Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: I have a requirement to provide information to users which provide details of when common attributes were modified. For example, if the number of a part with significant development history needed to be changed, how can I provide visibility of the details of the change to the user in the GUI? For example, when the change was made, who made the change, what the number was changed to, what it was before etc...Description: Without this ability, users are not able to obtain full traceability of how a part has developed which is required for legislative compliance. 

Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: I need to traverse the folder structure in a Windchill Library via the REST API'sDescription: I see there are a few relevant API's. "/v6/DataAdmin/Containers('"+containerId+"')/Folders" provides us with a way to get the root folder, which I believe is pretty much always "/Default", but how do I get the list of folders in that folder, to recursively traverse the folder structure?I see there is "/v6/DataAdmin/Containers('"+containerId+"')/Folders('"+folderId+"')" but that only gives me the information about the folder I already have the ID for and does not tell me what subfolders exist in that folder.

Hi everyoneBasically I'm trying to log data into an SQL server, I get the correct tag value and tag name, but with the time I'm not able to see it correctly in SQL In SQL I have the column Time as data type: timestampand the data that logs is in hexadecimal, so is not what I wantI've actually use data type datetime2 as well in sql but then I get an error in Kepware (Error Data Logger Plug-in Unable to query recordset on Log Group 'loggroup'. Reason: Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string)You can see it in the snapshots    does anyone know how can I actually submit the time in the SQL server? or like what datatype should be in Kepware and SQL? please help 

Hi, Then I overwritten values for t1 and t2 and test variable result was updated with the new values of t1 and t2: Then I disabled t1 and t2, but the test variable remained unchanged. Why t1 and t2 did not took value 2 and update the test variable result with 4?

Hi Folks, I have a requirement to download the files of Windchill objects into Thingworx repository. I am getting the Link of files inside Thingworx using Odata Connectors. Hello All:  I have encountered some strange behavior with the new "vec()" function in Mathcad Prime 11.  An example of this is shown in the screen capture below.   In trying to plot a complex function (the volume of a sideways cylindrical tank), the old way with a "range" for the h in this example gives the correct results (determined independently of Mathcad). However, the h created by the vec() function yields very different results in this instance.  I tried other simpler formulas [e.g, sqrt(2*R*h-h2)] and the results were satisfactory and both results matched.  But as I started fleshing out the equation with more terms, the behavior diverged as per the example below.   The other terms, when isolated, produce satisfactory results.  Only the term shown below in V2(h) presents strange behavior.  More still, expressing V2(h) differently (e.g., algebraically rewriting the expression will create still different but, likewise, still w

I am a college student and I have been using MathCad for quite a while. My old license expired in October, and I am now in a class that requires MathCad 11, so I just purchased a student license for it. I have MathCad 10 on my computer, but not 11. When I went to download the image to get 11, it told me there were no products entitled to software updates. I do not want to activate the license on 10 because I need it to be compatible with 11. How to I download 11 onto my computer so I can activate the license?

I like the new (well, it's been a few years now) tools for Project and Offset. They're harder to teach, but they're more robust. But today I tried to use a seldom used command: Convert to Tapered. It used to be you can select an Offset geometry in the Sketcher and hit Operations->Convert to->Tapered, and then have the offset vary from one end to the other. Nice little trick. Well, it seems it doesn't work anymore? I tried getting it to work, but it's always greyed out. I searched through the documentation, and found this little note:  When you use the new tools for offsetting or projecting an edge the following functionality is not supported.• Projecting an axis.• Projecting or offsetting in the Blend tool.• Creating a Pattern of the type Curve.• Converting the new offset geometry to Tapered. Hm, I guess we got some new limitations with the new tools. I am using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.7.0just migrated from windows 10 to windows 11. We manage all mapkeys in config.proworked fine with creo 10 + windows 10most mapkeys are two letters. For exemple "RR" for right view. etc.All mapkeys do not work properly since windows 11 migration. First letter is recorded by creo 2nd letters is lost, we have to hit second letter again to make shortcut work Hence needs 3 hits for one mapkey...Most of our daily tasks are performed with mapkeys.We are over 20users trained with these mapkeys. We cannot change them. Please let us know what issue is and how to fix it

