How do I add objects to a workspace without using a config spec filter?   Say I search for objects last modified in a very narrow date range and want to add those exact versions to a workspace.  They may be the latest or they may not be.  Choosing the "Latest" filter doesn't collect the correct versions and the "As Stored" filter isn't listed as a choice.  What is the right way to add the exact versions of the objects returned from a search to a workspace?  Thanks.

Dear All, I am trying to perform windchill cloning but I am having problem with method server and server manager getting crashed.  Steps I performed: 1. Datapump of oracle database. ->expdp 2. Exported LDIF file and took backup of WindchillDS.  3. Copied HTTPServer, Windchill folder from host system 4. Setup a server with same host and domain name. Installed Oracle with same SID and credentials as host system. Run the PSI with standalone components where I installed only WCDS, Java, OCU. Then imported dump file of oracle using impdp. Imported ldif and restored using WindchillDS backup.    Changed host property in db.properties file with host name and java.server.rmi.hostname in wt.properties file.  Since in host machine filevault was setup I changed filevault property to false instead of true.    After launching windchill shell and starting windchill, server manager gets crashed sometime leaving behind background method server running. Hi there!I have a problem with launching my thingworx localhost: As I type in http://localhost/Thingworx/Composer/ in the web browser, it just says that the site cannot be shown.But my tomcat server is already running, I tested it by typing http://localhost:8080/ (it says that the server is up and running).I would appreciate any help or advice you can give me, thank you so much in advance!!p.s.: is there any tutorial for connecting thingworx with a database? Hello,   I have installed the Manuf Apps 8.2, connected with Kepware 6.4. I want to create Assets in order to represent the Devices that I have in kepware. Unfortunately I have not found a step by step guide to show how create an asset and then connect it with kepware data.    First I would like to know if my vision is good : one Device in Kepware = one Asset ?    1. In the App Configure and Setup I have created Assets (screenshot 1). 2. In the App Configure and Setup I added additionnal attributes and managed to get my Kepware data (screenshot 2) 3. In the App Asset Advisor, my assets are displayed but are not connected... I don't know why ? Is the fact to retrieve a data from Kepware is not enough ? (screenshot 3) 4. In the Asset Management App I can see only one Asset, why (screenshot 4)    Also why is there two apps "Asset Advisor" and "Asser Management" which are really different ?   Thank you

Hello, Is there an option or a way to register a Windchill server for launching Creo 4.0 (compatible with SSO functionality) ? Actually, we have scripts that copy “srv_mgr_db3.fldx” files to help our users to register to PDMLink server without the hassle of entering the url address. These scripts allow keyusers to launch on dev platforms also. PTC hotline says fldx files are not supported with SSO (Single Sign On) and Creo 4.0.   Do you know if there is a config option or other methodology to connect to Windchill server after launching Creo 4.0 with SSO functionality? Hello   I'm trying to comptue the stress in ground below a circular loading, at differend depths, at different locations below the load.   The formula which I use, include Bessel's function. Reference to the formula can be found here: http://onlinepubs.trb.org/Onlinepubs/hrr/1963/39/39-004.pdf   The used formula is the equation 3c.   The formula seems to give reasonable answer with most locations and depths, but some depths seem to give strange stress values (peaks in the graphs).   Could someone explain why these errorneous values appear and if there is a way to overcome this problem.   Thank you for your help.

Greetings all.   Does anybody know if there is a way to take a screenshot inside of Creo within a window? I currently use the printscreen button and paste it into Paint. I then select the area I want and put that in an email. I am looking for a way to select a window in Creo and paste that into an email without having to use Paint.   Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi, I'm trying to add a NC path to one of my models to allow it to be milled out of a bar by a CNC machine, but every time I go to start a NC manufacturing, or any sort of manufacturing for that matter in the Creo 2 student edition, I don’t get the manufacturing tab or any options. It thinks about it for a second then doesn’t do anything. I get no change from whatever screen I'm in. As a stopgap, I created a NC work piece over the top of the model in assembly, but I can’t get manufacturing to load or open to do anything else. I feel like I’m missing something, pointers?

