Is there a way (config option, other setting) to make the CREO 2/3 taskbar icons appear/behave the same as in WF4 WF4 icons tell more about the content of the window making it simpler to e.g. identify which window has the current favorite part .... Hello,   I was just wondering why am I not able of modifying the cache size to another value different than 2 GB? Option appears to be unavailable for edition. Why is that? If I recall correctly, this was not the case before.

Dear all,Sorry the dummy question, but how to open/retrieve a old file in the version history tab?I would like to open into Arbortext the version "A.24", but when I click over the "Actions" button, it doesnot give the option for previous iteractions. Hi Team,When editing an Issue manually, the existing contents in the field (its a longtext with logging disabled) will be visible in Edit mode.But when using CLI command, i'm getting only the option to overwrite existing value.Is there an option to add content to field ?*I tried storing the current value to a temp variable, add my new contant to the temp and use that variable to edit field - but this is not working in batch script when field length is big.Regards,Arun

We have mapped some modelcheck properties to write report on shared location.Due to security reasons IT has shared those UNC path with $ designation. This makes those shared path as hidden, user able to access those path in windows explorer  and have read and write permissions. I am trying to edit an stl file, but the "enter editing facet environment" button is inactive. How do i enter into editing facet environment.

I have a plate with several openings and some angled bosses and radii on it. I created  a mill window and used a mill->finish sequence which handled everything well, except it retracts frequently to skip the openings in the part. I made a copy of the surface and removed all of the openings, and redefined the mill window to the copied surface. The problem is the Mill->Finish still sees the original model and not the added surface. Thoughts? (Original part is an iges in case it matters).Josh

I have a sub-type for WTChangeOrder2 (Change Notice) and for WTChangeActivity2 (Change Activity) workflows. The main (non-sub-) type for each is the Engineering Dept release process. The sub-type for each is Manufacturing's 'production release'. Each of the two workflows uses different roles and responsible people so, naturally, each needs to have different permissions for the various stages (states). Everything is working as I wanted it to in testing so now it's time to do up the Policy for all the various roles in each workflow. My dilemma is about the priority of policy concerning main types and sub-types. Here is what i have.  When I get Policy set for WTChangeOrder2, does that override any policy set for MfgECO?Or does MfgECO override WTChangeOrder2? I assume MfgECO would inherit any policy settings from WTChangeOrder2 if I forget to set it in the sub-type, but correct me if I'm wrong. Any traps I should be aware of?

I am upgrading to Creo Parametric 3.0, and I have received a new license "lm_xxxxxx_standard.txt" for this. I have notes from a similar license upgrade indicating that I needed to modify the license text to complete the deamon path that starts: DEAMON ptc_d __PTCD_PATH.My notes are not clear on how, of if, I actually did this. Can anyone point me to specific instructions?

Hi guys I need some help with changing dimensions in family table instances for an UDF I'm makingIn the following picture you can see that I have created a family table with different instances and 4 dimensions that will vary depending on which instance is chosen.The thing is that for the _FLANGES instances, I need dimensions D41 and tp41 to be to 3 decimal places, such that 10.95 should actually be 10.945 and 13.56 for 13_BOTTOM_FLANGED should be 13.560.I can set the dimension in question to be always to 3 decimal places, however that won't work for me because the dimensions need to be to 2 decimal places for the NOT_FLANGED instance. I also tried just entering the dimensions to correct decimal places in the family table boxes, however that does not seem to affect anything and when used the generated dimensions will be to the decimal places of the original feature.So my question is how would I make this variation in decimal places for different instances possible in UDF? Hi,we are currently looking for a way to get rid of a number of fields in order to clean up the system.These fields are in most cases no longer used or there are newer versions by now. The problem is, it confuses users,e.g. when they are building a Query etc.We could of course rename them and put it to the end by having 'z_' prefix, but that's not really a good solution.So is there any chance to 'deactivate' a field or something similar?Thanks in advance for your help.Best,ChrisPS: I am talking about 800-1000 fields. How do you get a field value in a trigger if that field is computed? If I use getFieldDisplayString then nothing is returned. If I use getFieldValue then I get a null.

I am currently want to transition the license server from Windows 7 64 bit to Server 2012. Where would I find documentation to this? Also, do I have to request a new license from PTC or modify the existing license with a new MAC address?? The installation was done previously by an IT technician who is no longer here.

In our company, IT copies our config files to the text folder of ProE every time someone logs into their computer. However, in Creo 3, we noticed the folder structure is by datecode. This makes it much harder for an automated system to map through a folder structure that is changing every few months and where some users may be on different date codes than others. HiI'm working on a sheet which has a number of solver blocks. For clarity of work and for a concise summary, I want to pull the answers from the 'FIND' function out of the solver block. Currently I have to do this manually as I can't find a way of automatically outputting the values into the main body of the sheet. Does anybody know how to achieve this automatically?Thanks

I just tried to use 'SimMechanic Link' with creo parametric 3.0 StudentEdition. After adding the configuration to creo the following error occurs:   Creo Toolkit application 'Sim Mechanics Link', from registry file '..\creo2matlab.data', predates Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire v4.0 but was not marked as using legacy encoding.   Any help would be appreciated.
