We are changing from Intralink to Creo 2.0 and windchill. i have a couple questions#1.  can i have the rev block show only the Rev, and not the version.  Rev 1.2.  i want my drawing to say just 1.#2, the part desctiption, we have a 2 line description,  in the Name field in Windchill, i have PLATE, MAG ACTUATORi want it to display on the drawing likeline 1 PLATEline 2 MAG ACTUATOR.in Intralink, we input parameters, but i think we can use the Name column in windchill to show in the title block.thanks for the help.This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I have a spreadsheet which calculates the reaction, deflection and slope of a HDPE pipeline as it is being flooded to the seabed for a given water depth. There is 7 no. simultaneous equations which have to be solved in order to obtain the results.My issue is that the solve block is very sensitive to the guess values, and I often find myself tweaking them until the solve block returns a solution which can be extremely tedious. - Changing Ra to 50 in this instance.So my question is, can this method be improved and could the equations be solved symbolically?Cheers,Mike

I have been using Odesolve successfully for a system of equations. But when I make (to me a seemingly innocuous) change, adding a term (that is zero in this case), I get the error "This value must be a function but has the form: any1". What I am doing wrong?

Is there a way to hard code Parameter Units to get ignored when switching units systems? I have a couple Parameters driven from Relations (e.g. WT_LB, MASS_KG, VOLUME_IN, and VOLUME_CM) and I would like them to always be in lbm, kg, in^3, and cm^3. This was an option we used before. I do not remember how it was done. Hello to the PTC community,   is it possible in Creo the drawing sheets to send interleaved to the plotter?   Our starting situation is: We have a one drw file with multiple sheets in different sheet formats. This print job, with different formats, we would like to conserve resources to print on the plotter.   When we send the drw file as a PDF file to the plotter, then the print job is nested.   If we print it with Creo, the print job is not nested.   Does anyone have experience with this issue or is this issue with Creo at all possible?   Note: The Printer is a HP Designjet T1300 PostScript In the plotter option is set nest.   Thanks in advance   Heiko This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. HiFor 1-dimensional element method analysis of a multi-layered  soil system I need a vector that has value 1 ateach node which is connecting two soil layers and 0 in every other node.The number of nodes in total is n and the number of soil layers is m.As attached is a sheet with my tries and with explonations about what I'm trying to achieve.My solution makes now a matrix with correct amount of nodes and value of 1 at each node that connects two layers,but it forms a matrix with m columns, and I don't know how to combine the columns into a single vector.Thank you for your help.

I’ve used mathcad years ago, but I have not used it much since ptc switched it to prime.I’m trying to solve partial differential equation, shown below:After some simplification, the equation will be this:I can write Tm as a 3rd order polynomial trend line.finally after some reorganization the final equation:I'd like to plot V(t) vs. tAm I on the right path? Last time I solved differential equations was 20 years ago, and I was not good at it I still have some weak memories of differential equation solving when both the function and the first derivative are in the same equation. I tried to solve this in excel with numerical differentiation but that one did not yielded good results either.Any help if greatly appreciated. thank you!

Hi, I don’t know what it is called, but I am looping for this functionality:Give a vector with the same height as a matrix, find the matrix who’s row values are the matrix row values multiplied by the row value in the vector. I'm trying to write a macro that rounds numbers. The code asks users for a number, and the macro rounds to 2 after the decimal place. First of all, I'd like to know if Isodraw has a built in round function. That would save me some time. I searched the 7.2 IML Reference (even though I'm using 7.3 because I can't seem to get access to 7.3 IML) and there didn't seem to be a built in round function. Nonetheless I proceeded to write a rounding submacro which takes a user input for a number and rounds the 2nd digit after the decimal. However I noticed that my numbers were often altered after I input them. I've always had issues with temperature units, early Mathcad had "R" and "K," for Rankine and Kelvin; these made sense, they were confusing but it was the confusion we had been dealing with since we learned about "hot" and "cold."Then we were given the Centigrade and Fahrenheit scales, and if that didn't suffice, the "difference in temperature" scales.I began the attached sheet to calculate the change in size as a function of temperature change.  I got my answer, but I also got an aggravating question.Can anyone explain the attached (version 15) sheet; how can -321 °F not be -321 °F?

Can I save file in Creo 3.0 to the version Creo 2.0?

First of all I apologize if I have discussed this topic before.  I tried doing a search on this but couldn't find how I could view all my discussions.   I do not like how difficult it is to take model changes through new modifications; the struggle is with the naming.   I componentize my models.  The 1st model is the basic shape.  The 2nd model adds flash at the parting line.  The 3rd model places gutter depth beyond the flash width.  The 4th model assembles all of this in a die.  I have to put several componentized model sets into the final die.   The changes themselves I would consider as going through this process very easily (most of the time).   The struggle is the fact that each of these models needs name changing to identify the new revision number.   To discover how to even make this go through was a struggle in itself, but now I at least have a method that will update component by component.  This process takes hours.

When i create a new note with an arrow, automaticaly the note appear with the reference line on the top of this note. Since updating to Creo 3 M40 we have been having trouble across almost all drawings with dimensions not being printed. About 50% of the time, some (not all) dimensions are missing from the page when printed.  They are visible in the drawing in the creo window but do not show on the page when printed or when creating a pdf (using CutePDF printer).  If we just print the same drawing again (without doing anything; no regen, no update) the missing dimensions are often printed.  This is very frustrating and dangerous.  Has anyone else had this problem.This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I am using Solidworks 2014 SP3 and Windchill WGM 10.2 M030.  I am trying to save assemblies that are 60+ MB to my workspace using the "Save to Workspace" button on the PTC Windchill tab.  The process acts like it is working for about ten minutes and then nothing.  The workspace folder on my hdd contains ~2200 files consisting of .wbk, .sldprt, and .sldasm.  WGM status window indicates files are being saved and the cursor "spins" when placing over the solidworks application.  I have let the process run in excess of twelve hours but the files never make it to the server for check in.  Any ideas why the files are not uploading to the server so that I can check them in?

I am using a parametric solution of a solve block within another solve block. I would like to use a smaller TOL for the parametric solution (i.e. the inner problem) than for the outer block. If I set the TOL before creating the solve block for the parametric solution, does the TOL get set permanently for the parametric solution? Or, will the current value of TOL be used whenever a parametric solve block solution is encountered?
