Question for all Freestyle gurus here and PTC folks. In Creo 5, in Freestyle, there is a commad called Levels within the Freestyle workspace in the default installation. Levels (for this that don't know) allows you to step up and down the surface detail - note up and down. It is similar to subdivide but subdivide is a one way street - you increase subdivisions not decrease. Levels is fantastic for adding very localised detail if a part needs tweaking to accomodate a changed internal part for example to create a localised bulge or feature.   In Creo 6, Levels seems to have disappeared? Is this the case? If so why, as it was a genuinely useful feature! If it is still there then where is it?

Using WF4, here.   I have been asked to create a model of a cable, wound in a series of layers onto a spool, like a winch cable onto a drum. The smart money says 'Don't do it', because it will take an age to regenerate. I know that. However, I want to know how to do it anyway. I'm curious like that.   I first made a series of curves based on equations like the one shown below: For each layer, I reversed the z direction, incremented the r value and started theta with an offset so I could fake the join between layers using a curve between points, tangent at each end to the spiral curves.     Once I had a series of coiled layers and joins between them, I tried to Copy, Paste, Approximate, the curves to make the whole ugly mess into a single composite curve. No! Can't do that. No idea why not, but Pro/E insists they should all remain separate curves.   So, then I made a series of separate VSS features, one for each layer and one for each joining piece. That worked

I am using the progress gauge extension on Thingworx and right now it can only take in one value. I have studied the javascript code of the progress gauge and I have roughly understood it. However, I am still unsure on how to start in terms of writing code in progressgauge.ide.js and progressgauge.runtime.js so that the gauge can take in multiple values and show multiple colors based on those values. I have attached the javascript codes for reference as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated! An example of what I want at the end is shown below.

I am using ThingworxH2Trial 8.4.0 and having this error, any suggestions on how to solve it? This error only occurred today and localhost has been running smoothly for the past weeks. Attached are the ApplicationLog and SecurityLog which may be of help.

Hello, team!   This question may sound stupid but is it possible for me to use (in Vuforia Studio) multiple model targets to recognize different angles from an unique model? I wasn't able to use the MTG (Model Target Generator) to do so!   For example: I have an experience that assists the user to fix a pump. The experience will be started by recognizing the model from its right side, but the second step needs to be done in the front side of the pump; the third step from the left side, etc - therefore, I need the user to recognize each side before proceeding with the steps.   Is it necessary for me to do separate experiences? Is there a way to make the model recognizable from multiple viewing angles within the same experience?   Thanks!

Hi there, We recently upgraded to TW 8.4.3 besides that we have had a "hell of time" and not funny way. I have stumbled upon something that bugs me.  I was use to when service with defined output as string failed an error message from exception appeared in result window.  No there is this weird message "Must have a datashape defined to add rows." I handle most of my services with try-catch, but not always printing the error part in logs.  This is very difficult to debug.  What is with that, is this by design? Can it be solved?    

Hello, I'm working on an anomaly alert and I'm just trying to understand it. I've created a Timer Thing with a number property called "value" and I've set an anomaly alert on this property. This property changes due a subscription whose code is quite simple: me.value += Math.random() * 3 - 1.5; So I've got my value changing every second.   My anomaly alert status went from Initializing, to Calibrating and then to Monitoring. It is stuck now. I don't get how does it switches from Monitoring to Training. Thanks    

Hi everyone! I'm traing to change the line's thinckness of the border of a local section in  Creo drawing (I need to respect ISO format). I've read that there is a parameter to change in the iso.dtl file.   Can you tell me which  condition i've  to modify? Another question: after I've change this parameter have I to remake the file as a new file or there  is a way to regenerate the drawing with the changes? Please help me!    I attach a photo of the tear line as an example, even if it is not a section      

Hi,   When I insert an aluminium-profil (any Bosch-Profile for example) the profile isn't displayed very detailed:     The reason is, that a lot of KEs are suppressed: When I activate them, the profile looks very nice:           Now lets assume that I have an assembly with 100 profiles. Is it possible to activate all suppressed features of all profiles (all at once) ? And is it possible to suppress all of them again to get better performance ?   Thanks, Maik

Hello,I have a local server since 2 two months and today it stopped working.My tomcat is not able to start again the server. Hi, I think that the time has come to try some of that Analytics stuff.  Few years back the situation was quite unclear. Can someone explain what is the difference between Thingworx Analytics server and Platform Analytics server.  Or somebody willing to point me into the right direction in regards to How to start with Analytics?  Some slides would be nice to get my head around this area.  Thanks

Hi All,   I want to update the limits of an alert by triggering a service. How can I achieve that? From Thingworx Support, I got the following code which I have pasted below. I tried running that but it doesnot work. For example: I have a property "Suction" with basetype as "INTEGER". I have already created an alert for that named "AboveLimit" which will be fired when Suction is above limit 5. Now I want to change the limit through a service. I am working through this tutorial (from this site), using Mathcad Prime 3.0, F000 The thing that is driving me absolutely crazy is tha tI can't get it to solve symbolically, like the tutorial says it should. I am trying to do this problem:However, when I insert the symbolic operator, this is what happens:Why am I getting a numeric solution instead of a symbolic one? Hallo guys,   i have a question regarding finding a maximum value out of a matrix.   I have an overlap , maximum transmissible force, NOKOK Matrix   i now need to find the overlap for the maximum transmissible force under the condition "OK"   The values in the matrix are only valid for "OK"   For the given example the correct overlap is 0,127 mm with 649,736 kN   Can anyone help me out how to determine this problem?   I have Mathcad 15   Thank you Br Stefan

Hi, We have had a major problems with upgrading ThingWorx version from version 7.3.8 to version of 8.4.3. We tried the whole procedure on our TEST environment and had some problems.  What we have done: Setting "run as user" for all Timers and Shedulers Performing all update scripts one by one (as per Upgrading to ThingWorx 8.4 document) All scripts went fine (no errors) Modified platformsettings.json Deploying new war While starting Tomcat an error occurred (ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "root_entity_collection_pkey") (https://community.ptc.com/t5/ThingWorx-Developers/Upgrade-to-Thingworx-8-0-Errors/m-p/510085) I had to perform following sqls: delete from root_entity_collection where name = 'NotificationDefinitions'; delete from root_entity_collection where name = 'NotificationContents'; delete from root_entity_collection where name = 'StyleThemes'; Note: I dont like that I have to modify underlying DB by hand, Upgrade scripts should handle this

Hello; I'm new into Creo. I have created an assembly structure and some parts with geometry reference(project) from other parts. In Reference viewer it shows the root assembly as a children for the parts which have reference, Why? see attached image/ Can I set the creo options to not to have this logic?   Thanks. BR.

Hi,   I need to run an analysis for a bicycle crank arm. The model provided is only the crank arm and it doesnt include the pedal platform where the pedal load is being applied by the rider. is there is an option of setting the pedal load as a remote force applied on the hole surface (where the pedal shaft connects)?   Your help will be highly appreciated ‌

I need to hide username and password when inspect using browser. I tried form login but there also it is not working. When F12 is pressed, in background it shows the username and password once we logged in. I need to hide that information due to security reasons.
