Hello,I'm a really new new user to Pro/e and I'm having some difficulties, expecially because i't difficult to find some good tutorial! I'm modeling a metal plane plate and i'm trying to give the tolerance H7 to hole normal to the surface and throw the whole surface.I'm using Wildfire5, and i try to do insert -> note -> geometric torancesthen i'm lost Can you tell me the guidelines to do that or even better can you post to me a link to a tutorial?Second point is to show the quote of the part in the draw mode.Do i really have to quote again everything or there is a way to show the already existing quotes?Thank you very much in advance This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Using Mathcad to find the centroid location of general shapes.How'd he do? Would you take a different approach in finding centroids?

I have deleated and reinstalled PE3 several times.--The program starts ,flashes a work screen but then quits.It may need login info but there are no screens to do this, where is this info kept?

I'm trying to find the maximum value of a curve. simple stuff.but it fails and gives totally wrong answers.File is attached M14

I have read recently that 3rd order intermodulation terms will be be 3 times greater in bandwidth than the original bandwidth of either of the original two signals. I tried to verify that, but am having some difficulty. I was trying to use the Heaviside Unit Step functions, to create rectangular passbands. I would appreciate any help on this. First of all, I am a new user, so please bear with what might be a simple question.If I wanted to solve for y(x) in the following situation: y '(x) = x y(0) = 1 I understand how to set up the integral and assign the answer to y(x)y(x):= indefinte integral x dx + c (with the +c outside of the integral)And I can type iny(0)= 1 Solve--> to find c. (bold equal sign)Now, how do I put the c back into y(x) so that y(x) would then symbolically evaluate to x^2 + 1?Of course, this is simple enough to do by hand. I'm asking for the steps so I can use them in more complicated problems.PhilP.S. I don't want to use PDSolve as this would be used in teaching a DE class.

I had to re-install MC14 for various reasons. It seems to be working fine now, except that it crashes on Print Preview and, at least sometimes, gives a runtime error "unable to read memory at....".Ideas?

We are converting to a 64-bit server monolithic server architecture in our development server configurations and found out Fast doesnt work on 64-Bit. Does any one have an installation process for installing Fast on a different computer than the File Server?Looking for high level, I.E. do I start install on the File Server or on the seperate 32-bit server and point to the file/data server?

All of a sudden when I started trying to run MC14 (Windows XP) I started getting the error messageMicrosoft Visual C++ Runtime LibraryRuntime Error!etc.The application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.I followed the suggestion in an earlier post to install the prereqs before re-installing MC14. I do not get the error message any more, but now the MC14 doesnt start.Help?

Can soemone tell me how to find out if a file exist or not directly from mathcad. For example, I hace a mathcad file name "mymathcad". When "mymathcad" is open I need ti check if the file "c:\myfile.xls" exists or not.Presently I am doing this with an Excel macro but I also don't know hwo to excecute an Excelmacro from within a mathcad file.Thank for the helpYouki

Any one has an example of polar plot using excel component.Or a way for the result of a function be exported to an excel sheet for plotting in excel.

I surmise that his recent "malicious bug" diatribe was a rant too far for some sensitive soul or other at PTC.However, in spite of the occasional misguided bee in his bonnet and the often less than tactful way he expresses his views, jmg has contributed a lot, both to the old collaboratory and the current forum, helping many Mathcad users, old and new.It's a weak Company that can't take criticism, even if that criticism is unjustified (especially if it is unjustified!).I suggest you re-enable jmg.Alan

Since I am new to MathCad, I am hoping that some skilled experts could enlighten me with a solution to this small (hopefully) problem! My project(master thesis) is a massflow diagram for a theoretical bioenergy plant. The calculations (about 10 pages), starts with some pre-defined constants, goes through the calculations and calculates different result parameters (flows in/out, energy produced, energy consumed, energy exported ...).In order to analyse the relationship between the pre-defined constants and the results, I want to run the worksheet multiple times (100) while altenating a chosen parameter. Doing this manually is not an optimal solution.I am looking for a script which execute these steps:1. Starting with a list of the different alternatives for a parameter.2. Run my worksheet (AA.xmcd) once for every alternative.3. Return the results for each run and store them (together with the alternating parameter) for further data analysis.Is there a simple way I could automate this pr

Hi all, there is a config option param_dec_places. I have set the value to 2, & when i view my parameters (tools, parameters) they are indeed to 2 decimal places. Now, i have created a drawing with tables & these parameter values are shown in these tables, but here the values are shown to 3 decimal places. We have a drawing that we are trying to revise. It was made in the past with a different version of Pro/E. Whenever you go to add a new reference dimension and middle click to place dim. The dimension shows up and then 1/2 a second later disappears. Undo says that you can undo the creation of a dimension, but nothing shows up on the screen. This seems to happen on all sheets even with newly placed views.Is there a drawing option that does not allow new dimensions. There are original dims on the drawing. We were able to update the template to the new format. We can added Parameters and new views. We can edit the text and move old dims. My elevation function depends of day of year (d) and decimal hours of the day(hrs)I want to find Solar Noon the point of highest elevation angle.I have done it for just one day of the year. But i want it to be able to calculate solar noon for any day of the year. My mathcad worksheet is crazy slow. I have highlighted the problem code in yellow box.I have named it ProblemDate(d). Once you rename it Date(d) it's gonna slow down a lot.scroll down slowly and you will see that the equations are now taking more time to compute. Once you hit the first graph it will just go to sleep.Can anyone tell me how to optimize it. i'm attaching my code. Mathcad 14 only. it contains scripts that mathcad 11 doesn't like.

Hi,I have linear equations in matrix form like A*X=B. (Given are A and B; A is a 15x15, B a vector 15 long)Of course I want to obtain the solution vector X 😉I can achieve this in mathcad via lsolve(A,B) or X=(A^-1)*B.Now here is the problem: if the values of matrix A are calcuated by other matrices inside mathcad I obtain different (wrong) resultsfor X in comparision to a matrix A already filled with numbers and copied out of excel. I checked the two versions of A and they are identical.Is there a problem with formats or have I missed something?Jan

I can change my working directory, but every time I re-open ProE it changes back to the default location. How do I change and save the working directory location?
