We are creating a IoT deployment based on the MQTT protocol, which will be the only source of incoming data.Is there a sample deployment architecture for Thingworx protocol adapter toolkit (PAT) with MQTT channel and MQTT broker which is scalable? The target number of devices to be supported on the Thingworx platform is ~25k.

Hi guys,   it's me again. I almost finished my AR-project. Thanks for all the help.   Maybe you can help me with my last problem to finish my project. I want to add different users and user groups wth own log ins which has different permissions. I tried to use the PTC help but i don't get it how user management works. I have already applied TML Text to model items and it works fine. I have used 'shader' property on model items to get a less opaque color effect. I wanted to apply the shader effect on an entire model containing sequences or figures from creo illustrate 

Hey hey Community, I have following scenario. I have Thingworx Foundation 8.5 (Trial), Imported MQTT Extension and have already created a, new thing called "VerneMQconnect", as MQTT Connect,new thing called "VerneMQsubscribe", as MQTT Subscriber But the Problem is that the VerneMQconnect always show "Disconnected" and "isConnected" never turn "True" it's always "False".  There is no firewall issue or somthing like that. I have tested the MQTT Broker in different ways ant it always worked without problems. Except in Thingworx, here it doesn't even manage to connect to the Broker. The Error Log schows:

I have Thingworx 8.4 installed on a Windows server machine and it looks works fine. But I noticed some services stopped. I have attached the screen shot with these services. Can anyone help explain if this is acceptable?

Hello, I want to create state definition for my shape. but I am only be to define only two types. Please refer the following image. I want to define a style for a range of values. Eg - Green for 1, red for 0 and yellow for  greater than 2

Hi,   My question is about Manufacturing Apps and the possibilities to be configured to monitor lines, machines, KPIs, etc. of multiple factories with differente group of users.   In our case, the intent is to use Manufacturing Apps to monitor different lines, machines, and KPIs from different factories. Each factory is going to have its own users, and once the users are logged, they only should see the lines, machines and KPIs that are configured for their factory, so they shouldn't have access information from other factories. Each factory should have its look & feel (logos, colours, etc.) which is going to be different for each factory.   Can we do it using Manufacturing Apps?   Thanks.   Olatz

We share a couple of laptops. On one, Google asked if we wanted the password saved after logging into Windchill. This seems to have locked us into a member account, since we can't find a logout button anywhere.Looking at similar discussions, I'm not the only one looking. So how do I log out?

I have a property whose values are coming from kepserver(datas are simulated with sine function). I want to log those data for every one second. How to do this?   I have checked in the logged check box in properties, and in advanced settings, i have given Always as a data change type. Bu,t when i execute the "query named property history" service for last one minute it is taking 5 minutes delay to give the result and it is showing the values logged in milliseconds instead of seconds. 

Is there a way to know how far the model is placed from us? For eg. when I scan a object using model target and my model is superimposed over that object. Now I want to know how far am i standing from that object. And when I move around the distance shown should also change.   Any support or suggestion how it can be achieved will be very helpful.

Hi all,    Can I exclude specific parts / sub-components from a step export?    I've got assemblies imported from a supplier which are purchased in already assembled, so I'd like to exclude the sub-components from my step file export (which, in turn, will exclude them from my BOM).    In the past I have used a parameter added to parts/assemblies to exclude those parts from a Windchill wtp BOM, but I'm using step files and a third party software to create the BOM now so I'm wondering can I do something similar to control the structure of a step file?    Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi, I want to create a things which properties should get change in some interval of time e.g. 30second with random number. So pls can you suggest how to do this.   I have created thing template and things but unable to link and configure timer.   So pls can you suggest how to do this, mainly i am facing issue to configure timer thing which will run in 30sec and change properties value.   Regards, Prashant Pandarkar

I have been using Thingworx foundation 8.4 installed on a Windows server machine. I just found there are no environment variables like JAVA_HOME and JRE_HOME defined on this server. It looks Thingworx works fine.  I also found a JavaHome key likely defined for Thingworx in the registry item "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Apache Software Foundation\Prorun 2.0\thingworxServer\Parameters\Jave\". Can anyone help explain if the JAVE_HOME environment variable is a must-have?

Hi, I tried to import the URL to webframe widget. The problem is I cannot load the page. (It shows the website refused to connect.) My website is host on pythonanywhere. I know the thingwrox webframe can only support https, so I configured https and https certicicate.   Does anyone know how to solve the issue like this?Thank you!Matt    

How can I change the background colour of a tab header? (Tab 1, Tab 2, Tab 3 in the image)   'color' has no effect and 'background-color' changes the background of the Tab contents below, not the Tab header.

Hello,   I want to personalize the "GetIdentityInfo" service in PTC.SCA.SCO.AssetMonitor.AssetList.AssetListServiceController to show different properties for the assets in the asset list. I can override the default service and write my code, but I would like to have the code for the default service so that I can personalize it instead of writing the code from scratch. Is there any way to get the default code for the services??   Thanks in advance.

There is a attribute defined on a document type, the value is carried over by new iteration or revision once it was created out of box. How can I custom to not carry over the value but reset to empty every time new revision? Eg Audit Type field was set "Initial" at A.1, new iteration to A.2 the value carried over. However  when Revise to B.1, the value was reset to empty.

Hi,I am facing an issue, when i imports my project file to 8.5 version of twx. Its showing deprecated widgets . Is it possible to migrate complete application from 8.3 to 8.5 or i need to remove manually old widgets añd add new one ?Thank you

Here is the situation: I have a mashup that is essentially just a collection widget I am using a service (getCollectionWidgetData) to populate the collection widget Each row in the collection is a contained mashup which has some action buttons on it that allow the user to kick-off other services (when clicked, each button launches a pop-up for the user to confirm, then when confirmed the service is executed and pop up closed - so technically the service is executed from the popup mashup) Each row in the collection is also displaying data that should change based on those services being executed Here is what I have tried: I created a global session variable named "refreshCollection" as a BOOLEAN when one of the above services is ServiceInvokeCompleted, I am then calling SetGlobalSessionBooleanValue({ name: "refreshCollection", value: true }) on the mashup with the collection widget, I am executing getCollectionWidgetData based on the refreshCollectionChanged event I have also tried
