Hello all,I stumbled across a peculiar problem when reading in CSV files. I'm using MC-15 on a 64 bit Win7 machine.The file in question (attached) is a CSV file with eleven columns of measurement data. The timeline is in the very first columns (see pic). READCSV refuses to read in a column that is given as column 0 (must be a positive integer). When giving a 1 as first column to read in it attaches the first column (my timeline) at the end of the array (see MC array Y). This behaviour is peculiar as I didn't find anything in the help section.Does anybody know whether:#1 Is there a work around so I can use a normal column definition (0 for first column etc.)?#2 If not possible. Is this MC behaviour reliable? Will the first (0) column always be attached at the end?#3 Did I miss something when giving the definitions for READCSV?Thanks in advance Raiko

I have collected data points for a system that can be modeled by a third order transfer function (G= 1/(ax^3+ bx^2+cx^1+d)), at resonance. I would like to try and curve fit the data so I can analyze the experimental with the model but I cant figure out how to do it. I have tried the pwrfit and genfit commands but without luck. The plot of experimental data is included.

Hi All, Hi All, I have 10 guys recruited for a class in AAX WF 5.0 at work for an in house class. I want to save some money and use are own laptops for the class.I want to use 3HTI for training. I need to know if AAX is standard and built in to the package or if you need to buy this as an add on. We have a Flex3C licence for 5 seats that have all the advanced modules but not enough to around.TIA

I'm not a mathematician, but I think it is wrong to Mathcad Prime apply a hint of the new Combined matrix operator "norm of a vector or matrix"The right is: "Length of the vector or the determinant of a square matrix."I see a lot discrepancies or apparent errors in the tooltips Mathcad Prime. I showed them to mathematicians. They say it's not just a mistake - it is so named "engineering understanding" of mathematics. Nine out of ten engineers say that the vector length is the number of elements in it. And not just because Mathcad is a function of length (v), returns not the vector length but a number of elements (components?) in vector, but because for the majority of working with Mathcad think that the vector is not a vector in the mathematical interpretation (not scalar), but simply a table column.What do you think about this?

....in Intralink it was a snap, yet in W/C it seems a total pain if not impossible. There was a graph feature in Intralink that was awesome, gone in W/C.so, any ideas?

I am working through a simplified Pipe Stress calculation and having an issue with the Maximize function. I have tried to use the Maximize function to calculate the allowable free span of the pipeline, without success.I am looking at the stresses in two pipelines and therefore require two results from the function. I have set up a Given/Find solve block without any issues. Can anybody explain if that a limitation of the Minimize function?CheersMike

I've reduced an engineering problem down to it's basic form. In this case, I have a repeated series of equations. If there's 10 things being evaluated (the number of "things" is the variable num), then there's 10 equations and 10 unknowns. Each equation has the same form and the solution of the next one is the result of the previous answer (as well as a few other parameters which are mixed in there...these are all assumed constant for this simplified version of what I was trying to do).So basically, I've been working for a couple hours and reading a few resources and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I tried both recursive and iterative formulations and failed on both. The thing that stumps me is that if this was MATLAB, I would just so something like a for loop where X(i) = aouter(i-1) + ainner(i-1) +X(i-1) and just loop through the i values.So my troubles might boil down to a few different problems. Hi,I'm working on a project where there is a lot of isodraw drawings to be translated from english to different foreign languages.The customer is using the Trados SDL translation memory and I was wondering if there was some experience in doing that ?More precise questions are :- does SDL accept the iso draw format ?- as an alternative, does someone have experience in exporting text from drawing, translating it and reimporting ? Is it standard features ? Hello all,I am relatively new to Mathcad 14. The problem I am having is with List Boxes.In the attached document, you can see two list boxes. The second reads the output from the first and displays a different result based on what is read in from the first list box. The problem is that the outputs in list box 2 accumulate, as opposed to being replaced. I have tried solving this problem using the ResetContent function, but then I was unable to make the selection (it would not stay highlighted). I would greatly appreciate any help,Carl

Does anyone know what this feature is for? I had someone stumble across it by mistake. She defined a "variable" to be one "M/ϕ" and the display actually showed M directly over the ϕ. The whole thing shows up inside of square brackets. She proceeded to assign a value to this expression, and it can be used later on as if it were a variable (as long as the square brackets are also used). Is this the intent of the feature?Preston

In mathcad 15, there is a bug where MathCAD doesn't draw all the lines when they share a point eventhough they are seperated by NaN.I have attached an example of what happens. I also tried the same thing in prime 1 and it seems to be fixed. Is there any work around for this in mathcad 15, Prime doesn't have the futures I want.

PTC is telling me there's no way to export the preference setting on a system.Is there a way to print them out? Hi,This question is regarding iteration with two simultaneous criteria.I've been able to solve this with relatively simple manner (in the beginning of file), but I believe that this problem could be solved also with "while" operator (tries at the end of file), which could be then modified to solve a more complex problems.Thank you for your help.

Am a casual MCad user on V 2001.In attachement, tried to apply a solver function to an array but it doesnt't take it. Is there a way to set up the function so it can process an array or is a program the only work around (beside an upgrade....)?Please ignore the fact that the case shown in the sheet could easily be handled w/o the solver. This is just to test the structure for a case w/o analytical solution.Thank you.

I'm trying to reproduce a result over a range of values for specific volume. I was able to run through the equation and I got a result as expected on page 1 with a defined specific volume. I then tried to reproduce and graph the results if I varried the specific volume over a given range (page 2), but ran into a issue. I know the integral is producing the error, but don't know how to properly set up the integral in MathCad over a range. Any help on setting up the problem differently or how to work around this issue would be appreciate. ThanksTyler

Why would "Add to Project" be greyed out for a user in a Libray? The user is member of both the library and project but the "Add to Project" from the Actions menu is greyed out?
