We have a fairly complex workflow where we have included all the previous tasks comments in the Instruction area through an expression on the tasks Complete Transition. What we do is read the global comment variable in and add the current comments to the variable and save it back to the global variable. This works well for tasks that are sequential. The problem is that we have many instances where we sent out multiple task simultaneously and, because the comment variable is read in during the creation of the tasks, the last of the simultaneous tasks completed is the only comment that is added to the variable. ... the last one in wins!I'm looking for a way to update the comments on a task so the global variable will be re-read prior to adding the new comment text to the variable. This should capture and updates to the variable after the task was created.Any help will be greatly appreciated!John

I used parameter names (tools/parameters) to set up the model to be parametric with ANSYS Workbench. I am creating a new model and want to use the same parameter names as another model. I started a new session of CREO 2.0, created a new part, named the dimensions and then when I tried to create the parameter, I got a message that the Parameter name was already in session.How do you clear parameter names? I am not being able to install the PT Creo. After the Licence Agreement when I click next the space where I have to enter the Simple Lecence Entry, it does not let me click or write anything.

Help please. I have a Mac, bootcamp. My laptop should meet the system requirements. I've tried uninstall, reinstall a few times. I made sure the firewall, etc were disabled. I've added the graphic instruction text file. I've pretty much tried everything I can find on the internet and in these forums. Nothing works. It appears my install was successful. The problem is I cannot run creo parametric, even in adminstrator mode. I get a user account control prompt asking if I want to allow the following program from an unkown publisher to make changes to the computer. Program name: parametric.exe, Publisher Unknown and file origin Hard drive on this computer. I click on Yes and the circular swirl appears as though something is going to happen. After a few seconds it just disappears and nothing happens.What do I need to do as I have a school assignment due in a few days!

I have a simple shell model, a square section hollow beam with datum points at the center of each end surface. I have created a rigid link between those datum points and corresponding edges. I want to create moment free constraints at the ends. At one end, I can create a point constraint and set translational AND rotational degrees of feedom as I please. At the other point, I can't set rotational degrees of freedom. Why? Each set of point+rigid link seem identical. Any suggestion?Best regards Mats Lindqvist

We recently updated from Creo 2.0 to 3.0 F000. Now I cannot locate the custom trajectory toolpath. I can fake it using a regular 3-axis trajectory, but custom trajectory did a better job of integrating the sketch into the step. It would be nice to have back. Our company has recently implemented Windchill. We have 2 floating licenses for Creo on our server. One of the interns over the summer was responsible for getting everything set up and working properly. One of the tasks he had to do was get the thumbnails to work and be able to view the models that were created in Creo. He thought that it was setup correctly, but now Windchill ties up one of the floating licenses and only 1 user is able to use Creo at a time which is a major issue. From my understanding, the visualization shouldv'e come with it's own license, separate from one of the creo licenses we have. Also, my manager had been receiving job failed messages about every hour for a few weeks now. I may have found what that issue is but I want to put an example message here incase it is related somehow. Hey guys.. we just updated to Creo 2.0 from Wildfire 5. there are some small things that are different. i know some of you may know or have a tips page i can see. however.. there is something that is bothering me.When modifying parts, click extrude, define surface, however, it never goes into sketch view. it stays in isometric view. i have to click sketch view. is there a setting that i can change to fix this?Also, one more thing. i noticed the window tab has gone. there is no more window pull down, to toggle between files opened. i used to click window, and it would list the drawings or parts opened up, and also have the ability to close the files. now they are just icons on the Quick Access Toolbar. is there anyway to get the window pulldown menu again?Thanks again for all the help i have recieved on this website. i only post after i do as much searching as i can.is there a thread, or discussion with tips and tricks? whats new, and better, or worse from wildfire 5, to Creo 2.0. or ev

Hi guys, first post here.. been using the forum for tons of help. hope i can get help on this one.We are currently doing a change over from intralink to windchill. and some of our revisions are messed up. i want to jump from like A, to C, or D. i have experience in windchill from a previous company, and when changing rev's, i was able to set the revision. like if i found the windchill rev wasnt matching i could just change rev, and go from say.. Hello there PlanetPTC people, I am working in Pro-Piping and I am trying to figure out the most efficient way to measure the overall length of a pipe. I know I can measure each curve piece by piece and add them up, but it would be much nicer if I could just measure each pipe as a whole. Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I'm new here. Maybe this issue has a common, easy answer.Creo will not open any assemblies, or create any new ones. It doesn't explain why, either. You can click on assembly files to open them, or create new ones, name them, and click 'create' or whatever, and then nothing happens.The issue is with Creo Direct 2.0 Has anyone run into this before?Thanks!Jack

Hello,   I downloaded Creo last year when I had access to really hi-speed wifi, as I didn't know when I would actually be taking the Creo class. Now I need to use the software and while it worked last week, now apparently, the license expired on the 28th of August. I don't have access to download the 4 gig file again. (I'm on online student using satelllite speeds). Can I renew my student license without completely uninstalling and redownloading the whole thing?

Hi Guys, after Windchill 9.1 stopped working and restarted, I am having this error message in the "header" part (where contains menu and submenu). This problems occurs to all user (I think it may be in the server cache side).Does anyone have any ideas?thanks in advance.

HiI use the match function to find a value in a vector. However, for some values the match function returns a matrix instead of a scalar, see picture. Why does this happen? What is the match function doing?

I want to show Inox material on my part. (Like Picture A.) But I try it that like picture B. It doesn't like metal material. Even if I use HDR, it doesn't like Inox.
