I am trying to move my WF3 installation to a new computer running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I have got it up and running but the setup ignores my specified start-up directory and insists on launching Proe under C:\Users\<user name>\documents\. I have found a way to run the ptcsetup.bat file in the bin directory by forcing the file to set the machine type to i486_nt but I have not found out how to force the start-up directory to what I want. Can anybody advice me a way to solve this? I have a similar problem lurking - installing Intralink 3.4. The same issue here, up and running but will not accept my chosen start-up directory and launching again in the C:\Users ... etc as above. HELP!

I have a model of machine which is huge in size. I have to move around the machine a lot so what i want is when i say 'show shopping cart', a 3D-image should appear in front of me irrespective of my location. I wanted to know ho this is possible?

Community,   Does anyone know how to make a chain lanyard using the Sweep tool.  The type of chain lanyard I want to model is the type you see to retain electrical caps after you unscrew the cap from a port.  This way the cap is not lost.  The chain would be similar to the old "dog-tag" chain issued my the armed forces.  Thanks in advance.     Chain Lanyard

Hello,   Completely new to all of this and am trying to put together a use case for sharing computational fluid dynamic data in an AR sense.   I have a number of slices from our CFD package saved as .png images.  I can bring these into studio and "walk" round them on a mobile device overlaying a model but I would like them bound to a 2D slider widget so that when I slide the slider forwards and backwards they turn on an off.  In effect I would be sectioning the CFD data up and down a model with a slider.   If you can see the attached image you can see 4 slices correctly positioned.  When the experience loads up the first will be on and the other three not visible.  As the slider is moved to the right the first will not be visible and the next will turn on and so on allowing you to section forwards and backwards.   Many thanks for anyones help on this (or a better way of doing it!)   Thanks, Sy

Hello, As i said in the subject, my CREO Parametric 3.0 version crashes when assembling with a pin as a joint. Like if i try to transform a link between two assembled parts into a pin, a particular message pops (you can see it on the picture below). As soon as i click on OK or on the cross of this message, my CREO document instantly disappears. I tried to reinstall CREO to see if i deleted an useful document but nothing changed. Coud you help me ? What can i do ? Hoping someone will be able to save me, have a good day. NTA 

Hi all,    I have already explained the issue a bit this article, but it wasn't really a big problem then and it wasn't clear what the actual problem was or when it ocurred. What has changed, is that the problem is really getting bigger, and we have made some conclusions.    Behavior now is the following:  Suddenly, all actions considering a creation or update of a WorkDefinition are impossible (when this is triggered is really a big mystery). All workdefinition services are timing out at this point. After a while (2-5 min), we get an applicationlog full of Execution errors in service script. After this happened, all the workdefinition services work again without any issues. This happens once every 20 minutes or so. This is making our system very unstable, it is critical that this is fixed, since our environment is a production critical system at our customer.    The error looks like this: Execution error in service script [GetWorkDefinition

Hi everyone, i would really appreciate if u could help me with this problem i have: I'm trying to write the units in the output for an excel component, the thing is that when I do that, it doesn't show when i write the variable. I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong. I watched a video where someone did the same and the units where there. I'm not able to do it anyway.  

I am considering what's the possible ways to improve Thingworx foundation platform performance. Maybe larger memory, some specific setting to Tomcat? Can anyone help get some ideas on this?

hi  i m using label chart for my report , where i need 2 bars for single timestamp. so i m using timestamp on x axis and on y chart i wanted to show number of passed and failed products . so in one bar it will show how many product got passed and in second bar it will show many product got failed on that day. i wanted to achieve this but i m not able to do this,. for me on x axis its showing timestamp or date but on y axix its showing NaN. data is properly coming in service. please suggest me what settings i ned to do in my chart setting or what mistake i m doing.

