Hi everyone,We are using Windchill 10.0 M030Whenever our designers revise a part, WTpart, or .dwg (ex A to B), Windchill automatically kicks the file's Lifecycle State back to "In Work" on the default template. We created our own custom template with the appropriate States, but this glitch is also even happening on test parts using the default template. Every time a part or dwg gets a revision, we have to reset the state for each file.We haven't gotten the managerial PLM features integrated into company procedures yet, so for now this is just an annoyance for designers using Windchill. However, as we move forward, this could cause some serious problems and confusion.Is there a preference somewhere to configure Windchill so that when revising, it maintains the same Lifecycle state and template? I cannot seem to find one.Thanks-Jon

Assuming I have a simple function such that f(x,y)=x^2+x*y+y is it possible with Mathcad Prime 3 to find the symbolic partial derivative of the function f'x(x,y)? For some reason I cannot find how to do this. f' seems to only give a normal first derivative. Is there some tricky keystroke to enable partial derivative notation in MC Prime 3? I find it hard to believe that PTC would have overlooked that functionality?Kind regards, Mark

Hi,We are beginning our investigation into upgrading from Windchill 10.2 M030 to Windchill 11 on the same hardware.  I've been reading the installation and upgrade guides (5 or 6 of them) and I'm still a little confused.  The upgrade steps reference the installation guide for setting up the "target" system.  The target system in our case are the same servers as the source system.  The confusing part (to me at least) is this, do I need a new Oracle user for the installation? The upgrade guide talks about exporting the data from the source database and importing into the target database before running the Upgrade Manager tool. Do I need to do this or just point Windchill 11 to the original database user and run Upgrade Manager?

We have pre-made common notes that we place insert into our drawings using the NOTES > FILE.  The note files are stored on a common folder on our Windchill server.  Some of the notes need to be modifed/updated or new standard notes be added.  I can checkout note files through an external browser, but when I save the actual notes, it doesn't save in my workspace, it saves it to the text folder within the install directory.  So even though the note file is checked out, Windchill doesn't see it as modified, so it doesn't allow me to check-in anything.  There's also no "replace content" option when right clicking the note file in the Windchill browser.  I'm stumped.Can anyone explain how to modify existing notes, or even how to add new notes into the Windchill server?This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Hi everyone                         If i want to write a relation in a customized way in creo 3.0 then is it possible, suppose i have a parameter named Model_name = 1238zx-0128p0000 now i want to create another parameter (say DRG_NAME ) by using this model_name parameter but my new parameter should be DRG_NAME=1238ZX-0128P , i want to remove the last four digit of my Model_name parameter and want to store it in a new parameter as DRG_NAME.

I'm defining a drilling cycle with pecking to install a start hole for some pocket milling. Something I've done countless times in the past.To avoid leaving drill marks on the bottom of the pocket, my method is as follows:(1) Use "By tip" for the "Measure:" specification.(2) Check the "Use Breakout Distance" box.(3) In the parameters, specify a negative breakout distance, usually something like "-0.010" (inches).(4) For the "End" of the hole, select the bottom surface of the pocket.In the past, this has resulted in a nice drilled hole that does not touch the bottom of the pocket, and may subsequently be used to plunge in the rougher that will cut the pocket. No plunge milling, which I abhor.The trouble is, the drilling cycle seems to be completely ignoring the "By tip" specification and drills too deep. Hello,I'm trying to run an IE task trough a java method. All,   Has anyone found a way to HIDE tagged datum planes? According to PTC CS152797, it is working to software specifications. The Tech Support person said this was introduced for MBD files using combination states. I bet only around 10% if that of their customer base is completely on MBD.   For those that are still using legacy files, non-MBD, it has completely messed up the layer functionality and causing extra non-layer related steps that CANNOT be automated.   For those that have not seen the issue. Add a datum plane, change the properties, rename it, select Set Datum Tag in the Display section, select On Datum in the Placement section, and select the newly created datum plane. Hide the layer that the new datum plane resides. Hi,I'm trying to parse an ISO String date with a time zone in a JS service (2016-03-23T17:38:01.045+0100) and it looks like the JS engine is not able to handle it. We just switched to Creo 2 and I am struggling with play path. I used to be able to do play path, pick the file name and a it would open a dialog box that I could control the speed. It will still open the box if I go through the Process Manager. It will still run my CL file but I cannot control the speed so it goes real slow.What am I missing?Thanks Bernie

For example, if I want to write a LISP command which has me select a 3D model (part or assembly) and then display the BOM Position Number from the drawing. There is obviously a way to do this because the BOM table commands in Annotation can grab the information. I have a Layout with a Header and  a Row. I the Row i have a left side bar and a column.I dropped a repeater in the left side bar. If i make it selectable and then either auto-select the first row or manually select a repeater item, horizontal scroll bars show up in the left side bar.Is there a way to prevent this?

Hello,this is what happens:In the Integrity Client's preferences under Configuration Management under Connection->Prompt for the checkboxes for User Name & Password  are checked.Yet when we use the CLI (si.exe) ,for let's say check-in, on a few machines the prompt does not happen.Is there maybe a different preferences-set for CLI then for the client somehow, or what could be the issue here?thanks in advance,Luca.

I'm currently working on a client's cable files, and I'm trying to place a marker on the cable to represent a heat shrink location. I just successfully did this on one cable, but the second one is giving me issues.No matter where I put the marker on the cable, the location the marker is shown on the flat cable file and drawing does not reflect the location it was created on the assembly file. For example, I place a marker in the center of the cable, and it shows up next to connector #1 on the flat cable file and drawing. I then put a marker next to connector #2, and in the flat file it shows up next to connector #1. I put a marker a short distance from connector #1, and it shows up in the middle of the cable. Is there something I'm missing with placing markers? I'm generating a simple BOM table (Column headers as; Part No, Description & Quantity). The assembly comprises of components modeled by the local design team and parts from overseas. I need the table to populate the 'Description' cells (driven from a part Parameter),using either of the defined Parameters i.e 'asm_mbr_Description' or 'asm_mbr_Bezeichnung'I believe this can be achieved by defining a Relation to the Table Repeat Region, but I am struggling to write (and apply to the table ) the correct script.
