What are the differences between Groups and Communities? Is the only difference that Groups can be created by users and Communities by PTC? Just curious.

I am editing existing extrusion profiles. In state of making all the sketches for extrusions on the “top” plane, my co-workers placed the sketch on top of a surface.I want to change the reverence plane from the surface to the “top” plane and so resolve my profile. Is this possible, and how?Stefan

Hello,I've found it's very helpful to include a time estimate for my NC programs, which I put in a comment block at the beginning of the file. Historically, I've manually added this, but there is a way to do it with the filter (FIL) file and a macro. I looked at the PTC macros and found some code that was supposed to do this, but it does not work. Basically, the algorithm being implemented does the following:(1) Store the current line number from the input CL file.(2) Switch the postprocessor into "simulation mode", which does not output any actual processed code.(3) Process the input CL file, one statement at a time, until the end of the file is encountered.(4) Get the cycle time from the appropriate "POSTF" function call.(5) Rewind the input CL file to the line immediately after the starting line you saved in (1).(6) Turn off the "simulation mode".(7) Process the remainder of the input CL file normally.This is accomplished via the following FIL file code:$$---- [ FIL commands begin ]

I Am looking for a way to rough and finish pockets that have different depths. I am trying both mill volumes and windows. If there are pockets with different depths it wants to add a slice for every pocket that's deeper than the previous. Therefore I could have a pocket that is shallower than my step depth and it still wants to mill it in multiple slices. The same goes for finishing. If I just want to finish the floor it adds a lot of unwanted slices. Is there a way for pro to calculate slices for each individual pocket? I would like to plot a sphere with xyz coordinates (-2,3,-1) for the center and a radius of the square root of 8. Without using create mesh or fitmap or anything else. Just define a F(x,y) and plot F.

Has anyone else come across bearing loads not summing correctly in Review Total Load?If I RTL on a single bearing load, in most cases there seems to be a small percentage error when compared to the force components originally entered.However, I've got one (out of four) in my current model which is showing a significant error: the load applied is 0, 11695, 94868 (with the hole axis being parallel to X), but RTL gives it as -115.264, 15329.4, 94420!All the loads show some percentage errors, including introducing a non-zero force along the axis; but that 3.6 kN error in Y is ruining my attempts to check that I've calculated and applied the loads correctly.Thoughts?This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Please check the attached file and change the initial guess value....I understand a intial guess value is important for a numerical solver....But for this problem...a deviation of 0.01 from the solution is enough to cause an error while using Find and it only happens in prime 2.0. I think this is telling me to put prime 2.0 in trash!When solving the exact same system of equation in MC15, the initial guess can practically be any thing....and it always converge with a tolerence of 10^-7This problem has multiple solution depending on the initial guess. And MC15 can always converge with tiny tolerence and find the corresponding answer. But prime 2.0 cannot!!BTW, The system of equation is just an exact copy of Harvey Hensley example on a CSTR, which was written in MC15.http://communities.ptc.com/docs/DOC-2373

Hello,totally new to Mathcad, the help files are not of great help at all.How do I find the Y value of the below curve where it intercepts the Y axis?The data comes from a CSV where one column is used for X and the other for Y. My goal is to connect the start of this curve to the end. Then I would like to find the maximum difference between the straight line and the actual curve (the X value).For now I can't even find out how to find the intersection value. I would not like to use a minimum/maximum function as the curve may look completely different for other datasets. The red line is created via the intercept function but it gives me the wrong starting value.I appreciate the help.

Good morning,We have some issues with a jsp page that works perfectly on Windchill 9.1. The page uses a java class that obtains the BOM of a given EPMDocument. The problem came when we upgraded to Windchill 10.1. Using the same jsp and the same java class, Windchill returns an AuthenticationException instead of a BOM.Does anyone know why? We appreciate any suggestion.Thank you.

I'm trying to convert a matrix of complex cartesian values into a matrix of complex polar values.So far I've tried the absolute function, but it's only giving me a single polar value, instead of a matrix of multiple polar values.I've had a look through the Quicksheets already but could'nt find what I was looking for.Any help would be greatly appreciated

HI, I am Rahul KULKARNI, working as a Design Engineer. We work on Technical Illustrations. I am using IsoDraw 7.0 to create illustrations.I would like to know whether there is any Macro exsisting by which we can change case of text. Normally, I copy the text matter into Word and by doing ctrl+shift+A change case and then copy-paste it in IsoDraw.Can somebody help me to create Macro. I am new to this stuff. Hello,I am trying to model a shaft-like part in torsion (Tripod CV Joint). I've been getting messages telling me some elements are insufficiently constrained, so I tried a simple modal analysis to verify my constraints. No matter how many surfaces are constrained on the model, however, I always get the same message that one or two elements are insufficiently constrained, which really doesn't make sense to me. The problem elements usually have either a node on a surface or a corner.Has anyone had similar problems?I have attached the file in question, but it has been created using a university license so there might be incompatibility with professional licenses.Thanks!

Hello!I have started working with Mathcad recently and I have been trying to "filter" my data in order to separete stationary and transient behaviors.My data is a two-collum matrix with time and temperature. I need to identify the begining and the end of a start up of a system, which will result in an increase of temperature and afterwars the temperature will be stationary.Has anyone tryed that before with Mathcad??Thank you for your attention.Best Regards,Bruno
