Hi This is my first time trying to install Windchill, so I am sure I my issue is a simple mistake, but I have been struggling to find out the cause and need some insight or resources that can point me in the right direction.   I am trying to install Windchill 12.0.0.   I am trying to do the install on a VM with a Windows server 2016 datacenter Evaluation (I am using a trial license, I don’t know if this matters).           I have Java 15 installed and run the setup file with the following command in powershell:     When I do this I receive the following error. Attached are the log files associated with this error     I also have java 1.8 update 202 installed. When I run the install with this version of java I receive the following   I also get the above error when I use Jdk-11.0.7 which was recommended in the software matrix for windchill 12.0.0.0   I am sure it is a simple thing that I missed or didn’t do right. &nbs

Hello,   I have to send some alarms, warnings and errors from a device (microcontroleur) to thingworx. The SDK type has not been choosen yet, but I would personnaly prefer the Java SDK. Because the quality of the network is very poor, I have to prioritize the message sending. It means that I have to make sure that the errors will be send first. - Is that possible using the SDK? - or should I manage myself a queue of messages ? - How can I make sure that a value has been successfully sended / received using updateSubscribedProperties?   Can I also switch the network used if one is down, for instance switching from Wifi to GSM? In java I would open a socket for a given interface, is that also possible?  socket.bind(ni.getInetAddresses().nextElement());  

Hi, I installed ThingWorx Manufacturing Apps and a KepServerEX (test) environment.   The connection looks fine, but when I look at the device list, the Status and Alert are shown in HTML code instead of the icon itself. It refers to the correct PTC.Factory.AlerStatus_Red and ...._Green. Please refer to the attachment.   What can I do to solve this?  

Hello all, hope you are safe.   Maybe someone has an idea how to resolve this. I dont know how to validate a step created en Vuforia agains the real model using the model target. The idea is verify if the user has had assembly correctly the real product comparing it agains how the 3d model in that specific step should look like, if not, the user will recibe a warning, if the assembly is correctly them the user could continue with next steps.   Thanks in advance for your time   Luis

I am not able to go forward in the steps here. Cannot find this - IndConn_Tag1. This guide does say that I need a kepware server. Can someone guide me on both of these topics?

Hi,I have a question about section view in Creo Parametric 3.0. I'd like to create section in which some elements (like screws and nuts) are full-visible. E.g. look at the picture below, please. There's flange coupling where right view is a section but elements like shaft and screw with nut are not hatched. Could you tell me how can I achieve that in Creo 3.0 Drawing?Thank you in advance for each answer!

Is there any place in Windchill where a restriction can be placed on an object's revise statsus? Let me explain what I would like. Everything is created at version A and the Design state. When it is promoted, it is at the Prototype state. We had an engineer do a revise to the version A parts, bottom up. When he got to the top level, the revise caught some of the version B parts he had already revised and made them version C. I would like Windchill to block a part at the design state (other than version A) from being revised to prevent this from happening again. It is this possible with some preference or will I need custom code? The same scenario is with a version 1 or higher object at the pre-release state.  

Could somebody let me explain both protocols and also the most apt difference between these two?

Hi,I´m currently using MathCad_Prime6.0 trial version as I need to edit some of my old scipts calculating statistic methods from my former studies. So I use those scripts as I set them up 5 months ago, calculating probability distributions and convolutions of them.Trying to plot them in a diagram, identically according to e.g. >>https://support.ptc.com/help/mathcad/r6.0/de/PTC_Mathcad_Help/example_prob_dens_and_cum_prob_dist.html#<<, plotting does not work graphically (there is only a single point in the plot depending on the diagram type, for instance), nor is an error message displayed. When changing the diagram type, the scaling, the variables or the functions nothing happens either. So is this connected to the trial version licence or am I missing something else? Unfortunately I cannot add a screenshot, but its excactly the typing of the example shown in the link. Maybe you can give me a short support. Thanks a lot in advance! Marco

I'm working on importing and classifying our engineering standards into Windchill.  I have imported documents on a large scale before and have even set IBAs while doing the import.  For Parts Classification the import of the binding attribute while importing the parts was a little different.  Can I transfer the logic from wtParts import to document import but match it to the nuances of the document import spreadsheet?  Is this something that can even be done?  I have a couple hundred documents I am importing in and it would be nice to be able to do this all in the import file.   On a side note, is anyone else classifying documents in Windchill 11.2 or 12.0?   Thank you, Brian

Why I don't want to create a chart.Will you help?

