Hi,Attached is a mathcad worksheet - when you scroll down you will see a set of questions to my problem and a plot of the function that I have produced to try and plot the curve that I want. The curve I wish to plot should look something like the sketch attached (see curve_sketch file) Plot points on the sketch refer to the nomenclature in the mathcad file. Can you please read the questions in matchad file and advise how best to plot the individual functions of the curve?Many thanksOmar

OK, I think I need a solve block, but I can't seem to get the format correct or am doing something else wrong as I know the answer, and can't even get close. I am trying to work out the leeward post embedment calculation from the National Frame Builders Design Manual on page 9-9. The equation is d^2 = [7.02 Va + (7.65 Ma / d)] / S' b where Va = 441 lbf , Ma = 1640 lbf * ft . S' = 532 lbf / ft^3 and b = 0.64 ft so I tried building it in MathCAD 14 using solve and the symbolic arrow to the right, but it gives me some huge number with the third root of a square root . . . . . I read where it will solve using units, but maybe that is the issue here? I know the answer is d^2 = [7.02 441lbf + (7.65 1640 lbf-ft / d)] / 532 lbf/ft3 * 0.64 ft d = 4.22 ft But I can't figure out how to ask MathCAD to solve for d . . . any suggestions? Did I miss it in the help section? Solve block syntax?

I am trying to create a custom workflow in Windchill 9.1. I want to have a decision made that will cause the workflow to travel one path or the other for a few items, merge back together for the next few items, then split for the last item based on the earlier decision. I think I can do it with Execute Expression Robots and variables. Any one out there able to help with the scripting, or perhaps suggest a better way.Currently I use two consecutive workflows, but much of the information requested in the first, is also requested in the second. This means the initiator not only has to initiate two workflows, but also re-enter information that was previously entered in the first workflow. Being able to start one workflow, have the user choose a path and later use that same choice to determine the direction to take on the next fork, would greatly help ease user adoption to the system we've just begun to use.

I've been using Pro/E for years; currently with Creo/WF5. Still couldn't find an easy way to make the same surface that are seperated by a cut, rib, groove, etc. to be different color. Basically, make surface 1 and 2 different color/texture to show how that area might be painted. 2 ways I've done are: both more time consuming than it should be. make a copy of the surface that is slightly offset and remove the unwanted surface. make a decal in Photoshop, or post process the image in Photoshop.   Anyone knows a way to leave out the surrounding surface that the color should not change similar to an option for copying surfaces?

When designing the tail on their owning a tail for the aircraft, would a team still have to use the MathCad files designed for a traditional tail? Or would the team be required to develop their own tail without the aid of MathCad?

Having upgraded my 6 year old 32 Bit windows XP computer to a Windows 7 64 Bit, I immediately found that 3D plots do not work. Even those in the Mathcad tutorial.I had a quick play and came across if you right click on the Mathcad 15 Icon on the desktop, select properties there is a compatiblity Tab. In here I tried running in compatibility mode for Windows XP with no effect. However when I selected the setting "Run in 256 colors" it works. However this is not practical as my desktop for other programs is horrible.Has anyone else had such issues with 64 Bit windows 7?ThanksJason

In the Wildfire 5 help menu it says that to publish a 3D PDF, you click "Save a Copy" and choose "PDF U3D" in the 'Type' box. But for me the option isn't there. I've seen evidence of the option in Wildfire 4 although I haven't installed it to check. Was the option removed or is it part of an add-on? I'm messing around with Parametric 2.0, M030 Trial and I have an issue where dialogs, pulldown menus, and other windows get there elements all jumbled up.The pulldowns will be black initially and then the commands will show when I mouse over them. Dialogs that I have to scroll in will kind of stop refreshing and elements will be displayed on top of each other.My video card isn't the best, it's a GTX 285M, and I have 8gb ram, i7 processor.I did some searches but nothing came up, has anyone else seen this or know of a fix?Thanks.ryanThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I've submitted an Idea Submission Add "solid" as pick filter choice. What I'm seeing is that none of the pick filter options including "Smart" allow you to do this.I am at a spot now where I have to be able to pick a solid so I can modify the solid. The problem is that I can't find a way to select only the solid.Could someone help me find a way to select only the solid? Hello,I'm using the multidfit function to find the regression model needed to fit my multivariant data which works almost perfect.However some of the regression parameters are not allowed to fall outside certain boundries.Is there a way to tell mathcad to calculate the best possible regression parameters for a given regression model within certain limits?many thanks.

I needed to move a subfolder so I used the Actions to Cut and Paste the subfolder from one folder to another. The ACTION status reported successful but the subfolder still shows in the tree structure in the previous location but subfolder is no longer in the contents window of the original folder. In contrast, the subfolder does not show up in the tree structure of the new folder but it does show up in the contents windows of that folder. How do I recover from this mess?

Dear experts,I'm working since three evenings to solve a (what I think) quite simple problem, but I can't manage to solve it. Therefore please help me!I try to multiply two functions that dependend on the same variable (phi_wind). I want to recieve the solution phi_wind = [r_W(0°)^2, r_W(30°)^2, ... r_W(330°)^2] but MathCAD calculates the scalarproduct instead. I tried everything (for loop,...), but I never get the solution I want to have. The calculation describes the turbulence problem of a wind turbine.Thank you for your help,Muh

Pretty new to Mathcad so forgive me if this is a simply question... Operating in SI units, I want my answers to be displayed in mm, MPa, kN etc. But they are coming out as N, m and Pa. Is there a way to change the unit of results (besides just SI, U.S. etc.)?Thanks

For linear algebra most students find it very difficult to "visualize" three or more variables. It is so much easier to understand the solution set and linear dependence on a simple xy coordinate plane. For three variables, most college algebra books include pictures and graphs of lines and planes in 3d space. I have found it very difficult to make a graph of lines in 3d space on mathcad. They are asking for constraints and I can not simply define an function of three ordered pairs and point and click my way to a graph. The only example that even comes close (in the mathcad rescource center) is a graph of a helix. That is far to difficult for me. Can any one show an example of three lines in an xyz 3d plot?

Hi All, Happy New Year!I am using Creo Elements direct Modelling Express 4.0 but am unable to generate 2d drawings from a model, even when following the quickstart project with the relevent quickstart example file - whenever I attempt to 'update all views' the program just locks up. In Ideas there was a command called "Dynamic Clipping". This would allow you to cut through and view a part or assembly real time using your mouse to slide the cutting plane through the assembly or part. Hi,   I having problem creating this feature I have attached some pictures to help illustrate what I am trying to achieve.   I have started with a Chamfer tool with the following settings:   45xD Set Chain 1 – Standard selected 3 sides,   I have also tried Rule based and selecting Partial loop but the model fails to generate when I exiting the sketch.   Hope you can help with some pointers please as I am new to proE coming from a SW background.