Hi! I use merged balloon symbols for multiple component. If this merged balloon symbol is moved the leader always move to the middle and works inconsistently.:(view in My Videos)Is there a config key settings to disable this behavior? However, the basis for selecting which reusable attribute should be linked to the attributes of the object has been solely down to the data type of the reusable attribute and if it aligns with the data type of the attribute I want to associate with my object type.Description: Is this bad practice and should I have more control of my understanding of where I have used my reusable attributes? For example, I could have three reusable attributes called "Material", "Manufacturing Process" and "Product Type" which are linked to the global attributes called "Material", "Manufacturing Process" and "Product Type" in an object type called "Object A". These reusable attributes could be contained in an attribute organizer folder called "Object A Attributes" to make it clear where they are used and to which attributes they are associated to. We have started to explore the Framework add in with creo.  We noticed that the 8020 library is missing a LOT of sizes and components.  Is this actively updated?  Is it our responsibility to add in the additional sizes and components to meet our needs beyond the basics that is available? Thanks

Based on my experience in the majority of large companies there is a huge need to connect different tools from different vendors. The discussion I would like to launch in this context is: can ThingWorx be used as the tool "integrator" between PTC and 3rd parties tools? Example of a use case: collector \ integrator between Windchill and a 3rd party tools (ALM -requirements management system > keep the link across  artifacts from different tools platforms and keep traceability (changes impacts \ alerts)

Hi Community, we are currently thinking about adding some more t-slotted profiles to the advanced framework extension and are wondering what you are using in you designs.  Currently we offer the following manufacturers: Bosch Item Kanya Maytec Minitec Rose+Krieger Frameworld INCH 8020 INCH Controlled Dynamics Do you miss anything in this list and also if you are using the mentioned libraries already are there profiles missing that you would like to have in a future release?   Any feedback is welcome.   Greetings Sam  

I've gone done a serious rabbit hole but failing to see my error. I am assuming it must be me. I have two instances and both experience same behavior. I can start and stop SOLR normally as my non-root user.  But when I configure my solr.service (which is identical to my previous installs), it fails to see that solr is running, exits and stops the process. I can verify that SOLR does indeed start but the part of the solr script  (called from Index_Search_Server.sh) where it checks that SOLR is running, I think is not detecting it. It times out after 180 seconds and stops.  Here is what I observed: Confirmed that SOLR starts from java process, PID file and logs. Noticed "lsof -v" running while it was waiting for SOLR to start and consuming high CPU. Disappears when it bails after the time out.  I identified the part of the solr script where it tries to verify SOLR is running. (rabbit hole). I can see that it checks the lsof version (where I see "lsof -v", and then ru

I just installed V7 Data Logger and would like to be able to import 4,000+ log items.  The connectivity suite has export/import capabilities. I don't see it for Data Logger.  Is there a way to manipulate the log items via JSON, REST api, or other method?

Hello All, Has the Math software Wolfram become a competitor to Prime in terms of Engineering value? In Prime going back 10 years or so, I used simple loops to get my calculations done.Which these loops are basic to Mathcad and Prime.I have not known Prime for a programming language rater symbolic programming for loops etc.I have come across Wolfram very often when I need something to calculate on the spot using the internet. Thru that I have recently learnt that it is quite impressive.You can set a grid worksheet and have its color light green too like Prime/Mathcad sheets.So, for me that is some cause of an attraction or pull to Wolfram.Especially considering the price.And it is loaded with a full programming language. Tell me am I missing the serious engineer deep thoughts on this?Your comments are appreciated.  Kind Regards,Karl Bogha.

Hi, I am adding a new Mitsubishi Ethernet iQ-R series PLC to an existing FTView SE SCADA which is using Kepware for comms.  The issue is the addresses I need to add to the new Kepware config have not been mapped into contiguous blocks and are widely spread about.  Will this be a problem if I create static tags in Kepware with such scattered addresses ? When I began working on SCADA systems in the 90's I was always told that any data that was to be read or written to by SCADA should be mapped into contiguous blocks, otherwise you would end up getting multiple read transactions which would affect comms performance.  Is this still valid today with fast Ethernet and multi core CPU's ?