Hi,   I am using ParseJSON method for Parsley extension.  It gives me one row properly inserted into infotable if we run this method on simple json like:-   {                 "input1":"{\"name\":\"MichaelJordan\",\"age\":\"38\",\"address\":\"Noida\" }" }   But it fails to insert any row when we run this method on complex JSON:- {                 "input2":"{\"name\":\"TestUser123\",\"age\":\"54\",\"address\":\"{\"street\":\"main street\",\"city\":\"Ggn\",\"pin\":\"202021\"}\"}" } and gives blank row.   Could somebody help me how to insert this json into infotable as well?   Thanks in advance.

Is there a limit to how many annotations the participants can draw? Some uses report older marks disappear when new ones are added.

Hi, is there a way to blacklist a remote device from connecting to the server using the remote thing name/identifier. Currently we have some old remote devices out in the world using the same identifier to connect. If I create a server side thing for them to bind to I get lots of errors referring to multiple endpoints. If I delete the server side thing I get errors because of failed binding requests. Unfortunately we aren't able to physically find these remote things to upgrade the edge servers (or disconnect them). Really just looking for a way to stop the Application log collecting these errors.   Thanks in advance K  

I have three properties in my Thing and it is continuously updating for every second. I want to show these updated values in Time series chart every second. which service should I use? I used query property history but it takes lot of time to get the result since the data is updating every second.

Anyone know how to shorten a mashup's URL in ThingWorx? I already have a page that lives at 'www.myserver.com/Thingworx/Home', so I need another address that will read 'www.myserver.com/Thingworx/Home/MyPageName'.   I've found this article already re using a Google API to shorten a URL: https://support.ptc.com/help/thingworx_apps/r8.5/en/index.html#page/thingworx_apps/ThingWorxAppsSetupConfig/url_shortening_service.html.   However, the second step of this article seems to indicate the use of Manufacturing Apps, which I am not using. 

After conversion to Prime 6.0, my simple program equation is not working but it is still calculate in MathCAD 15. Dont see any problem with the equations.   Please help   David

Is there a way to display only the output of an equation? For example, if I define: ...... Is there a way to only display the 93.6% later in the document? Without having the variable, Mcw_C6_V, displayed? I would like to summarize my calculations at the bottom of the document but allow them to change automatically if I change calculations earlier on in the document.

Everytime I tried to import the files in studio it showed the message that file does not contain studio project. Any idea where can I get that demo project.

I imported the "paging widget" from the Thingworx Apps Extension bundle and it's showing up under the Manage>Installed Extensions in Composer but I can't find it in the widget list in the mashup designer.   Any help would be appreciated.   Thanks

Hello,   First of all apologies for all of the questions.  I am learning but a lot of the tutorials and other forum answers don't seem to answer the specific issues I seem to have!   I've created my first experience and I'd like to share it with my team as a proof of concept.  It is published and I can see it on my smartphone and all works well.  When I share a link to an email address the link first of all connects to the App store and then lets you download Vuforia View.  The app loads up after install but only on the default splash items and seems to have lost the link that launched it.   If the user goes back to the original email and clicks on the link again, they can now load the experience from the library but can't complete the load because it is asking for sign in credentials.  I presume it is not my credentials but rather they have to create an account but on this screen there is no obvious way of doing so.   I am keen for this fir

Hi,   I have a number of 3D images positioned about a model which all need to move linked to a single vertical slider along with the model.  Whilst all the model parts are positioned with the same co-ordinate datum and move correctly when using the bind method, the images are all positioned at different starting Y values and thus reset as soon as the slider is moved.   Having looked elsewhere on the board I have tried to rectify this by applying filters to each of the image bindings but when doing this the image does not move to begin with and then disappears at certain slider positions.  I presume my filter syntax is wrong so any help would be appreciated!   For reference the model parts are all positioned at Y=0.  The first 3D image is positioned at Y=0.9.  The slider setting is Min=0.  Max=2.  Step=0.2  Value=0   Thanks in advance!
