I would like to create a field that returns a concatenated value. In this, I want part of it to be a parameter (i.e. {{parameter name}}). When I try to do this, the parameter never converts over from the parameter string to the actual value. Is it possible to do something like this? Or can calculated values not include parameters?

this should be an easy one for all you guys out there.How do I make these dimensions larger?

Hello, everyone!   I am also trying to connect PTC Creo 3 with Vrisual Basic. Could somebody help me to solve my problem? PTC Creo 3 is already in my computer, but I can't find VB API. This one must be choosen during the installation as Wildfire 4.0? But during the installation I haven't found such options. Wew are trying to create a new document in WIndchill. We navigate to the Windchill folder we wanr, then select New Document. The type menu comes up, select and Next. In this view, we select Browse to get the file from disk we want to add. We get to the network drive and the system will not let some users naviagte through the folders to the file. We try to navigate outside PDMLink to be sure it isn't a folder permission issue and we can get to the file. The 2 sysadmins can browse to the file on their machines. I login in as the user having problems on my machine and no problems. We have not chnaged any settings and IT hasn't done any patch rollouts to the OS. All machines were reboot with the same results. We then checked Java versions, the syadmins are on 1.7.0_05 32-bit and 1.7.0_06 64-bit and the user with the issues is on a version of 1.6.0_12 64-bit. All systems are runing Windows 7-64bit.We can get IT to update to only those levels of 1.7 and nothing newer as they haven't approved

Hi,I am studying a power converter, who is a combination of well know topologies, but that uses fuzzy logic for its control. The consequence of the combination of toppologies + fuzzy logic causes the input to output voltage ratio to be not trival, and defined differently depending on the operating point. Here is a sheet with a simplified expression of my input to output voltage ratio ( z(d) ) (it is more complicated than that in the application, as the transition between x(d) and y(d) is more ... fuzzy). To simplify the problem, I can make the function continuous, derivable and bijective (athough it will probably not be the case in the final application).Having defined the input to output voltage ratio, I want to analyse the stress on my components in certain use cases, meaning for a few (input voltage, output voltage) combination. Hello, I have created a WTPart using Java code + Windchill API's. There are setter methods available for setting some attribute like Name, Number, Type, Source etc. Is there any method / API to set the Version and Iteration of the created part through code ? Can I set the values of Version and Iteration to be say, C and 5 directly ? Or creating a default Part of A.1 and revising / checking out is the only option ? It would be really helpful if someone could help me with Windchill API's / Code snippets to set Part Version / Iteration OR Revise / Check out a part till the desired Version / Iteration is reached.

Trying to delect a part and gettina an error thatCAD Part - 24_tooth_cluster_gear.prt, A.1 could not be deleted/purged. There are objects associated to it through EPMBuildHistory link.Not sure where these assoications came from, what they are or why they're only on one part, but I'd like to get rid of them so I can delete the part and reuse the name.Thanks,Walter

Hi all,I am needing to output calculated variables from my mathcad calculation sheet, into either a .txt or a .exp file. I have first tried using a matrix to do this, but the formatting is not exactly what I am needing.I have attached my mathcad approach, and the resulting format. The problem with the format shown is the space between the =, and the value of the variable.The reason I am needing to do this is so that I can output calculated variables into a file that will be read by siemens NX. Perhaps anyone knows of a script that has already been built that can do this? I found an example built by Mike Armstrong from a few years ago, but I could not get it to work with MathCad 15. It probably did not help that I have no experience writing scripts in MathCad.Thanks guys.-jw

Hi,We've been learning Creo this year and were able to design most of our first FTC robot before building it (hooray!) So, sorry for the newbie questions.After getting a lot of the basics down, we are redoing our CAD so we tweak our design using what we've learned. So we have a few sub-assemblies built that we are going to use to make the final assembly easier and quicker to put together. The problem is that we are trying to "save a mirror assembly" for a rack-and-pinion lift and we end up with a scrambled assembly with a bunch of warnings. Is there a mechanism in Windchill (10.0 m040) to delete older log files from the system?In Windchill 9 & 9.1, all log files were kept in the <WC_loadpoint>/logs folder and manually moved to a archive subfolder by month. In Windchill 10, we kept the same practice but now the log files are being deleted after 2 weeks. Is there a new setting I missed or is something else dleteing the older files?Windows 2008r2-64bit OS.

Does anyone know if there is a quick way to enter the current date in a text field on a drawing? Something like CTRL+; as in Excel would be ideal, we often have to enter the current date multiple times on a drawing so I'm just after a way to save a bit of time. Hello all,   I would like to display an Excel sheet on a Creo drawing. I used the technic explained on this forum, ie Object>Create from file>Select my file>click Ok. But unfortunately it only displays a sort of texte box with the excel filename (image below). If I double click on it, it opens the excel file. Hello,I take a simple example:A beam on two supports with a distributed load in the center of half the length of the beam.When doing the simulation, the beam is bent as if the load had followed the shape of the curve at its deformation.But it is not logical since the mass on the beam is rigid.
