Currently all lines of the views in the drawings are the same, and only get to their required state (thickness) during export, when pen tables control how thick the lines are. I would like to remove the use of pen tables and start seeing actual thicknesses on the screen during development of the drawings. I tried playing with line thicknesses in line styles and I think I could make it work. But I only managed to change the line thickness for existing views, however any new model views still default to thin lines, regardless what I set as default line style. I might be using that default line style functionality wrongly because no matter what I do with it it doesn't seem to change anything.  Is there a way to set the styles of the lines for new views in the drawings? I would like to set the model edges to be slightly thicker than surfaces (quilts) of cosmetic threads and crosshatches in cross-sections.  I am on Creo 9. Many thanks for the help.

We had some custom apps developed and one of the design decisions was to use data tables for some records but others were too vast, so they externalize those tables in another table. In reality, they created a custom table in the Thingworx database with its own connector. My question to field was this a wise decision? Should custom data tables exist separately from the main tables that drive Thingworx? What is best practice here? 

Surprised I was not able to easily find this. I was successful at exporting and importing my custom groups but I would have expected that when I exported the navigate_view_named_group or navigate_contribute_named_group and tried importing them to my new server, it did not like this. I get that this is an OOTB group and there might be some restrictions around it.  I have hundreds of users I need to populate to these groups so what's the recommended solution?  We certainly aren't expected to manually load all these users in one by one right?

Hi folks, I am looking into the possibility, need and touchpoints to integrate Windchill and MES. If anybody has done the same, could you share some light on the recommended middleware, and what should be the framework one should follow to do the integration. Thanks. 

For all of Mathcad's reputation as being a primary math software, it's always a little frustrating that it can't seem to replicate and utilize the math notation commonly used in textbooks, reference books, etc. Many, many references will use special characters of some type in their variable names, but this seems to be next to impossible to replicate in Mathcad worksheets, so I have to use alternate naming for those variables, and then add text noting that this variable is really the one everyone is familiar with that uses a symbol in the variable name. For instance, when referencing stresses parallel and perpendicular to the plane of interest, it's not unusual to use a term like f‖ and f┴ to denote those. (See the screenshot below for how these are were supposed to look. Hi Everyone, I am currently working with SolidWorks and Inventor, both of which are successfully integrated with Windchill. The attributes are correctly mapped in the EPM Documents and are also visible within the respective CAD tools.   However, I’ve encountered an issue where these attributes are not appearing in Creo View when viewing the PVZ files, even though they are present in the native files. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? If so, I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to resolve this.   Regards, AJ

from the subject, running 6.12 ThingWorks KEPWare Server with IoTGateway REST Server configured as write enabled (for endpoints). When attempting to write a value to a tag through REST call, the following is returned:   { "writeResults": [ { "id": "<tag_name>", "s": false, "r": "Request rejected." } ] }    It has been observed that the issue clear away once I run an OPCQuick Client and attempt to browse tags. All the tags are hosted locally (trying to write to a simulation driver tag). Issue reoccurs when re-initializing/restarting the server. Any ideas? ===Update 1===The initial configuration was that the tag (IoT Item) "Capture Options" is configured to be "Explicit Read" rather than "Scan Tag". When using the latter, the issue doesn't occur. The requirement though is to be "Explicit Read"

I have a large portion of calculations that I will be calling a few times and I would like to avoid repeating it it's not a simple function f(x) = x^2, that I could just create a custom one. it has loops, etc I saw a suggestion of putting everything in a solve block, but the solve block has these options (guess, constraints, solver) that I will not be using in my routine:Also, after I defined the subroutine, how do i call the results?i am using Mathcad 9.0.0i attached the file that contains only the part I would like to be the subroutine itselfit has the Inputs, Calculations, Outputs. Would anyone know how to model a locking patch screw feature like the one you can find in the STEP files that are available from McMaster Carr with the threads modeled? As the picture shows, there is a very small protrusion coming off the screw threads to represent the locking patch. I can easily create a datum curve and project it onto the threads, which for all practical purposes is sufficient. But I am quite annoyed that I cannot figure out how to actually make it as a protrusion. If McMaster Carr can figure it out, it seems like I should be able to. I find the visible locking feature quite handy to make sure the locking patch is actually engaged with the mating threads. Hello, We have 3 jLink (java) applications/plugins correctly running on PTC Creo 7 + Java 8. Now we're testing Creo 7 + Java 11 (because of future upgrade to Creo 9/10 with Java 11). We've compiled plugins files with a same JDK11 but one of the plugins fails running with message 'Startup of application "app name" failed.' Plugins configuration is same, they're using same otk/pfc dependency, same java version for compilation and same Creo 7 instance.  I've found this article but most of points are not suitable as other two plugins are running properly. Is there a more detailed log file of creo application startup to see any detailed information what goes wrong when starting plugin? Any other idea how to debug/investigate it? Thank you very much.

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.1 and Datecode with CPS 12.1.2.7I was curious how to compile just our custom Java code. I can't seem to find the right ant command.Should the Java files be put in /codebase/src/... and then I issue an ant command?If I compile our custom code to a Jar instead of several .class files, does this result in better performance? Where should the .jar file go?

Dear Team    one of our client facing the datalogger related issue the below error event is showing 1/6/2025 10:40:32 AM Error Data Logger Plug-in Unable to query recordset on Log Group 'NOF_PLC_IMP4'. Reason: The message body may not be NULL. A zero-length UNICODE or binary string is allowed.The statement has been terminated. 1/6/2025 10:41:11 AM Error Data Logger Plug-in Unable to query recordset on Log Group 'NOF_PLC_IMP5'. Reason: Transaction (Process ID 177) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction. after this error data is not logging to the SQL so for temporary solution i create the new log group with the same configuration & data is logging to SQL.

Hello, I imported a CAD assembly into Creo and now I want to export the assembly as a creo asm file. Would it be possible to export all files in that assembly as a creo part file? Please see the image attached. Also, I noticed that when I export it is only the assembly not the parts within the assembly is there a way around this or is this the extent of exporting? Thanks in advance!     

I am using ThingWorx Platform Release 7.3I have a Thingworx 7.3 installation that I need to bring OPC data into. All information available on the internet talks about an IndustrialGateway thing that apparently is only available in TWX 8.0 or later. Upgrading my installation is not an option. Are there any other option to bring OPC data into 7.3 Thingworx?
