Although I do like Creo Elements / Direct Modeling Express and I appreciate that it is free, a problem with this program is that it is not very user friendly, in my opinion, and that can be frustrating.  I sometimes find myself unable to figure out how to do simple things and the help file sometimes doesn't help.  I am in that situation now.   I want to move a workplane in a direction normal to itself until it snaps onto a certain face which is parallel to the workplane.  That seems like it should be a simple thing to do but I can't see how to do it.  I thought I could use the 3D Copilot (in the dynamic position mode) and that when the pointer got over the face the face would get highlighted and I could select it and then the worplane would snap to it.  But it doesn't get highlighted and I can't select it.  Of course there are other ways to accomplish this, such as just creating a new workplane on the face.  But I have been running into this part

Hello,I have a problem with resolution of href attribute on a topicref element in Arbortext editor (v6.1 M070). The problem is not present with v6.1 M000.When I have this url "../../../Temp/StructureTopics/pr%C3%A9face.dita" on my topicref it's possible to open the topic from my dita book map.But when I resolve the map (for modify style), AE is not able to retrieve dita file. I have this message " Pseudo rubrique : DITA Topic \"file:/_ATI_Not_Found_/../../../Temp/StructureTopics/pr%C3%A9face.dita\" introuvable"In the href attribute, if I replace "%C3%A9" by a "é" (../../../Temp/StructureTopics/préface.dita) I don't have the problem.Does it exist a parameter in AE to manage specific characters in url ?Thanks.

I have added some extra sub types and Standard attributes in windchill 10.0 from admin user in site context.  When i try to create any kind of part now, it is giving the above mentioned error.

Hello Creo Users,   I have a very simple (?) mechanism problem that I can't solve. Two quilts created by extruded spline curves should slide at each other. It is a planar situation because the piston only moves in the xy plane. The left end of the piston always moves only horizontally. If I create cylindrical quilts to use it works with the constraint "Tangent" but it doesn't with non-cylindrical surfaces. I am getting forward to get some advices how to assemble the piston and how to add Mechanism constraints to make the Mechanism analysis run without failure message. HelloI just updated my windows to windows 10. Network Server Licensed Version of Creo for our school - Where to download?

Does anyone know how to create a link within a PDMLink document folder to a network folder outside of PDMLink? I know how to create links to other websites, but would like to create one to related shared network folders.  When I try to it always inserts the prefix http.. in front of the network location, so it doesn't work.  In addition, users have permission to create or delete link objects, but users cannot edit them!Any ideas?

Hello,I want to conduct a drop test using simulate. I can calculate the energy on the component when it hits the floor using the formula mgh (mass x gravity x height). However, it's difficult to convert this to impact force. The impact force is given by energy divided by deflection. I need to get the deflection in order to apply force, but I need to apply force to get deflection.. I have crated a Thing template (UPerson) that is used to create 5 objects. I've set the home mashup of the template to import the UPerson data dynamically and call getPropertyValues, however the method needs a link to entityName. Where do I get this from? The idea is to be able to open the home mashup of the Things implementing the Thing template and have the same layout, but different data.

I've noticed that if I try to access the web interface via localhost:<port> it doesn't work, giving the following error: Error connecting to <hostname>:<port>: String index out of range: -1This is despite providing the correct credentials, as evidenced by successful login via the desktop client, as well as when accessing the web interface using 127.0.0.1:<port>.I have modified the IntegrityClientSite.rc on the server as well as client, which are configured for ICAllowSpecificConnectionPolicy, with 127.0.0.1 in the validConnectionList. Additionally, in the server's IntegrityClientSite.rc, ICLocalConnectionPolicy is set. This isn't a huge deal, but is somewhat of an annoyance that I'd like to resolve if possible. It doesn't seem to change anything when i comment the validConnectionList. Also, the hosts file does include a mapping for 127.0.0.1 to localhost. Any ideas?

Hello,   I tried to perform an analysis of a problem from the PTC Help Center.   I get the same exact numbers of elements and equations. However, the result is QUITE DIFFERENT.   I checked all variables (units, measures...) and I cannot see my mistake. How can I gat a Real and positive root - see the picture and attach (Mathcad 15 and, pardon, Mathcad Prime 2.0)

After getting the Integrity Server and Client communicating after some licensing issues, I've noticed that no Types are available, either through the regular client/web interface or in the administration client. I can confirm this because in the Types table in the database, there are no Types either. It seems like based on the Server Administration guide that Integrity should come with some Types. I was attempting to create a Document but it wants me to specify a Type. Was I wrong about built-in Types?

I'm trying to plot a function from Hibbeler Mechanics of Materials in Mathcad Prime 3.0 but I'm not getting any results.I put in a figure for P (15N) and for A (100mm^2). So the bar on top of the page isn't rectangular but square (10x10mm)Theta = 30deg is not producing any result.Somewhat below on the right I tried to list all theta angles from 90deg to 0deg: no result.Obviously I do something wrong here. Hello,I have to create a large matcad-document under prime 3 und want to devide it into numbered chapters. Is there something like a MS-Word chaptering, so that an insert between existing chapters would renumber the old chapters.Or what is the preferred method to get numbered headlines?

Hello, I'm completely new with Integrity, although I've done quite a bit of reading through the client and server administration guides. I'm including details of the install that may not be relevant just in case they are.The main issue here is that FlexNet appears to not install correctly/successfully. The GUI launches to perform the install and I specify the path. All that ends up being created there is essentially an uninstall folder and some log files. There's no sign of lmadmin.exe and when I check the box near the end of the FlexNet install to run the service now, the browser opens with the port I specified, but it is the typical "unreachable" page.In attempting to setup Integrity Server to interact with an Integrity Client on the same machine, different drives, I've hit a snag installing FlexNet. Greetings,I just downloaded Thingworx ML 51.0.1 Developer Edition and am trying to import the parking kiosk data set.I'm using PostMan and have been able to define the dataset and the corresponding meta information in Neuron successfully.However, when i try to upload the actual data, i'm getting the following error:Unexpected character ('-' (code 45)) in numeric value: expected digit (0-9) to follow minus sign, for valid numeric valueat [Source: org.glassfish.jersey.message.internal.ReaderInterceptorExecutor$UnCloseableInputStream@20679501; line: 1, column: 3]Is this a known issue?Seems like a parser error with the data file.Is there a work around?