We have about 8 or 10 Kepservers communicating to ThingWorx (and have for several months), and recently started having regular crashes(multiple times a day) of Tomcat in our production environment. It doesn't hang or get slow, Tomcat just stops abruptly. I noticed the crash log from Tomcat listed a boatload of blocked threads, I've attached a sample here. Through lots of trial and error (and much help from PTC support), we identified that it must be somehow related to our remote connections, because with the WSExecutionProcessinng subsystem turned off for several days we had no issues.We stopped the actual crashing by adding the JVM argument  "-XX:-UseAESIntrinsics" after deep googling and shots in the dark led us to find a lot of similarities with this issue.​ However, the underlying issue I think is still happening, as we still get daily errors in the Tomcat std_err log that look like the below.I'm running thin on things to investigate (but do still have a few), but has anyone h

Hello,   I am trying to simulate an assembly (composed by subassemblies), but I don't see, at the upper level, the simulation entities which were defined in its subassemblies (rigid links, points...ie simulation features).   It seems it doesn't even recognize them, as the icon of the sim features is not even visible at upper level.   I enclose (and attach) a video to try to make it clearer:   (view in My Videos)   If it may make a difference, the asm is structured with simp reps both at subasm level and at master level.   Anyone has experienced this issue? how could I solve this?   thanks

I created a very simple “weather dashboard” and its working ok when previewing with Composer.I was wondering how I can set a custom URL to view it as a user?When I use server.com/ThingWorx/Mashups/mashup it just shows a blank page.  So I suppose by question is two part:1. How can I access a mashup URL outside of Composer view?2. Can that URL be customized?thanks!

Our company has just migrated from Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 3.0 to Creo 4.0.  We currently generate both PDF files and Creo plot files to document our drawings.  The plot files are then published to an imaging software.  Since the migration, we have tried to adjust our pen table to match the line weights that we saw in our PDF's before the migration.  However, we are finding that changing the pen table appears to affect both the PDF files and the plot files, and our "optimal" PDF settings result in less than optimal looking plot files.  We would like to use separate settings or pen tables for each, if possible.  Could anyone please advise regarding how to do so?  Thank you.   We currently have "pdf_use_pentable" set to "yes" in our global config.pro, and have a path in our config.pro file for the "pen_table_file" setting (to where our pen table resides).   Also, our PDF's are created using the "File ---> Save As ---> Save a Copy ---> (

Hi everyone,   I have been trying to design a few bolted connections, and am having issues with the generic bolt library.  My company is relatively new to Creo, and everywhere else I have worked all the setup and admin work had already been done with respect to part libraries.  Here we have a bare bones application and no IT support locally for Creo (and half of our files are locked to prevent me from editing them by our IT admins).   A co-worker was trying to design a 7/16" bolted connection and came to me when he couldn't get the screw tool to work.  Using only the inch catalog, I can find a 5/16" hex bolt but no 7/16", or I can use the ANSI-English library and find both but then the washer option isn't available.  I have tried checking all the washer related .mnu and .dat files (primarily wa.dat and wa.prt) and it appears all the parameters for a 7/16" bolt and washer are available.  I can even import a 7/16" bolt and washer sep

Hello PTC Community,    I am attempting to utilize my Moment-Curvature Interaction (M-C) to calculate beam rotations and displacements. Currently, I have a worksheet that writes my M-C data to a text file (not included here); the attached worksheet reads the data file, creates a linear interpolation function describing moment as a function of curvature. Next, I have a simply-supported beam loaded with equal symmetrically placed point loads (0.5P); I have defined the moment diagram as a piecewise linear function of length (x).    My goal is map curvatures across the length of the beam, using moments as the method for "matching" the curvatures to length. Hello , I have a thing template, where i have written a service to get the property value in the MultiRowTable format using "GetPropertyValuesAsMultiRowTable" and used Query to filter out certain properties. I have thing which uses this template, when i run the service in the composer from the Thing i see the values coming in. But when i use the same service in the mashup i see the value NAN. Note: i have used dynamic thing template and passed the thing name to the EntityName. Not sure what am i missing.   Thanks Sunay
