Hi,im having trouble with finding the peaks of a various data sets.im attaching 3 data sets.. is there any way that the peaks can be found for them?im thinking of smoothing the data first using supsmooth and then it will be easier. so im attaching the matcad 11 file and im also adding some explanation within it.update:searched google and came accross this. its one of the sample fileshttp://support.mathsoft.com/support/mcad8/Examples/Locate_peaks.mcdbut its not there anymore.. does anyone know where can I get it? or is it even what im looking forMessage was edited by: UKMan

Alright so I have a data set that when graphed produces 2 peaks or are two distributions..i want to split the graph in two...for example if the data set isset= [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25]and i want to spit it into two vectors.. say till element 13.. so that the split looks like thisset1 = [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13]andset2 = [14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25]will a while loop work for this? or is there a better methodi tried with while loop but the syntax i used just sums up till element 13. 😕update:k so just thinking out loud here but shouldnt the following just simply split the vector:set[0;set[dwhere d is set to the mid point (13th value)i tried that but it only gives me the value at 0.. that is set[0

I am a 4th year Mechanical Engineering Student doing my Honors Project.I have been trying to understand programming in MathCAD for about 2 weeks now and am not really getting any where.My problem is that I want to filter a data array from a SoDAR so that when a cell contains a user defined value then the row containing that cell is not included in the new array output by the program.I am also going to be doing some more filtering on these files where rows or columns will be left out if values are equal to, greater than or less than user defined values.I have searched the Internet and asked people and haven't found the solution yet.Please could some one help!Thank youJames*I have also attached an example of the data file I am filtering. the real things are a lot bigger.

Hello again good people of the PTC community. I want to do something... not sure if its possible.I have an assembly. To simplify things lets say I have a box with a lid. The lid is created with a pin connection and some mechanism rules applied. I want to show the assembly in two states on the same drawing. Lid opened and lid closed. I know I could do this if I created another copy of the assembly but this isn't a very good way to do it for obvious reasons. The question is described as following. An model function with implict form is chosen to fit the experimental data (x,y)unknown parameters to be fitted are a, epsilon and epsilon_A.I dont know how to evaluate parameters with the implicit form model in mathad.does anyone give me some suggestions?

Since I have had MC15 I have noticed a problem.If Mcad is loaded then almost exactly at 1 min intervals the explorer screen refreshes. So if for instance I am looking at a load of photos in Explorer (not IE), every minute it jumps back to the first one. Close MCad and the problems goes away. We are running on PC under XPAnyone else noticed this problem and more importantly, anyone solved it !Ian

In system settings, units are set to inches and drawing units show as "Inches | deg | oz" on the lower status bar. When I save as STL, it saves in mm. My CAM program, which expects inches, thinks my 1 inch part is 25.4 inches. How do I get it to save the STL file in inches? Thanks! hellois there a way for mathcad to export images (of the math regions) with a transparent background?all i can do is save it as a webpage and get all the math regions as png or jpeg files then copy&paste the to PPTbut those have white background and i can't use most of my templates (for powerpoint).btw, why ppt? we need to present it in class and a ppt presentation is required.another question:is it possible that mathcad show like this?x:=1y:=x+1y=(1)+1=2can mathcad show the substituted values?it is easier to understand solutions this way especially when working with very long equations..thanks.

helloi just introduced to the explicit evaluation (just 2 days ago) and having some problems..see attached1) can i set a limit to the number of decimal places in explicit evaluations? i tried limiting it in the "format > result", "tools > worksheet options" ..i want to limit the decimal places of x2 (in the explicit evaluation of h2), i don't need that many decimal places displayed.2) can the explicit evaluation use the latest value? something like thish2=80.431Btu/lbmin wt:=h1-h2 explicit h1,h2 -> 91.278Btu/lbm - 80.431Btu/lbmNOTwt:=h1-h2 explicit h1,h2 -> 91.278Btu/lbm - [ 0.9314...(84.56 ... )+ 24.511 Btu/lbm]

I'm a student using Mathcad 14 to perform symbolic calculations for stability analysis problems. Basically, I'm am taking multiple derivatives of multivariable symbolic functions. When I evaluate symbolically, I find a term in the solution 'function'. I don't know what this means or what 'function' it may be replacing. Have I accidentally changed a sheet setting or something?It is very hard to find any help on this as "function" is included in tons of Mathcad help discussions.Thanks!

Hi, I am trying to use a histogram as a means to measure image uniformity. To do this I first down sample the raw image to a binned version (this is the tabled data in the worksheet). I then partition this downsampled image into a histogram and use this for a calculation. As my images can have a widely differing intensity profiles, I want to keep the number of bins fixed rather than bin with an absolute value of intensity. I thus normalise the bin.The whole worksheet is extremely slowIs there anything I can do to speed it up.ThanksJasonBTW, I have finally converted to mathcad 15!

I'm working on what I though to be an easy problem to predict temperature of a tank as a function of time. The tank contains water and some solid pellets, each containing solvent. The tank is heated with a steady source of energy. The solvent is boiled off. The solvent fraction of the liquid, pellets, and evolving vapor are all known and are each a function of temperature.Odesolve seems to work but when I attempt to get an answer from the generated function or generate a graph, an error "This value must be a scalar" is reported.It really has me confused. Obviously I don't use Odesolve often enough. Any help would be appreciated. Best regards,

I want to be able to graph a variable number of line segments, which may or may not be connected.Say: P1 to P2, P3 to P4, P1 to P4, etc. Can easily do by just plotting x-y corrdinate pairs for each end (x1 x2) and (y1 y2), but then I must include each set in the graph individually.Plese see the attached; it seems that to be assured of getting the desired result I must do the following:Each row of the X and Y matrices contains the corrdinates of each end of the segment, but I must add to that as follows: each row of X ( xP1 - xP2 - xP1 - xLarge), Y (yP1 - yP2 - yP1 - yLarge)and then in addition I must add a reference to a non-existant point. (j=0 to 5, instead of 4)This is the only way I ave been able to "pick up and move the pen" to another piont.I am almost embarrased to post that because it makes no sense, but maybe it does?Is there a coherent explaniation for this? Hello,I am fairly new with mathcad and I just have a quick question about setting up an equation.I want to have the equation show the required variables and then show the actual values of the variables.See Attached photo.Now I write out the variables then disable the equation and then re-write again with the numbers in. Is there a way to do this with out having to re type. Thank you for your time.
