Dear fellow Pro/Engineer zealots,My company obviously is evaluating Creo as a replacement for Wildfire 4.0 and in the process we are considering the Flexible Modeling and Direct Modeling Application to be included in that upgrade. We have discovered what we consider a MAJOR issue (we consider it a bug). We've all been reading and hearing about all of the great things that flexible (Direct) modeling give us. However, with this introduction, one of the key benefits of Pro/Engineer has been broken. If you add a flexible edit feature (either using the Flexible Modeling extension in Creo Parametric or using Creo Direct), drawing dimensions will not update. This is true for both shown and created dimensions.What if the flex edit only moved a particular face by .05 mm? For the types of products we develop, this is often done. As a beginner , I konw this question maybe stupid ,but I've already checked almost all the file that I can get.     I want to mark some of the surfaces in the model using a color, and the rest of surfaces using the other color. And, I already successfully got a sequence of "item", but I didn't find any information about how to operate these items in color or material .Will someone give me some suggestion ? Thank you !

Hi folks,I'm looking for recommendations for managing installations of Creo 2 at a school site. Typically, machines are refreshed with a standard image and PC's are updated on an as-needed basis.What is the simplest way of managing a site install of Creo 2 with images like this?Two scenarios I can think of:1. Site license for schools edition on a local server -Create an installation pointing to a server with fully qualified name2. Installation tied to MAC address -I don't know how one could effectively push this out in an automated wayThanks,Josh

I've a macro that works through all layers in an illustration (making each one active as it goes along).I want to make it activate the original layer at the end of the macro (i.e. the one that was active before the macro was run).I can't find a way to do this.Anyone know how check which layer is currently active in a macro?

Hello everyone,I'm a relatively new convert to CREO and am adjusting to the differences. One thing that's changed (for me) from WF5 is that when I print a 2D drawing to PDF it prints only what I'm looking at on the screen. Other co-workers tell me their systems have always worked this way but in WF5 My system would always plot the whole drawing regardless of how I was viewing it (zoom/pan didn't matter.)Is this a setting that I just can't find or was I just lucky before?Thanks in advance!LandonThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Hello all.I am currently learning to use Creo and I have a task that requires generating cross section data over the length of a varying cross section model. I need cross section data at 1" increments across the total length of 159". That is a lot of cross sections to analyze so I am playing with User Defined Analysis to see if it will give me the various cross section property data as a function of length.I found User Defined Analysis in the tutorials which seems to accomplish the type of thing I want but the example given is analyzing a different type of data so it's not a direct correlation to what I'm trying to do. I have set up a model in a manner that I think would give me the data I need but it's not working properly and I am hoping that by describing my setup someone out there can tell me where I went wrong. So here is what I did....1. I loaded the model I want to analyze. 2. I then created a Field Datum Point on a feature to define the domain or range of the cross sections I w

Gurus,Thought I would be clever and model an o-ring as an ellipse using a sweep. Both the trajectory and cross section are ellipses with the major and minor diameter equall. This way you can show the o-ring as an oval in an assembly by making it flexible. NOT! The o-ring is driven by a family table for the trajectory major and minor diameters. Pro will not let you make a family table dimension flexible. Is there another way to accomplish this other than the obvious of making a seperate part. Does anyone know of a way to copy a requirement item and have all related traces also copy to other target documents?We have three levels of requirements documents, User, Design, and System. We want to store our requirements in librarys organized by feature. In each column I want the point (x,y,z) with the largest y-coordinate in the top-postions of each collumn and subarray and the one with the smallest y-coordinate in the last spot of the columns.I can sort an individual subarray the way Viktor Korobov has written, but of course I need to drag my x and z-coordinates along as well to maintain the integrity of my data. Hello,Whenever I use a unit such as Newton or velocity.... anything that has a "per second", MathCad multiplies it incorrectly. If I type out m*sec^-1 it works. Why is this and how do I fix it? It is very cumbersome when working with lbf and newtons.

Somewhere between Mathcad 2001i and Mathcad 15 the symbolic keyword "factor" will no longer give the ratio of integers for a rational fraction. Does anyone know which version this happened at? Does anyone know how to accomplish this in Mathcad 15? Thanks!

Hi @all, in the last days some Integrity-Items in our ChangeManagement were reworked, and in this context some field names are also changed. As an example: Until last week we had two test-tasks and a review-task in our workflow. These two tasks were now splitted into three tasks, the review-task is gone and all names were changed. So we had until last weeks two boolean flieds in our item: Task_A and Task_B. Now we have three boolean Fields: Test_1, Test_2 and Test_3, and Test_1 is new, Test_2 is the old Task_A and Test_3 is the old Task_B. The field for the review was a shorttext-field and it is gone.When we now look into the history of such an Item, there is no Task_A or Task_B, only the new names are visible. And more worse: even in the history there is no more review-field. So this kind of history seems not really usable, if we had to look at some items in ten years or later, no one will know about the renaming? Is there any history which holds the old values and fieldnames? kind re

I am facing opposite situation whereby i did not even export the .ui file, but yet when i tested by creating a new tab for my mapkeys, the newly added tab was still there after i closed the Creo 1.0 session and relaunched it. I'm having trouble using ODEsolve in MC14. I've gone through the examples, and they work fine. But the first problem I tried for real, doesn't work.The solve block has only two lines, and only the first derivative of one variable. But I'm getting the dread "This variable is undefined" error.I'm attaching the file. Any help would be appreciated.By the way, I've selected the adaptive solver. Jack Crenshaw

Hi everyone !I’ve got a question regarding deprecation.I've recently been working on porting old Windchill customizations (wind 8.0) to Windchill 10.1.When compiling the old java files I’m prompted with warnings about deprecation.While the goal ofcourse is to use different methods/interfaces to replace the once causing the deprecation warnings there are some cases where it would be more convenient not to … So how does the transition from deprecation to suspension work, is it usually between big releases like 10 – 10.1 or can it also be between “service updates”? So if these methods/interfaces etc “work” under Windchill 10.1 are there any guarantees that they will work under 10.1 in the future?
