I just start to use Creo recently, and I've got an issue when I try to set the datum for detailing a GD@T drawing. Following are my questions, 1) What is the best way to define datum in drawing? I like to define datum with the toolbar in the drawing. It shall be quick in 2D. Someone say, it's better to build the datum first in 3D. I do not know why. 2) My current issue is On a drawing, I used to define datum, A, B, C. One plane, and two cylinder holes as datum feature. For some reason, I deleted mark of datum B and C from the drawing. Now I want to re-add datum B but it does not allow it saying " same datum name exist". I check the 3D, there is an axis I built with a name B, in the last position of the tree. But I can not delete it. I can press the delete button.  It just stay there.  And also, I went through the tree of drawing, I delete all the feature with name datum B. But still dose not work. My estimation is maybe creo remember the B and C datum in its memory because I

Hi there, Just installed Creo 3.0 (Academic) in Windows 10.Our course requires us to set-up Creo 3.0 in metric unit configuration. But when running the configure.bat and choosing option 7, I get error messages saying the files are not found???!???   Yet, you can clearly see from my attached picture that the files do exist.What do I need to do to solve this problem?(And, yes, I run it as administrator, so there is no problem with permissions). I wanted to create a report that shows the File Name of a document but it's not listed.  Is there a way to get that in a query builder report?Background:Some of our documents are not publishing.  I created a call with PTC to see if we can figure out why.  It turns out that the macro-enabled Office documents are not supported by Adobe LiveCycle.  DOCM, XLSM, PPTM.I wanted to find out how many of those types of documents we have in our system.  I did a keyword search but that returns other documents that are not those types.  However, even though they are not supported the majority of the DOCM files that came back in the search did get published.When we migrated our documents a few years ago the Number field matched the File Name and the file extension is included in the Number field.  But anything since then doesn't get the file extension added in the Number field.

Okay I am having a little issue with a small script I am trying to create.Here it is in a nutshell.  I need to flatten the current document, send it to a service and then open the original file again.  The first two are no problem. Internal Creo Software Versions don't line up (WF 5 = 28 but Creo 3 = 34).  Main place you will see the versions appear is in license files.Creo 1.0 = 32?Creo 2.0 = 33?According to my math, there are three version numbers that must have been skipped along the way.

Okay... so last time I was trying to work out how to get a repeat region to show the generic name of a family table instance rather than the instance name. I worked that out.Another problem I had was using a part parameter I call "ITEM" which returns an integer, which I then use to order the parts in a BOM table of an assembly drawing. I've been told I can't do this anymore. Specifically the problem is when you have multiple assemblies with some of the same parts. I wound up having one out of 5 different product assemblies that had to miss component number 3 because it wasn't in that particular assembly. The table went 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, etc. Doc Control said, "Not Best Practice".So, from this point on I will use "rpt.index" as the parameter numbering the  components in a BOM table.   We design and manufacture molds and die assemblies with lots of holes. We use an ordinate scheme to dimension these holes. unfortunately we have holes close to other holes and the leaders don't automatically adjust when they are close so we have to add jogs manually. If we change the hole location the leader needs to be adjusted again. Solid works does it and our seats of Cadkey 97 does it. this would save us gobs of time per year. Is there a way to put centerlines between holes in detail drawing views?  Coming for a Solid works background, you could sketch centerlines between holes in any drawing view.  You could constrain them to specific geometry in that view, such as the center point of a hole.  Is there a way to do this I Creo?This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. If i try to open utilities like "Policy Administration"`or "Team Administration", a new window opens but it remains blank. I have made all the possible settings that i could see on;ine to help me resolve this issue but nothing seems to be working. These are the set of settings that i have done1. In IE11, i have added the site as the "Trusted Site".2. In IE11, i have enabled options "Download signed ActuveX control" and "Download unsigned ActiveX control"3. Hi all,when you make a solid pipe, it has a different icon into the model tree: a green hollow pipe.If you change its trajectory and you regenarate the assembly also the solid pipe changes.But if you delete, accidentally, the solid pipe, you cannot re-import the part with the link with the "pipe-centerline".