When I use the Import Parameters from an XML file. I have noticed 3 things. 1) If the parameter has a restricted parameter list associated with it, it will not import. 2) If the parameters are designated, when imported they have to be manually designated. 3) An imported parameter that already exists in the file will have its assigned value erased after the import.   I am on Creo 4 m080   Has anyone had an experience with overcoming these limitations? We hired a couple of new designers and they created hundreds of parts using the piping and framework modules and these did not use our default start part so parameters we want in Windchill are now missing from their files. We are hoping an import will pf the parameters will allow us an easy method of correcting the files.  

Iam able to extract text from symbols and detail notes by getting a handle of notes/symbol using the following code,modelitems =  detailItemOwner.ListDetailItems(EpfcDetailType.EpfcDETAIL_NOTE, 1) Now i need to extract Dimension Texts from a drawing.the modeItems that are returning from the above code does not contain dimension textsAny idea on how to extract those informations?    

Hi,  It seems that the expression can only accept 3 parameters,  the 4th and consequent parameters are not recognized.  In the attached screenshot,  console.log(thur) print nothing whatever the base type is STRING or BOOLEAN.  And the 4th parameter has a strange border .

Hi,   I have a templateThing which configuration has a password parameter. Thing which are created dynamically from this template get its password from the configuration of another thing. The problem is, i don't know how to copy this password. According to this topic https://community.ptc.com/t5/ThingWorx-Developers/Password-Not-Copy/m-p/608940#M36151 it seems to be not possible. Is it right ? If no, how can i do ? If yes, does anybody have a suggestion to achieve that ?   Thanks.  

Hi Team,   Why there is difference in results of below two services of LicensingSubsystem?   1)  GetCurrentLicenseInfo- This service is giving me the no of days for one of my instance as 15. 2)  GetDaysRemainingInLicense- This service is giving me the no of days for same instance as -14 (minus 14)   What is the difference between these two results and what is the significance of negative value of second service?    

Hi Experts,   I am trying to install Thingworx Mfg Apps extension on my thingworx foundation 9 instance. I am able to import the extensions sucessfully. However in the Manage-->Installed extensions page , i am unable to edit the database thing PTC.SCA.SCO.PostgresDatabase. The preview and view buttons seems to be disabled. Infact, i could'nt edit anything that was imported, so i am not sure how to edit these from here. I followed the help center installation instructions, but am i missing some step? I am looking to change the direction the tool moves so that it moves down the face of the part with each pass.   It wants to cut in the z direction.  I would like it to cut in the x direction.   I believe this yellow arrow has something to do with it.  Is there a way to rotate this arrow?    

Hello,   I'm just getting started with my fundamentals ThingWorx class for architects. PTC academy provides a .xml file ("FundamentalsGlobalEntities.xml") which contains  the supporting entities i will use to build an IoT application. It wants me to import the .xml file.   In the attached screenshot you will be able to see the message I receive after hitting the import button.   Does anybody know whats the problem and how to solve it?   Thank you so much for you help   Kind regards Philipp

I am trying to pinpoint a problem with many users expierencing random crashing while running Creo 2.0 M100 off a server install. I am looking through some of the traceback.log files and I see patterns but I want to know if there is a way to tell what is actually causing the problem (hardware, software, graphic, etc). I am not the one using Creo when it crashes and PTC support always wants to know exactly what was being done when the crash happens. I can't always tell them since I am not familiar with the program to even relay the message between the users and PTC. All users are on Win7 x64 that meet PTCs min requirements to run Creo. The one thing that may be causing issues is the graphics cards. They are not included in PTC's support\certified list.   The two things that I see in all of the logs are lines referencing xtop:0x0000.... and atio6axx:0x0000..... PTC did tell me that most atio6axx lines mean an issue with graphics cards. Two parital log files are below. Can anyone tell
