode12.4.0.0I would like to create a new oriented view with an isometric orientation.Currently, the default Isometric view has the Y‑axis along the upper side.I want to rotate it so that the Z‑axis is along the upper side instead
