Hello,I am working from a Naval Architecture book which gives a problem to which I want to use MatCAD Prime to go through the problem myself (as the book has no explanation).The initial expression is:KM=0.5T+B^2/12TWhere the expressions are:KM is a naval arch term which represents the distance from the Keel of a ship to the MetacentreB is the Breadth of the ShipT is the Draught.The book gives a plot of the above expression for a ship with a breadth (B) of 15 and shows how as T increases KM reduces to a point.The book goes on to state that you can find the draught (T) when KM is at its lowest value by differentiating the above expression with respect to T and equating to zero. It then gives this as:dKM/dT = 0.5-B^2/12T^2and states in the example of a ship with B of 15 the answer would be 6.12.I however cannot work out how this was derived or how to use MatCAD to solve such a problem.Any advice warmly welcomed.Andy

I'm having trouble creating good surfaces for a fan shroud. It is for converging from a rectangular duct to two side by side axial fans. First problem I am having is getting second order (C2, G2...) contious surfaces. What's the best method for this?Second problem is creating the saddle like surface between the two axial fans. Have tried various approaches, but no can do.Attached is an image of the curves and a couple surfaces I have been able to create (though not C2 surfaces). Also attached is the Creo Parametric 2.0 file I've been working in which should make it fairly obvious what I'm trying to do.TIA,~Dan

Hi everyone,my license for PTC Creo Parametric 3.0 expired so I followed the instructions in the 'Re-licensing guide' as here linked http://apps.ptc.com/schools/references/relicense_creo3_schools_standard.pdf. I wrote the Product code in the PTC Installation Assistant dialog box, clicked install and entered my user and password. Once verified the code there is a red error message: "invalid product code". Why do I have this problem if I closely followed the instructions above?? What could be the problem with the copied product code? Thanks

I made a mathcad file, that calculate the area, first moment of area (whole), second moment of area, centroidal axis etc.All only depending on the coördinates that you choose.It is usefull to quickly see the moment of inertia of each shape and apply this in further calculations.But for futher calculation, now i want to know the First moment of area  (S), some call this the static moment, over the height.This to easy see the critical points of the beam. On 15 december 2015, I have published two files relating to the same subject: the power lines in DC. The first .pdf and the other xmcd.zip. Why, after downloading the file with extension xmcd.zip and unzipping, mathcad crashes? while the original worksheet works properly...Can I do something to retrieve it functioning?ThanksFM

Hi there,I have rather simple request, I would like to show/hide dataFileds on Bargraph based on button or list or radiobutton (does not really matter).This is a basic functionality at almost every JS Graph library. I cannot replicate this behavior though.There is no bindable DataFieldxVisible boolean which I could use.I could assign the Name to the dataFieldx directly, but I dont know what is its data type.Any suggestions??Thanks

Hi All, I have a question about the curve plot. Attached is an example I want to ask. Can we have the control of the curve in the plot, by only letting it show in a specific range? We can do it in the math function, by including some conditional setup. But if we do not do the conditional setup, can we still place the limitation in the curve plot?

Obviously something changed and I am diligently researching/investigating however.....Users are getting an error when trying to make an update:Could not save modified item 2051: JavaScript Error: javax.mail.internet.AddressException: Illegal whitespace in add in string ' 'PTC Integrity"Worked this morning and now does not. There may have been some minor trigger changes but my initial investigation revealed nothing there and we do not have more than 40 working triggers. I am unaware of any other changes. Anyone experience this? Possible solutions or thoughts? Guidance?We are stuck until it is resolved.

I don't think there is a preference but wanted to check with everyone.  Is there a preference that allows me to change what the default option is when trying to delete something?  I would like it to be Delete latest iterations of each object included in the table.

Hi All,IBA's for WTPart are stored in tables like StringDefinition, BooleanDefinition etc.Then how do we relate these IBA's with WTPart table ?Can you please let me know ? Like if I have a demo as an IBA for WTPart and if I run a sql query like select * from stringdefinition I guess I can see that IBA name in that table.Now for that IBA name which particular column in that table is related to WTPart table ?so keeping stringdefinition table for IBA's and WTPart table beside which columns are related ?Best Regards,Aditya Achanta

I am writing code in order to customize my widget and, on a simple guide I'm reading, I can see there are some TW functions like TW.Runtime.Widgets but also I know TW.getStyleFromStyleDefinition or TW.purgeJqElement, TW.log.error.Is there anywhere a list of all functions I can get from TW?

I'm currently working with Creo Parametric 2.0 M200.  In the past I know I was able to show a pattern dimension from a merged part on the drawing but I can't seem to remember how to do it. I use CurveExpert (version 2.4.0) for getting an initial idea on what is the best fitting model for a data set. However, when I want to use then the proposed equation in Mathcad I do not get optimal results. In the rational fit I am completely out of range while in the sinusoidal fit my R² is lower. I assume that I am not familiar enough with all fitting possibilities within Mathcad 15. So I would appreciate any help as I would like to improve my skills or to understand why the results in Mathcad are inferior to those of CurveExpert. I have added 2 worksheets to demonstrate the issue.

Is there a way to pragmatically detect the parameters of a remote thing?We allow the users to create/configure things using a database.  Parameters can be added or removed by users during the initial development.I saw a post on how to create and add remote bindings using the scripting.  However, I would like to know how to create the bindings if I don't know the names of the all the properties.

First off, forgive me, I am new at the simulate side of things.I am attempting to do the middle man admin of the software setup and I am looking for some insight.I need to do an accelerated knowledge gain as we do not have the time it took me to figure out a CP setup.I set up CP2 and now taking on the task to set up simulate.Background: basic CP2 set up:CP2 M180 on Windchill 10.0I have a common directory for all the "text" directory items (holes, material, notes...), master config.pro, etc.The user start up runs a bat file that sets up their local working directory, updates/resets master files to local start-up directory, offers license use (AAX, Cable...).Question (first of a few):Can simulate follow the same setup?  Should it?The associate that runs the software has an OOTB set up.  Been that way for a while.The amount of files the program generates to me is daunting, so looking to manage them.Question:Can simulate work with Windchill?If so, what files need to be uploaded o
