Hello community,  I'm using kepware with Datalogger connecting to a SQL Server.When Kepware runs the data logger, the following error occurs. Log group  ~ Unalbe to connect to data source 'Kepware_DB_TEST'. Reason : SQL server does not exist or access denied. Connection Open(Connect()). Kepware and the database are on the same IP subnet, and SQL Server Express is being used. I requested the company to open SQL port 1433, but they said it's meaningless because they are on the same subnet with only the last octet different. I'm not sure what I should be checking. When I performed a telnet test from the Kepware server to the database server on port 1433, I received the error message: 'Could not open connection to the host, on port 1433: Connect failed.' Any suggestions or things I should check would be greatly appreciated. 

Hello,   I'm calling, from my computer, the Configuration API of a remote KEPServerEx instance (version 6.16, running in a host). My .opf file is stored in the local computer.   I wonder if there is a way to use load this file in the KEPServer instance. I feel like the file needs to be stored locally on the server when using the /config/v1/project/services/ProjectLoad endpoint.   Thank you

Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: Attempting to use Save to Workspace in SolidWorks 2022 SP5. The open assembly has a subassembly which has virtual parts in it. When Saving to Workspace, the virtual parts are loaded into the Workspace as new CAD Document objects. It seems like the Site Preference "Manage virtual components" is set to Yes, however I have verified many times that it is actually set to No. Is there something else going on?Description: I'm having an issue in SolidWorks 2022 SP5 where Save to Workspace loads virtual parts into the Workspace as new objects. I have an ascii text data file that has 3000+ lines of information. I am attempting to extract some values from the first "column" of a group of lines near the end of the file. The lines are bracketed by known labels. I have attempted to do this using the READFILE command in the following approach: FileDat := READFILE("path to file", "delimited", 1, [1,1])startline:= match("Data Starts Here", FileDat) + 1endline:= match("Data Ends Here", FileDat) -1data:= READFILE("path to file", "delimited", [startline, endline],[1,1],1) I have two questions:1) Is there a way to match the full expression, including spaces, in the data file? Right now, it is not matching the "Data Starts Here" - it is only getting the first word "Data". I try to understand, why, in Creo 9.0, the the sketching, the Project have been changing. The new way to select the line to project is longer to work with it.  In the past, we chose Sketch Complete loop, and we chose each line one after the other.  Now, we have to chose one line, chose chain, then chose the Rule-Based, then the rule we want, ok, and to finish to tell the command that we want to create the geometry...  A work that will normally have taken maybe 30 minutes to extrude in solid a dxf file send by my client, will surely take a few hours.

I am using an include statement to include calculations and values from a reference sheet in my main Mathcad document. Is there a way to get access to variables defined in the parent document in the reference document? For example, if I define a variable called "mass" in the parent document, and then I have an expression in the referenced document that multiplies mass by 2, as in: double_mass := mass * 2, will that work?  Right now, I am only able to use variables in the reference sheet that have been defined in that sheet. I do note that functions and variables defined in the reference sheet are available in the parent sheet following the include statement, as expected.

Hello,I am currently in the process of converting SNMP data to Modbus TCP for a power monitoring server using Kepware. Since there are over 300 devices, each with 14 registers, I wanted to distribute the output across 3 different IP addresses.For example: 192.168.22.124, 192.168.22.125, 192.168.22.126Initially, I assigned all addresses to a single virtual network card. Since I encountered issues with this setup, I created additional virtual network cards to assign each address to a separate network adapter. Unfortunately, this did not change the following behavior.The Kepware server and the monitoring client are running on the same virtual machine. The translation from SNMP to Modbus TCP works so far, but I have the problem that the values of the same IDs from different IPs overwrite each other.In Kepware, I can see that, for example, 192.168.22.124/502/45 sometimes takes values from 192.168.22.125/502/45 or 192.168.22.126/502/45.I can see values on 192.168.22.126/502/130, although onl

I'm working in an assembly in Creo 7.0.2.0, and I am trying to determine the interference between two objects. I want to determine the distance between the two furthest points of each object to determine how much they are interfering with each other. I found the "Pairs Clearance" feature that lets you select two objects, and it will show you the clearance between the two closest points of each object. I was wondering if there was a feature that did the same thing for interference parts, so I can determine the extent of how far the two parts are interfering. I have tried the "Global Interference", but it just outputs a volume and not a distance. Does anyone have any more experience with this? I am somewhat new to the "Analysis" tab and have only used it for measurements and mass properties.

Hi All, we have problem with ThingWorx solutions.     every once in a while sending data between TWX and MS SQL database slows down to such an extent that it is difficult for us to display production data. We checked it on the server side during the failure, the TWX server and databases work without excessive loads. The same query from MS Management Studio works lightning fast. From the TWX level we only call Stored procedures that are in our database (separate from the TWX database) I would like to ask how TWX performs queries to databases? Sometimes I have the impression that it asks for too much data in relation to what we want. The problem occurs for devices that have data from the last 6 years.Thank you, Jan

Hi,  in Windchill, we have several workspaces. Each workspace has some sub folders.  In the table view, if I want to search "*.drw". I can only see drawings inside my current folder. But nothing from the sub folders.  Did we setup something wrong?  Thanks

As per the original post.    Wonderware, InTouch, AVEVA (all the same thing) have a do not have a good OPC implementation (UA or DA).  Only the loopback IP address (127.0.0.0) can be used by AVEVA to address the server.  Thus, ANY server software must be on the same machine as AVEVA.  This is not the way OPC was meant to work.  I have been experimenting with have a copy of Kepserver on the server hardware (Kepserver/server) and additional copies on each workstation (Kepserver/AVEVA/worikstation).  The objective is to use the Kepserver/server to communicate with multiple PLCs to collect data via Modbus and then share the data with Kepserver/AVEVA/workstations.  This is a lousy way to implement OPC, but I haven't found an HMI that works any better.  Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternate HMI?

Hello allI am working on a project that involves integration of thingworx for real time performance monitoring. This involves investing in new machines with PLCs that ease connectivity with kepware. However, another case involves legacy machines with no PLCs. Data is collected and logged in manually into SQL-based excel platform.We aim to eliminate the use of excel for visualisation and use just thingworx as a single analytics monitoring platform. How can we move data from legacy  SQL server to kepware by using data lake functionalities or power BI? Please if an architecture is possible, it will be more helpful.

I am not able to drag up the green line at the bottom of an assembly tree or part features. Nor am I able to drag independent features or parts up or down a tree. I can see the "hand" when I put the pointer on the line, when I left-click the mouse the hand closes, but if I want to drag it, a red stop sign (red circle with line across) appears.Anyone an idea why this is happening? I can use the "Insert Here" option, but dragging the line is much simpler.thank you!Norman
